ACC chimes in on spring practice
The onslaught continues. ACC commissioner John Swofford gives his 2 cents on Harbaugh's spring break plans.
Spoiler - he's not a fan

Eh, so ban them. The NCAA won't vote on it until after we've done ours and everyone will do them next year anyways. This way, we're the only program that ever gets the benefit of it.

Probably because Harbaugh hasn't set up shop in their backyard yet.

Didn't the summer tour go to both texas and california last year.

I thought for sure the next thread on this topic would involve this:
@DantonioMark says Harbaugh off-site idea "creative" #MichiganState is considering it, too: https://t.co/pX0Ss7ju2L pic.twitter.com/JRzle4bOa7

I'm fine with this. Urban Meyer wanted the B10 to raise its profile in recruiting when he came to OSU. That's exactly what's happening with Harbaugh. If Dantonio follows suit, then even better.

teams, I said the other day, you ban Harbaugh from IMG next year and he will open UM of South Florida School of Business, Football, Football Business and Tropical Palm School

Dantonio: how'd you get that idea
Harbaugh: I just try to think creatively.

I'm loving every minute of it.
Instead of following the crowd, we are pushing the envelope and saying why not. Keep up with Michigan or we'll leave you behind in our dust!
This is the best Michigan innovation since "the winged helmet" to help identify pass receivers downfield.
Remote summer camps! Remote spring break practice! I can't wait to find out what's next? Does anybody else have it better than us right now?
In the meantime Harbaugh and Michigan are on the lips of coaches, conference commissioners ........and more importantly........recruits!

It was developed by Crisler, He used it at Princeton and Michigan, but it was never a Princeton thing. It was a Crisler thing first, and then became a Michigan thing. Princeton began using it as their own only in 1998.

The best Michigan innovation since the maize-and-blue winged helmet was the platoon system for offense and defense.

Really? Even with a day to come up with something the country isnt already scoffing at, this is all they got? /smh
February 11th, 2016 at 7:34 PM ^
Fuck everyone.
I want us to do what we do and do it ourself.
After we do these spring practices, we will then go set fire to all the campuses that don't support us.
Sweet dreams, pusscakes.

Agreed, Jessica has one for Swofford and one for Skankey....
/Yes, I know how to spell his name, but my spelling is far more appropriate.

I have one for Jessica too :)
I got a thing for really... smart girls...

Did somebody call her fat? But good meme for the blog this past year.
Who cares what the SEC and ACC think. Harbaugh is a genius.
February 12th, 2016 at 10:08 AM ^
I'm all for it as long as we capture the SEC women and bring them to Ann Arbor.

I'm looking forward to hearing from Larry Scott and Bowlsby. Particularly Scott, since next year we could conceivably run a spring practice at Crenshaw or De La Salle.
Oh wait, this isn't a real thing, so nobody cares. These craven commissioners only pretend to care when they are getting pressured by coaches and ADs who are immediately threatened (I'm looking at you FSU, YTM, and UF).

whose butt-hurt is greater? The ACC's, or the SUCK...erm...SEC's?
Methinks it's a toss-up...

it's amazing how much the ACC ducks the critcism that the B10 gets on an annual basis.
The ACC is garbage at football too.

Great analogy, here is swofford on the left and skankey on the right....
/Yes, I know how to spell sankey, but skankey seems more appropriate.
February 11th, 2016 at 7:36 PM ^
“It is creative,” Swofford told the show. “It’s kind of like we’re going to take you on vacation but you’ve got to practice while we’re on vacation … it’s a huge intrusion on a college student’s life and taking his ability to have a break out of his hands. I guess it depends on how you look at it.”
So, he's essentially redressing Sankey's argument. OK.
The players that have mentioned it on social media seem to be in favor of it - emphatically so in some cases - so yeah, this is such an intrusion into their time that they would willingly spend working on football. Yes, it definitely depends on how you look at it, I guess.

Complain? This is a free trip for kids to play sports. With their best friends. In Florida.
That beats the hell out of drinking lukewarm Capri Sun and staring through a bay window at your half-naked father while he mows the lawn.
