Your opportunity to support NIL efforts for hoops:

That didn't take long.
Wow. Somebody really did not like what was happening with Michigan basketball. We are moving on all of this at a speed that Michigan simply does not move at.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the guy that was hired as the "GM" of the football program. Can't remember his name.
Connor Stalions?
Stallion Connors
Connor Champions.
It helps that our new coach is more willing to get out and sell the program to the general public.
May is already making the rounds. Here's a nice interview he just did:
Good interview.
He seems like a cards on the table, plain speak, transparent kind of guy.
He talks about his team this year vs last year without a bunch of coach speak.
He has a Beilein vibe to him.
I hope he has success like Beilein.

And I hope it doesn’t take him as long to rebuild.
Assurances were made. Maybe just maybe coaches also have to put in work for more NIL money not just think they will get handed to them
Did Dusty already put in work for this? Impressive and bodes well for the future if this is his doing so quickly after the hire rather than this being done for and handed to him.
Yeah he signed the contract that he was specifically sought after for. Now in the coming months watch the work he puts in to get the collective increasing
How did he already put in work? The collective went to work for a coach they liked and wanted. Its ok to say that. Its obvious that Juwan was not really liked at UM and part of that I BELIEVE is two fold: He wasn't Beilein and he his poor decision making with regard to his emotions. The only thing that was going to overshadow those things were winning big time but that comes with support and he didn't get the way May is getting in coming in the door.
There is another aspect to it, which is that Howard just didn't seem that engaged in PR in general, whether it was giving the media access or doing fundraising events.
I'm sure some of that stuff is annoying and I could see why a fabulously wealthy ex-NBA star might not want to do it ... but it's part of being a college head coach.
Negotiations aren’t your strong suit are they??
Oh boy here we go.
Prediction: NIL requests are going to top car warranty extension offers within 5 years.
Seriously, someone remake this spoof Humane Society ad with an NIL theme.
or maybe they'll top all the political spam texts I've been getting - just crazy and annoying - we need a national "do not text" list....
im in and contributed, go blue!
Same here. Got the email and I contributed. Considered it a wash with all of the savings from not buying hoops tickets the last two years.
Gave $25. If the Big House crowd all gave the same = $2.5 million. Also, while more of a CFB fan, seems even a modest increase in NIL to get just 1 or 2 more guys than otherwise would make a big impact.
I understand why people wouldn't want to give $$ to players already getting paid, instead of using it for their own families. But I see $25 as well worth it if it makes watching the basketball season and March Madness more enjoyable. Seems better use of $25 than going to the movie theatre.
That's the tough part, you tell me my $25 will be matched by everyone in the Big House and with a decent confidence that it will lead to a better season, I would be in. I know Kansas didn't likely crowdsource the Hunter Dickinson thing, but if they did to pay him... Those people probably want their money back? Not that I will ever tell a soul what they should / or shouldn't do with their money, I see both sides.
Good point about bad outcomes. Maybe then the reward for fans is a bit like sports gambling? Like my $$ to the NIL a year ago was a drop in the bucket, but I "played a role" in the 2023 FB title?
If you need to think this hard about a $25 donation, then don't bother. But IMO, it's not that much to contribute and may - nothing is ever guaranteed - help the team a bit.
Oh, I would agree that $25 is not that much. I also don't think that any of our little donations are going to be very impactful even pooled together.
and how'd that work out for Kansas?
Ok, all "Michigan Money Cannon" people, here's your chance to put your money into that cannon you like bragging about so much.
When people talk NIL around here, it's usually with other people's money and not their own. Appreciate the link.
Very happy to see NIL for the basketball program, and donated.
