I wonder what 20 yard routes he will call on 3rd and 1.

Hopefully the one that clears out the secondary for an easy underneath completion!

on third and 5.

As long as whoever isn't calling any more play action passes on 3rd and long while down in the 4th quarter I'm fine with it.

He was really bad at Central. Harbaugh must see something.

I don't think he was left much at CMU after Butch left. He was decent there after a few years when he got more of his guys in there.

Just a quick Google search regarding his time in Arkansas, but they seemed to like him.

He's a strong recruiter so it will be nice to have one of those on that side of the ball. I don't understand the hate from people. When it comes down to it, the offense is always going to be Harbaugh's offense.

We obviously have to do something, but holy hell, when was the last time the offensive players experienced some coaching stability here? How many times have they been asked to learn a new style, new playbook, adjust to a new OC? It's hard to make much progress when you're constantly changing direction.

Yes but if he plays against MSU he's playing against his former boss unless Dantonio leaves state.

Better OL and QB play would have won against MSU, OSU, and South Carolina (I think Wisconsin would have edged out even if Peters didn't get injured).
It doesn't matter how creative or complicated the playcalling and offense is if the OL breaks down and our QBs are getting injured, sacked, or under pressure all game, and likewise if the QB is missing open receivers or throwing interceptions. No matter who does what next year, this will hopefully and should be better next year considering the youth of the team.

S&P offensive ranking for Arkansas last three years:
2015: 4
2016: 39
2017: 43
18th best in same time span

Why did you add possible OC?
January 5th, 2018 at 2:32 PM ^
I though he was only going to be our WR coach. I was hoping for a more dynamic OC but who knows may be he will be a big improvement over Hamilton?

As long as they can put together a good OL next year, I'm okay with whatever type of offense they want to call. Pistol, air raid, triple option, don't care.
If you have a good OL, everything else falls into place. Running backs have lanes to run through. QBs have time to survey the field. WRs have time to get open.
