Can OT Season please fucking end now?
Yeah: nobody forced me to click, etc.
Eh, I've seen far worse OT topics. My issue with those is that they displace other interesting / funny ones.
By the way, it's been a blessedly long time since I've seen a useless "thoughts and prayers for someone who has nothing to do with Michigan sports" post.

John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Felix Cavaliere, Steve Perry
Except I'd replace Geddy on vocals with Bruce Dickinson, and add Kirk Hammett.
Dickinson gets the slightest of edges over Freddie Mercury because Bruce can pilot the airplane to the next concert. The hardest choice is between Lifeson and Jimmy Page. I go with Lifeson because he has a better sense of humor and all that occult baggage Page brings to the table is just weird.
Have the Florida Guitar Army on stage for your groups' concerts!
Page has to get a slight edge over Lifeson. But this is a great conversation because as I've said before...
1. Zeppelin
2. Rush
3. everyone else

Not a fan of most of his stuff, but can listen to The Core all day.
JPJ never gets enough love! Versatile as hell.
I don't know...but Questlove and The Roots would be part of it.

Honestly can't pick one for these
Frontman- Chris Cornell or Bob Seger (mother fucker can sing)
Lead Guitar- Dimebag Darrel/Hendrix/Prince can't decide
Rhythm guitar- James Hetfield, some may laugh, go ahead, Hetfield gets no credit for his guitar playing even though his downpicking can't be replicated by mortal men.
Bass- Mr. Thunderfingers-John Entwistle
Drummer- John Bonham or Matt Greiner
Just waiting for all the comments from jazz enthusiasts. Yes we understand that we have no clue what we're talking about and how amazing guys like Buddy Rich and Elvin Jones were, but this is a personal list.
A different take...how about adding Stevie Ray Vaughan to the Allman Brothers lineup?

Ray Davies

Pretty sure these guys would have an amazing sound. Kinda up in the air with Kirk as guitarist though. Thought about going with Josh Homme of QotSA as well

Drums - Danny Carey
Lead Guitar - KG (tenacious d)
Rhythm Guitar - Toki Wartooth (dethklok)
I read that as "Drums: Dana Carvey" and I was like, yeah he can play pretty well for an actor/comedian.

Chad Kroeger and Kenny G
/ducks
Drums: Moe Tucker
Bass: Sid Vicious
Guitar: Neil Young
Vocals: Bob Dylan
I mean, just his ability to keep track of all those drums and the sounds they make is pretty damn impressive.
Late to the party but I couldn't resist:
Jimmy Page, Beck, Keith Moon, John Entwistle.
If I'm rockin':
Jimmy Page on lead guitar
John Entwistle on bass guitar
Detroit's own, John (The B) Badanjek on drums
If you want some organ, John Lord
I'd be delighted with either Steve Marriott or Mark Farner fronting.
If it's R&B.
Give me Steve Cropper on guitar.
James Jamerson or Bootsie on Bass.
Bernie Purdie on Drums.
Bernie Worrell on keyboards.
Wayne Jackson on Trumpet and Andrew Love on Tenor (Memphis Horns)
Although, I'd take Mollie Duncan and Roger Ball (Dundee Horns) in a pinch.
Give me the O'Jays up front.
If it's Country
I'm starting with Ann Arbor's own Bill Kirchen on his "coal burning Tele".
Emory Gordy Jr. on Bass from Emmylou Harris' Hot Band, just monstrous.
Donnie Herron on Steel, Mandolin, and Fiddle.
Johnny Gimble on another Fiddle and U of M's own "Swingin" Andy Stein on Fiddle and Saxophone.
Levon Helm is my Drummer, among other things.
Want keys? OK, OK, I'll take the old Commander, not because he's the best, but because he's the Commander.
Chuck Meade is my frontman.
If it's Ska/Reggae ..... I could do this all day.
Lead Vocals/piano - Freddie Mercury
Drums - Keith Moon
Lead Guitar - Joe Satriani
Rhythm Guitar and backing vocals - James Hetfield
Bass - John Paul Jones
Lead guitar and vocals- Eric Clapton
Bass Guitar and Vocals- Jack Bruce.
That would have made a great band.
