OT: Other than Michigan Football, what are you into?
Since there is absolutely nothing going on in the world of Michigan football at the moment, I was wondering what my fellow MGoBloggers are into outside of Michigan athletics.
Are you a train nerd? Do you build tiny dollhouse furniture like that guy on The Wire? Serial killer?

Urban exploration in the summer.
I went to the Silverdome last August. Freaky stuff. There's no roof anymore and the field (or what's left of it) is like a waterbed.
The ads for History Channel are still in the place.
I went to Hamtramck Stadium a couple years ago, Miami Marine Stadium in 2012 to name a few notable places.

I saw a video of a kid doing bike tricks in the old stadium. Neat, but sad as I remember going there to watch Barry play. And Isaiah play. And my HS team play....
man I'm old.

Got any pics of your exploration to share?
I'm going to be honest with you, this seems like a ton of fun.
I'm into pretending that I read a ton by quoting Dostoyevsky and talking about doing my expected kids nursery in Camus theme, but really I just watch a bunch of Family Guy.
Brothers Karamazov was nothing special FYI.
Enjoyed The Stranger far more.
Dude, I'm busy watching the entire Netflix library of Family Guy for the 34th time.
Check this book out.

I watch a lot of movies, usually catching good ones within a day or two of its release. Luckily I live in NYC so we get every limited release and we have a number of phenomenal cinemas that show great independent movies that don't get play at your standard AMC or Regal. Unfortuantely it's at the point now where I have trouble focusing when I try to watch a movie on Netflix at home because of how immersing the theater experience is in comparison.
now a days, but I agree that going to the movies just feels special. getting a bucket of popcorm and a huge drink. I love it when my wife and I get a chance to go.
Would highly recommend moviepass, it's essentially a credit card for buying movie tickets that you don't have to pay off. $45/month in NYC for the option to get a ticket every calendar day, but it's cheaper in other parts of the country (I think around $30). Tickets at a theater usually run $15 a pop here so it's easily worth it for me, saves me a ton of money and allows me to see everything in the theater without worrying about cost.
buthaving 2 (almost 3) kids under 4 is my main hurdle to going to the movies. In a few years I'll probably be able to go more often. That's a heck of a deal if I do.
It's a geeky table top game with cool star wars spaceship models where you pretend to go pew pew.
I also love to play soccer, but haven't been able to play as much lately.
Once my house is done this fall I'm hoping to have more time to do more stuff.
Specifically, trials (not trails) motorcycles, right now.
Im looking for a 125cc scooter. Any suggestions?
Become a man.
LOL +1!
Man that's hilarious. You really got me there.
Hiking, playing basketball, weightlifting, etc.
I'm huge into the folk punk scene right now
I also am a huge tech geek (raspberry Pi projects have kept me busy for a minute)
I love smoking pot
I also am trying to do a better job lately of helping my fellow man. I can do a better job in this regards.
Wtf is the folk punk scene
Bands such as Mischief Brew, Ghost Mice, Defiance Ohio, Days n Daze, and anything Pat the Bunny has been involved in.
You a Johnny Hobo fan? I think he was probably one of the most tragically talented acts in that genre. Excuse me while I go listen to him.
Edit: LOL, just watched the video and he started singing and I was like, oh shit, it is the same dude. haha.
I miss the dark Darker Blue.
Darkest blue?
darkest!
oh man, I recently found out that at 36 years old I'm going to be a father for the first time.
I'm trying to be slightly more grown up.
I fail more often then I succeed.
As soon as you log off you can be grown up. This place here is for shits and grins.
Congrats on the baby news, by the way. It's a riot.
thanks man, I'm so excited. I never thought I could be this excited for anytihng.
Funny thing is this was totally unexpected, had no idea it was coming, but I can't wait.
That's how it happens.
Just make sure that baby is aftaid of jesus cause his hearts filled with vengence.
There's a little light creeping into you isn't there?
there with you on that... 2.5 year old boy/girl twins and a 14 month old daughter... our 2.5 year old daughter is pretty much potty trained now but she still has her moments... our son has no interest at all in being potty trained... so yes it does get better...
It does.
I'm by no means pro-diaper, but pretty soon they'll roll your eyes at you and say "good" when you ask them how school was and "nothing" when you wonder what they learned. We're finishing potty training on our youngest now, but my oldest is finishing second grade and growing up fast. So while diapers do in fact suck, the older they get, the older you get.
the hours are long but the years are short mean alot to me at this phase.
I'm deliberately trying to enjoy my son's little boy-ness. He gets so crazy excited over things its a hoot. My daughter is 10 and enjoys time with me, but she's well started down the tween path too.
daughter is a mini version of my wife and mimics her in a lot of ways... on sunday my wife made a grocery list, all day yesterday our daughter walked around with a pad of paper and a pen and said that she was making lists...
my daughter is 7 and loves making lists...
for a while there was being judy bunny whatever her name is from Zootopia and give everyone in the house tickets. the best was when she kept spelling 'erested' on all of the tickets.
ah kids... the only true joy in this world maybe...
Other sports? Hockey, all of it.
Other things? Pretty much fast cars and rock/metal music.
