Impressive tape. Seems like…

Impressive tape. Seems like a similar prospect to Mason Curtis. Both may ultimately compete for time at the SAM position.

Agreed...from everything I…

Agreed...from everything I've read, Anderson has moved ahead of Crippen.

Good to see the department…

Good to see the department expanding. The uncertainty/shake-up of the coaching staff has, without question, hurt the recruiting momentum to close out 2022 and to kick-off 2023.

There's still a lot of time to recover.

Another notable move - the ILB from Chicago, Jimmy Rolder, went from "not scouted" to 4 star (333rd)

After watching his film, i think he might be best at Right Tackle.

Either way, hoping he commits.

Cornelius Johnson, Dixon and…

Cornelius Johnson, Dixon and Andrel Anthony are all 6'2" or taller, but this kid appears to have more of the jump-ball skills needed on the outside and is the tallest of the bunch.

Occasionally go to Michigan!

Edit: the kid could potentially start week 1. fingers crossed

No doubt about that…

No doubt about that. Recruiting services are way behind on Pollard.

We was fine for start #2. He has things to work on, but I don't think the coaches gave him enough of an opportunity. He needs to read the field better and continue to work on his touch.

Bell is not a #1 receiver on any ranked team. He's a great complimentary piece. Nico is sorely missed as a trusted & talented veteran.

no idea who he is and i don't have any insider intel. i just have no life and read about Michigan football every day.

This would be my guess based…

This would be my guess based on everything I've read, however I think they may try and have Sainristill and Jackson on the field at the same time frequently. Barnhart is the wild card. he could be a starting guard or back up either tackle position.

Slot: Jackson, Sainristil

LT: Hayes, T. Jones

LG: Filiaga, Keegan

C: Vastardis, Carpenter

RG: Stueber, Zinter, Rumler

RT: Mayfield, Barnhart

TE: Eubanks, All, Schoonmaker

WR: Bell, Henning

WR: Johnson, Wilson

QB: Milton, McNamara

RB: Charbonnet, Haskins, Evans, Corum

FB: Mason

SDE: Hutchinson, Upshaw

NT: Hinton, Jeter

3Tech: Kemp, Welschof

WDE: Paye, Vilain

Viper: Barrett, Solomon

SAM: VanSumeren, Ojabo

FS: Hill, Paige

I don't think Jennings long term position is ILB. he projects to more of a SAM/WDE. Where Hood seems to be a MIKE all the way.

The Patriots use the…

The Patriots use the fullback more than most teams. The only reason they didn't use one that much last year is because Develin was hurt.

Mason could be a great fit there IMO.

6.61 is an elite time for a DB.

if a DE runs below a 6.8 it's bonkers.

average 3-Cone Drill times at the following positions:

  • Outside Linebacker, 7.10 seconds
  • Defensive End, 7.23 seconds
  • Defensive Tackle, 7.59 seconds
the 3-cone time must be a…

the 3-cone time must be a typo. it's almost a full second faster than Jadeveon Clowney and half a second faster than Myles Garrett.

If Kwity had no arms and ran a 6.37 second 3-cone, he'd have 10 sacks this season.

While I wish it were true,…

While I wish it were true, there is no way that 6.37 3-cone time is real. That would be the 2nd fastest of all time at the NFL combine - at any position, never mind DE/DL.

that's basically a 50" vertical.

This is silly.

Michigan likes Spindler more…

Michigan likes Spindler more on the OL. The question is whether they prefer him at tackle or guard.

if guard and Kendall commits, that's 4 interior OL in this one class.

my understanding is that it…

my understanding is that it was a grades issue

Patterson has zero touch on…

Patterson has zero touch on deep balls and i don't recall ever seeing a Michigan receiver drop as many passes in a season as Ronnie Bell.

Shea cannot mentally grasp the concept of progression reads. seems to panic far too much.

run game is mind-bogglingly pedestrian.

receivers don't get much separation considering how good they're supposed to be.

this is horrendous.

his acceleration jumps out…

his acceleration jumps out right away. wow!

I agree with you. I think…

I agree with you. I think Upshaw and Morris fit that 3 tech vibe. Dwumfour may be gone after this season though. still not much NT depth for 2020...i know it's early, but it doesn't appear to be a priority at the moment.

After next season it appears…

After next season it appears we'll only have two players at the NT position - Jeter and Mazi Smith. It doesn't appear that we're in on any highly ranked kids that fit there. Are we slowly phasing out of that style of defense? focusing on longer players that can move inside and outside?

there are a lot more of the SDE types that fill out to 3-tech.

seems as if Barrett has been…

seems as if Barrett has been moved back and forth. Last i heard he was at the slot.

You have to assume Haskins will still take reps at RB. you can't go into a season with only 3 at that position.

I think I'm in the majority…

I think I'm in the majority here - I'd be shocked if he declared. He could really use a bounce back year.

