The best has yet to come.

And I don't really think it's close. Doubled their yardage, controlled the clock and the score, easily their worst loss of the year.
The rest of the games all had their issues.

I think the Maryland game had significant contributions from offense, defense and special teams. Peters had 2 TD passes, took some tough licks and didn't turn the ball over. Backs ran hard. OL seemed to block reasonably well (3Q exception).
Punting was solid. Blocked a punt. Only knock was missed FG.
Defense had 2 interceptions and multiple TFLs. Only gave up 10 points.
Only negative were the injuries: Higdon, L. Hill, Long, McCray and Gary.

overall, probably tie between this and Minnesota. This was a great road win though and our best road win of the year.

Because Michigan has not beaten a single team of any consequence, and none that are still ranked. And none of their past opponents whom they've defeated are above .500.
At this point Michigan's only win that can be even remotely categorized as "average" was vs. Minnesota which is a 5-5 team right now largely because Nebraska sucks and the Gophers had the most body-bagged non-conf. schedule in the conference. Gophers are still going to finish 5-7.
Michigan's offense is averaging an anemic 28 points per game. Defense is giving up 16 pts per game.
Michigan's softness on offense all year has been the reason - sub-par QB depth and production, and an offensive line that cannot pass block to save it's life.
The only reason Michigan is 8-2 is their defense, which now is suffering injuries and likely depth issues.
Michigan's rushing performance took a huge dip this week against a horrible defense with 160 yards on 38 attempts for 4.2 YPC.
Versus Maryland Michigan offense averaged 5.4 yards per play - on par with performances against Purdue and Indiana.
This is not a team experienced and dominant enough to beat Wisconsin on the road and stout enough to stop Ohio State from scoring 40 pts or more.

Lots to unpack up there ^.
I've ALWAYS wanted to be able to say that and I think its finally fitting.

Every game had its phase where things got a bit uncomfortable and it's our offense that caused it.
Like nobody would have even given a crap about the couple good drives Maryland had today in the 2nd half if the offense had scored another TD to end the 1st half and then early in the 2nd. No-one cares if you win 42-0 or 42-10, but at 28-10 the other team smells the *possibility* of coming back so the game is 'live' when it really should be dead.

should have destroyed Maryland and shut them out decisively.
Instead, Michigan failed to dominate and the statistics demonstrate this clearly.
That kind of lacksadaisical play is going to be suicide against more physical and explosive teams like Wisconsin and Ohio State.

Ohio State ismortal.
OK. How many times has that happened against Michigan this year or last year?
Exactly.
When they're not throwing INTs like that they are scoring 44 pts per game and giving up only 20. Compare that to Michigan's O avging 28 and giving up 16.
BTW OHio State is going to probably hang 70 on Illinois next week.
Ohio State players were eating up the press accolades and then got blasted by Ferentz in Kinnick.
There's a zero percent chance Ohio State doesn't come into Michigan game seething for the division title.
