One Frame At A Time: Northwestern
I don't say this too often, but props, BTN. This time-lapse shot already looked great; then the director slowed it down for Jehu Chesson's kickoff return touchdown and the ensuing reaction. I could watch this all day.
Then again, Jim Harbaugh and his poor hat lurk after the jump, so...
[JUMP, obviously.]

HONORABLE MENTION
As promised, Jabrill Peppers Fair Catch Supercut.
Jabrill Peppers murders speed option.
Jake Rudock to Jake Butt.
Rudock to AJ Williams.
Rudock's touchdown keeper.
Rudock jukes a guy. (Also: that is targeting.)
Mo Hurst crushes Thorson on the Lewis INT.
Nice cut, Karan Higdon.
De'Veon Smith double-catch.
Thorson's pass returned to sender.
Willie Henry stunt, sack.
Blake O'Neill reacts to a touchback.
Strong TFL/celebration from Joe Bolden.
Northwestern fans.
DE-FENSE.
10. Touch The Banner
Double-pump windmill for Jabrill Peppers, obviously.
9. Take A Seat, Both Of You
Ryan Glasgow: stronk.
8. MGoTubes Love Fullback Dives
Incidentally, I had the same look on my face.
7. The Rollercoaster
100% on board with this becoming a new tradition. With a full student section it looks great.
6. AJ Breaks It Down
AJ Williams, already having a career day before kickoff.
5. One-Way Ticket On The De'Veon Express
The broadcast view reveals Smith dragged Nick VanHoose a good ten yards before dispatching him on the turf.
Meanwhile, Chesson flatted Godwin Igwebuike for good measure.
4. Game Over
What a gorgeous setup. Also, watch Jabrill Peppers get a key block and then nearly catch Chesson at the goal line. Michigan's returners are rather athletic. Replay view:
3. Big House Time-Lapse
Perhaps my favorite part: seeing the entire Michigan sideline head for the end zone as Chesson streaks down the sideline.
2. Jourdan Lewis Wizard Pick
I'm still not entirely sure how he did this. This Northwestern coach is equally befuddled:
He'll always have that fleeting second of joy.
FRAMES OF THE GAME: A HOLD, A HARBAUGH, A HAT
The officials just missed an obvious holding call on third-and-forever; it didn't matter at all because Northwestern had to throw the ball away anyway. Michigan led 31-0 and would get the ball back on a punt.
None of this context mattered to Jim Harbaugh, who was curious to know what, exactly, this official was watching.
BTN came through with the clutch slow-mo replay:
I love this man.

The tme lapse works and was very cool, but the lightboxes just clock for me, nothing seems to load and I am sad.

If you need a workaround, though, there's an easy one. Right click and hit 'open link in new tab' or 'open link in new window' and it'll load a page with just the GIF.

Great, thanks. Always look forward to this post every week!

My work internet blocks all the GIFs where the link starts https://c1.staticflickr.com, but lets them through if it starts with https://c2.staticflickr.com. Strange. only allows me to see about half of them.

I want a voting option reading all of the above. What an afternoon of unbridled wonderment and joy.

Excellent assorment of gifs from this game. Tough choice.

The cheerleaders! They were... leading cheers! Which the students were following!

I like that BTN devotes more attention to pregame and halftime activities than the other networks. That said, as a critique I kind of wish they would have slowed down the time-lapse a bit earlier than they did so you could see the band march the M down the field and the team touching the banner all in super fast motion as well. Either way, cool to watch the bowl fill up.
October 14th, 2015 at 8:54 AM ^
Agreed. Now if they could just devote some attention to in-game activities, we'd have a winner.
October 13th, 2015 at 4:29 PM ^
wish there was a shot from the back of the end zone as Chesson was approaching the end zone. I love a good bicep kiss celebration!

I think it's a dab if thats the acceptable singular version of dabbin'

Slow-mo shot of Harbaugh. And it's not even close. That was perfect... very impressed that BTN got that shot given their total ineptitude with the cameras in general.
October 13th, 2015 at 4:55 PM ^
says "you're right" and you see Harbaugh stop and turn away.
October 13th, 2015 at 4:32 PM ^
So basically Peppers takes away an entire half of the field run or pass, leaving the other 10 to cover the rest
October 14th, 2015 at 8:57 AM ^
I love how he kept running to the end zone on the KO return for a TD out of habit, even though there was nobody to block for 30 yards.
You just know that in his mind he was carring the ball.

the MGoTubes in the background of the Kerridge FB run had me cracking up....Love it.

I thought Lewis cleared up how this happened perfectly well at the press conference. It appeared on his leg. Just like the coaches taught him to do it.

It's a crime that BTN did not provide a decent angle on that Lewis interception. BTN -3.
October 13th, 2015 at 4:44 PM ^
I'm still not entirely sure how he did this
Inside Michigan Football had a good view of what actually happened. Go to this video and fast forward to 3:30.

I would give you +1 million if I could; I have been wanting to see that so much, and it's a good view to understand what happened.

Wow... can I vote this frame of the game? I have been wondering since Saturday how he picked that ball off.
October 13th, 2015 at 6:43 PM ^
Sorry, accidentally negged you. Sparty hate week must be getting to me.
I'd been wondering about that myself. I was in section 21 already looking down in disgust, and looked back up to see him running away with it...

Looking down in disgust when ahead 21-0 in the second quarter against a ranked opponent?

Finally get to see what happened, great to see it was an amazing pbu that fell into his lap and not the receiver just dropping the catch into his lap.

they showed this shot once on the scoreboard replay in the stadium. only seeing it once made it only sort of make sense...

This play is even better than it looked--I thought the ball bounced to Lewis, but he just snatched it.
Ace...there was a Harbaugh rant earlier this year where he threw his play sheets on the ground (may have actually happened twice). I HIGHLY recommend a rant montage to this song (perhaps including some of U-M's "magic" plays and Smith tossing defenders aside):
October 13th, 2015 at 4:47 PM ^
Does he get credited with the reception?
October 13th, 2015 at 8:08 PM ^
Yes, he gets a pass completion, the passing yards, a reception, and the receiving yards. Fantasy football gold! Sort of.

On the wizard interception my favorite part is Pepper's reaction.
He does a minor windmill arm freak out when he realizes Lewis has the ball then immediately provides the key block on that NU receiver.

October 13th, 2015 at 5:08 PM ^
All the winged helmets bunched together, filling the frame, nothing looks better.
October 13th, 2015 at 5:11 PM ^
...other than the everything is watch Peppers put his hands up to celebrate for just an instant before he reminds himself to block and spring Lewis.
"YAYYYYoknowmurder"
Cracks me up.
