I wonder if this was long in the making or if there was an issue around the time of the spring game.
Chris was a great guy, as many can guess from his responsiblity as recruiting coordinator. Very friendly, very funny, loved Michigan.
A lot of people questioned his eye for talent, which may have led to his removal, but he certainly made an impression on the talents that were brought in on visits, etc. Good luck to Chris in the rest of his career.
Since there's not an immediate plan to replace his position it might have been inevitable from the time Harbaugh was hired. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that Harbaugh structures his staff differently than Hoke and there was redundancy/Harbaugh wanted a different skillset.
Best of luck to Singletary, obviously.
Allegedly, he is bad mouthing Michigan to powerful figures in the metro Detroit area.
Insiders seem to think that might be the reason why Michigan has "fallen off" with top in-state prospects.
Yikes, I really hope this is not true.
Usually, this just makes the badmouther look crazy and not credible...but he might have strong enough relationships where coaches and players actually believe him/are influenced by him.

You have a list for things like this? Too much time on your hands, or too into this list thing...
I also hope this is not true, but we have exhibit A - King Coach Harvel!
Weber stayed, Wilcher talked like everything is cool, and OSU will continue to recruit the Detroit area hard when there's a good enough recruit. College football recruiting is part truth about the good guy, part lie about the bad guy.
This seems like internet nonsense.
kids are committing now. We've lost out on two in-state players we wanted in the last week.
That's an incredibly stupid move on his part. No employer wants to hire the guy that badmouthed his previous employer on the way out. Especially if said badmouthing is done in public.
Of course. Hire the golden boy and just when things seem to be looking up, you get petty mofos sabatoging recruiting.... Sigh... Tough week for Michigan. Can we ever catch a prolonged break?
Can we just catch a break? I think you take offseason headlines and rumors a little too seriously.
was fired for wearing Jorts to the office.
It has "wardrobe" all over it. Norfleet departed because of those highlighter shoes. These issues will quiet once we select Under Armor, Nike or Adidas.
It was the dog chain necklace.
Maybe he made a bad lunch recommendation
Found the Brit
Definitely not British, was just reading up about the weekend Premier League games from writers across the pond and it slipped into my subconscious.
One source informed Wolverine247 that there are no current plans to replace the role that Singletary occupied. Michigan has expanded their recruiting operations under Jim Harbaugh, hiring recruiting coordinators Chris Partridge and Matt Doherty along with Gwen Bush, whose role is perhaps most similar to Singletary's.
Perhaps with other people coming on board, this was part of a preconceived progression as it does seem that they were bringing on people to essentially fill portions of Singletary's role. Not really sure how much we'll really know, but I wish him luck wherever he lands. He weathered a lot of change in Ann Arbor and did so well - there's something to be said for that.
I don't know why (other than the "Team Mom" moniker) but I had assumed Gwen Bush's role was more complimentary to Singletary's than that would imply.
"Chris, you're so pretty"
Are you saying it was actually more backhanded complimentary?
Yeah, I think it was a plan all along for him to be let go/replaced. He was the recruiting coordinator. It makes complete sense to keep him on staff for awhile until coaches and other assistants get on the ball with recruiting and caught up on the present players on the team. Once that has been mostly established you start phasing him out. I do remember some recruits bringing his name up, so most likely didn't want to let him go from the start and lose connects to certain recruits until some new guys got with it.
Seems like that all would make sense.
Based on what I have read on Rivals it seems to be more performance based rather than just being let go because a new staff came in.
I don't know if you read a week or so back, but the thing about him not adopting to the new technology was pretty damning as well.
What a turd
If he doesn't fit in with Harbaugh and what he wants, it makes sense to get him out of there. The recruiting staff at Michigan will hopefully continue to grow.
No offense to Singletary, but this has may have been a long time coming. Not a whole lot of disputing that there has been zero to minimal player development at Michigan over the past 3-4 years. While it certainly wouldn't be all his fault, its not out of the realm of possibility to question Singletary's ability to identify talent.
