Kwity Paye Commits To Michigan
According to The Wolverine's Brandon Brown, Michigan has picked up a commitment from three-star Rhode Island DE Kwity Paye.

Paye is Michigan's second commit in two days, following four-star PA DT Donovan Jeter, and their 18th overall commit in the class. He had been committed to Boston College, where he'd originally been offered and recruited by Don Brown, but the recent offer and official visit to Ann Arbor changed the course of his recruitment.
I'll have a full Hello post up for Paye this afternoon after the game column.

It hasn't happened in at least 25 years. The close calls over that time:
On the weekend of September 17-18, 2011, Michigan beat EMU 31-3, Miami beat OSU 24-6, and the Lions beat the Chiefs 48-3. But ND beat MSU 31-13, so one of our college rivals still won.
On the weekend of September 12-13, 2009, Michigan beat ND 38-34, USC beat OSU 18-16, and CMU beat MSU 29-27 (ha!). That's the most recent date that all our college rivalries turned out the right way. But the Lions lost to the Saints 45-27 because the Lions sucked then.
In the bowl weekend following the 2007 season, Michigan beat Florida 41-35, OSU lost to LSU 38-24, and MSU lost to Boston College 24-21. Notre Dame didn't make a bowl (ha!). But the Lions lost to the Packers 34-13.
On October 2-3, 2004, Michigan beat Indiana 35-14, Northwestern beat OSU 33-27, Iowa beat MSU 38-16, and Purdue beat ND 41-16. The Lions had a bye, which was considered a win back then.
During the bowl weekend following the 1997 season, Michigan beat Washington State 21-16 to win the national champsionship, OSU lost to FSU 31-14, MSU lost to Washington 51-23, and ND lost to LSU 27-9. But the Lions lost to the Bucs 20-10 in their wild card playoff game on Dec. 28, 20-10.
In the 1994 season, there were two weekends on which all the college games went the right way. On September 10, Michigan beat ND 26-24, OSU lost to Washington 25-16, and MSU lost to Kansas 17-10. And on October 8, Michigan beat MSU 40-20, OSU lost to Illinois 24-10, and ND lost to Boston College 30-11. Unfortunately, the Lions lost on both those weekends.

We flipped Jeter. I'll consider that a loss.

The scouting report on him seems to be that he has great physical tools but is a bit raw. I can't wait to see what this coaching staff molds him into.

I didn't realize that Mr. Paye was 43 years old.

Worry not. A gallon of whole milk and 2 pounds of steak a day can cure Greg Oden syndrome. Harbaugh and staff will cure him.

He will fit well with old man faces Delano Hill and Kareem Walker.

A little resemblence to Bernie Mac.

When your first play on the tape apparently involves a video-game speed boost, you have my attention.
Also: this kid is the early leader for the "Khalke Hudson Award" for the under-rated recruit that makes you flat-out laugh at his play-making abilities. I really like him.

Prediction based on flimsy evidence: Paye is a Dude, will end up more highly rated/ranked by the end of the season.

With two recent commits of Paye and Jeter, I wonder how many more D lineman they take? Specifically Irving-Bey and Tufele.

but i wouldn't be shocked if he lines up at WDE a couple years down the road, assuming he can add significant weight. it appears he's got the length.