I think he's a tackle all…

I think he's a tackle all the way. we have the depth at guard, so i see no reason why they'd take someone now that they'd project to guard.

"Michigan's slot receiver…

"Michigan's slot receiver options when Sainristil arrives will be classmate George Johnson III and guys borrowed from the regular receiver or RB depth chart."

isn't Giles Jackson projected at the slot as well? Michael Barrett too?

As it stands now, I don't…

As it stands now, I don't see Shea, Lavert or Hudson entering the draft after this season. Gentry is a big question mark. as many here have said, he doesn't have the numbers, but the size/speed combo could have him taken in the 2nd round.

there are a few transfers that wouldn't surprise me. It's going to be interesting how it all shakes out with the size of this class.

re: Tall WR - if they miss on Ford and Johnson, I could see them intensify their pursuit of Trevon Raphael (6'3" 190 out of OH)

If Michigan gets one of Keegan, Ike or Benhart i'll be happy.

I still think there is a…

I still think there is a shot with Quavaris Crouch who could play any LB position it seems. He alluded that if Michigan wins this year, he'd have them as the top choice.

At corner, but I am assuming…

At corner, but I am assuming he's in the 2 deep with Thomas at nickel (where he excels). It appears he's ahead of St. Juste (injury), Hughes, Sims and the rest of the freshman.

if he projects to the slot,…

if he projects to the slot, I do wonder what that says about the recruitment of Mike Sainristill. I have read that the staff was high on him as a receiver. would seem to be a bit of overkill to sign 3 receivers that project to the slot this year (Johnson III, Kent and Sainristill)

so i guess this is the 3…

so i guess this is the 3 deep at this juncture?

SDE: Gary, Kemp, Johnson

NT: Solomon, Mone, Jeter

3T: Dwumfour, Marshall, Irving-Bey

WDE: Winovich, Paye, Vilain

thank you for this

A+ GIF usage

JBB - oline, depth

I think it's a mistake on ESPN's part - believing he has no eligibility left.

Anderson would be a nice pick-up and like many on this board, I'm not so certain we can count on Newsome to contribute this season.

LT: Hudson vs Stueber vs Anderson?

LG: Bredeson, Spanellis

C: Ruiz, TBC (Runyan vs Vastardis as back-up?)

RG: Onwenu, Filiaga, Ulizio, Honigford

RT: JBB vs Hudson vs Stueber vs Filiaga

McDoom and Watson?

Watson should most definitely get a 5th year. what's this about McDoom??

41-17 good guys

41-17 Michigan

Filiaga

yep - i saw him in there as well.

Futile trying to predict stats this year

I keep thinking the team is going to spread the ball around a lot this season. I wouldn't be shocked if we had 3 receivers and a TE getting 30+ catches this year.

Someone could seperate themself, but I can see a scenario with noone catching more than 50 passes.

Matt Brown

seems like this position is Mason's for the taking. The only competition I really see here is the PWO, Matt Brown.

If Mallory goes to Miami

I'm curious to see who the staff who start targeting outside out Muhammad and Ruckert

Considering his size...

the kid is already 6'5", 245...I don't see that really working at ILB. Maybe a future 3-tech though...?

it's so early, but here are my guesses/notes

QB: Speight, Peters and then O'Korn

RB: Evans, Higdon, Isaac, Walker...I could see Kingston Davis getting some more playing time. the report on him last season had him as the best blocker aside from Smith. then he got hurt.

FB: Hill, Poggi and then Mason

WR: the top 3 would be Crawford, DPJ, and then one of Perry, Nate Johnson or McDoom. anyone's guess after that.

TE: Bunting, Wheatley and Asiasi...and then everyone else. (i'm still curious about Gentry)

OL: my best guess right now - LT: Bredeson, LG Kugler or Ruiz, C: Cole, RG: Onwenu, RT: Ulizio or Bushell-Beatty...Steuber and Filiaga in the mix for some playing time on either side

SDE: Gary, Kemp, R. Johnson, Jeter

NT: Mone, Solomon, Dwumfor, Paea

DT: Hurst, Solomon, Marshall, Hudson, Irving-Bey

WDE: Winovich, Jones, Vilain, Malone-Hatcher, Paye

SLB/Viper: Metellus, Hudson, Anthony, Uche, Gil?

MLB: Bush, Mbem-Bosse, Ross

RILB: McCray, Wangler, Furbush, Singleton

LCB: Hill, Washington, Thomas

RCB: Long, Watson, St-Juste

SS: Hudson, Metellus, Woods

FS: Kinnel, Kelly-Powell, Hawkins

*i totally spaced on Glasgow...he will fill in both at safety and viper.

agreed. along the lines of

agreed. along the lines of this year's Stanford class would be great.

1-2 OT, 2 OG, 2 DT, 2 TE and some safeties. and obviously any 5* that wants to come and qualifies regardless of position.
