Isn't he, like, older than Bo?

Nope. Need a coach who, hopefully, will stay for a decade+.

Hey, me too!

mediocre head coach that was lucky enough to ride Elways coattails for 2 Super Bowls and we would be incredibly dumb to get him.

Perfect retort. I dunno if Shanahan is any kind of right answer, but he's a highly respected coach with a wealth of experience that includes winning two trophies and two rings given to the greatest football team in the whole world. From what I've seen of the data here and elsewhere, yes, to me it sounds like this could well be yet another 'NFL leftovers' situation, sure, but I think Mighty Michigan could deign to consider the man's application if this report is accurate. Sheesh.

but isn't this like getting joepa or bobby bowden at the tail end of their career
sure the guy is a legend, but probably a bit too old
unless all you want is 5yrs of a guy to be a stabilizer then get a stud to coach for many years

You need to title the thread "Bleacher Report: Mike Shanahan wants to..."
That way, people will know this isn't serious.
November 8th, 2014 at 7:38 PM ^
and then instantly delete the thread, because, you know, Bleacher Report.

Why would Florida or Michigan want him?

His success is because the Denver Broncos were absolutely loaded with talent. He didn't do much with the raiders and only won one playoff game with the broncos after Elway retired. His stint with the Redskins wasn't that great either.

I want to coach Jessica Alba.
November 8th, 2014 at 7:26 PM ^
I wouldn't compare Michigan to Jessica Alba. If I had to choose which female celebrity the Michigan coaching opportunity is right now, I'd go with Maggie Gyllenhaal.

November 8th, 2014 at 9:56 PM ^
I would say Kathy Bates.
November 8th, 2014 at 10:52 PM ^
if i could figure it out, id embed the family guy Jake/ Maggie Gyllenhall argument about who's ruined more movies here..
myself, id go with a broad who had potential, but is just a mess right now...
Lindsay Lohan? are we really Lindsay Lohan now?
