Coaching staff deeper dive into their connections.
The Alford hire seems out of the blue but its not. There is a deeper connection between Tony Alford (RB coach), Sherrone Moore, Greg Scruggs (DL Coach), Brian Jean-Mary (LB coach).
They all coached or played at Louisville during Moore's time there.
Moore was a GA from 2009-2011, Coached TE's from 2011-2012
Tony Alford was the RB coach from 2007-2008
Brian Jean-Mary LB's from 2010-2014
Greg Scruggs played DL there from 2008-2011.
Seems like Moore is getting to hire his guys and people, which I'm happy about. I was terrified that Warde was going to influence him.
Thanks for posting. It's good info.
And Wink Martindale visited Churchill Downs in the spring of '10, where he won some mad money on Super Saver at 15-1 and hit the bourbon trail later that evening.
But where did he smash into Sherrone?
Why would warde interfere?
that would require doing something
Warde’s strengths:: humble bragging about how many B1G championships M wins in various sports, smoking cigars, getting huge
Warde’s weaknesses: working
When you put it like that, I'm mainly mad at Warde for living my dream.
Nothing to add, everyone in this comment thread has done excellent work.
You talk about a guy who falls back-asswards into success - he's probably the only D1 AD who has a men's basketball, women's basketball and football national championship on his resume - and had nothing whatsoever to do with any of them.
Lol - I don’t think you’re making the point you think you are… look at this loser’s incredible resume, amirite?
This board has really turned insufferable- the first national championship (unshared, anyways) in everybody’s lifetime and every thread is just about shitting on Warde. I don’t really care whether the guy stays or goes, but FFS it’s getting old.
EDIT - I see 42-27 already shared a similar sentiment - Wardegoblog it is
Wow, thanks for posting that info.
Looks like Sherrone didn't overlap with Alford at Louisville, but he must been aware of the impression Alford made on the staff there.
My best friend who was on the 2008 staff said Moore was around, just not in an official capacity. There was overlap through other coaches they both knew.
So he was aware of Alford, but not fully aware?
Moore likely than not generally aware, or should have been ...

Where would you get the idea Warde would be involved in assistant coach hiring? Not even a whisper of that over all his head coaching hires. I get it that you don’t like him but y’all just making stuff up now?
Every thread is a Warde hate thread. We need to make every single piece of news and information revolve entirely around Warde (fat joke) and endlessly talk about him no matter what the subject matter may be.
Lions signed Graham Glasgow? Well he would have gotten more money if not for Warde, somehow. We hire OSU's RB coach? Well Warde would have hired a worse one if he could! Russel Wilson signed with the Steelers? Hah, that's a Warde move if I ever saw it!
Just rename this website WardeGoBlog and be done with it.

Good one. I laughed.
42, I'd personally be okay if we renamed the site GoBlogWarde.

Were you around for the Dave Brandon years? There was much much more vitriol toward Brandon on here
And MGoBlog kinda got him fired
Keep it going boys--we'll get there again!
Does Warde get credit for Moore if it works out?
-WM
100%
If he had pushed hard against the ncaa or petitititi, Moore may not have had the chance to pad his resume and they may have gone looking. It's like he's a genius or something. Who knew?
Yes but blind squirrel rule applies. All of his other hires are terrible.

To call Warde’s handling of the Mel Pearson fiasco incompetence is an insult to incompetent people everywhere.
Apparently Nebraska is another team that considers us their rival. This provocative headline to a garbage article feels like stuff from sparty or buckeye fans. But Nebraska? They don’t register to a Michigan fan. It sure is good to be king 🤴🏿
Nebraska football rival keeps hemorrhaging coaches

Considering they are hemorrhaging athletic directors, they should probably focus on their glass house.

Nebraska is hemorrhaging wins.
I find the sub-header interesting: "means only 4 remain". I couldn't find a study on this in a short search, but if I had to guess: 4 might actually be a high number of coaches to remain after the head coach takes another job.
Oh, that's rich. Husker Corner citing Eleven Warriors in an article about Michigan football. I doubt we've ever seen this kind of collusion against a single team in the history of the Big 10.
Nebraska football won’t face the new look Michigan staff in 2024, unless they meet in the Big Ten Championship.
This second part of this sentence is just clutter and should have been removed by the editor. Somebody must have forgot to tell Husker fans that the Big Ten West no longer exists.
After a month or so of people throwing tantrums on here, it all seemed to work itself out. Go figure.
I would totally buy that shirt, just for angry wolverine dude on the right.
I must say I'm pleasantly surprised in Moore's ability as a neophyte to put together (in a timely manner) a pretty damn good staff and retain star players despite great coaching exodus.
I credit Warde.

You need to be cancelled.
Having gone through all the comments here, despite knowing that I would find plenty of thoughts regarding Warde's inability to get off his ample posterior and complete a task, as well as complaints about the negative ethos within this community when it comes to the Athletic Director, I thought long and hard before posting this thought.
Finally, I came to the following conclusion. Screw it, the guy is an albatross. I'm posting.
Were Warde an influence on Sherrone in his hiring, you would know it for sure. We'd have no staff on D for spring practice.
