Sad to see him go, but go get paid big guy!
January 12th, 2024 at 9:49 PM ^
Excellent music choice, especially at the very end when the lyrics come in.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:17 PM ^
Good luck Kris, thank you the Natty, 3 B1G championships and destroying 🅾️su 3 years in a row.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:21 PM ^
Makes sense. He'll have a good NFL career and he leaves a champion. Good luck.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:21 PM ^
Gonna be a solid rotation guy and team player.
I really appreciate him and guys like him for giving so much after sticking around.
Quite frankly, I always thought he was declaring anyway,.
Good luck in the NFL Kris!
January 12th, 2024 at 9:40 PM ^
To be honest, I didn’t even know he had the option to return
January 13th, 2024 at 9:00 AM ^
I think he’ll be MORE than just a solid rotation guy. Depending on the team he goes to I think he’ll be a disruptive force in their run defense and if he’s got great DE help he can be a terror in their pass rush. He’s very quick, strong, and has a jump on many other DTs by playing in a NFL-type defense.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:21 PM ^
Best of luck KJ!!!
Thanks for sharing your talents with MICHIGAN!!!!
January 12th, 2024 at 8:31 PM ^
It's sad seeing all these guys go to the draft. But I'll be the first one to shit on someone for complaining about it. They earned it. They deserve it. And I hope everyone that goes has a good time in the League, makes some money, and has more memories that can never be taken away.
Good luck to you Kris (and everyone else) - I'll be watching, cheering, and loving every minute of your pro career!
January 12th, 2024 at 8:56 PM ^
But what about US??? Doesn't he care about US??????
January 12th, 2024 at 8:33 PM ^
Glad to see them all head to the draft. Those that stayed were champions!
Could be a fun Spring/Early summer t with all our drafted guys on it!
Make it happen Seth/Brian

im sad but understandable
January 12th, 2024 at 8:35 PM ^
Jenkins is such a dog now. Plus he’s a senior so no reason to pursue another year. He’s going to make some NFL team really happy.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:35 PM ^
I think he is perfect example of how selfless this team is. He is and elite veteran player. He seemed genuinely happy to share his success with the younger and equally talented guys. The Team, The Team, The Team.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:37 PM ^
He’s going to be a good NFL player. One of many from team 144!
January 12th, 2024 at 8:40 PM ^
Man, bittersweet only because I’m going to miss these guys. They are champions on and off the field and this was a magical year. Go get that NFL payday and may you have a great NFL career. Make Michigan proud!
January 12th, 2024 at 8:48 PM ^
To me Jenkins was the start of the rise of the defense.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:48 PM ^
We had a lot of guys who had such infectious smiles and you could see the joy on their faces. Jenkins however, every single time you saw his face he was grinning ear to ear. Truly seemed like he was having the time of his life. Heck of a player. Go get paid Champion!
January 13th, 2024 at 7:11 AM ^
I could see Jenkins being the TV analyst of the crew. Dudes got a ton of personality and charisma. Would look good on TV next to future US Senator Mike Sanristil
January 13th, 2024 at 9:47 AM ^
I think he photo bombed the CFP selection show by the B1G trophy stand every time for the last 3 years. One of my favorite players and personalities on the team.
January 12th, 2024 at 8:59 PM ^
He's the mutant, and an elite DT.
Somehow, UM has 2 probably just as good returning (Graham, Grant)
I'm curious to see how Benny fits into the rotation next year and if we can keep a 3 headed monster up front again.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:01 PM ^
I'm happy for the young man and he deserves every blessing coming his way!!! Hard work!!!
January 12th, 2024 at 9:01 PM ^
I’m just curious, but for guys like Kris, Zak, and Jaylen, weren’t they out of eligibility and had to head to the draft anyway?
Not trying to be a douche, but I thought for guys like Kris, it wasn’t any big secret that this was his final year.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:31 PM ^
There are covid years available for some of these guys, but at some point you top out and it's time to move on for the good of your career. For Kris and Zak and stuff it wasn't any secret that this was on the table; Zak returning this year was itself a matter of question.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:18 AM ^
Not sure "topped out" is the right way to say this.
January 13th, 2024 at 7:23 AM ^
Jenkins was a true freshman in the Covid year, so he had a year of eligibility remaining.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:06 PM ^
Another 3 star, another NFL draft pick. The Michigan Method.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:25 PM ^
Most of the folks here at Mgoblog were disappointed that he was our DT in that class and were worried that we'd have to keep playing Jordan Glasgow at DT. I hope we've all learned to trust the scouting of the coaches now...
January 12th, 2024 at 11:04 PM ^
Not those of us who are regular listeners to WTKA—Sam Webb was talking up Jenkins even before he committed, saying he was way underrated.
January 13th, 2024 at 2:51 AM ^
Having watched his father play in the NFL (oh sh*t I’m getting old now), I was never concerned he wouldn’t pan out. Glad to be right for once. Emphasis on once.
January 13th, 2024 at 6:57 AM ^
Jenkins was TINY for a DT when he came out of high school. He was under 240 lbs iirc. I think any doubters just had questions about whether he could get big and strong enough to play at an elite level. Credit to him, he did the work to get there. Credit to Ben Herbert and the S&C staff.
Starzzz aren't everything, gotta have that dog and Jenkins does. He's going to be a good pro and is very much another guy I'd love to see the Lions draft.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:12 AM ^
With his genes there should have been little doubt.
January 13th, 2024 at 12:30 PM ^
You are right there was some disappointment, not at all with Jenkins just with the desire to get a DT that could contribute right away. He wasn't highly rated by the recruiting sites, but as the son of 4x NFL Pro Bowl DT Kris Jenkins and nephew of longtime starting NFL DE/DT and Super Bowl champ Cullen Jenkins, there was plenty of optimism about his potential once he bulked up (he was listed at only 240 lbs at the time).
Jordan Glasgow was a S/LB, I think you got him mixed up with another walk-on younger brother in Jess Speight, or maybe 250 lb FB turned DT Ben Mason.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:17 PM ^
"Those who stay will be champions" becomes null and void once you're already a champion. Go on and dominate the NFL Kris. We are beyond thankful you are a Michigan Man and for all of the amazing memories. Go get paid and kick some ass
January 12th, 2024 at 9:30 PM ^
Honestly, all I can think of is how happy I am for him.
January 12th, 2024 at 9:34 PM ^
Heckuva player. That video of him with his mama is pure wholesome internet gold
January 12th, 2024 at 9:54 PM ^
I was in class with a lot of the football players in the mid-late 90s, but I don't know if I've ever felt so attached to a group of players like the ones leaving this year and next. These guys lived through the COVID season and some of them remember what it was like to lose to OSU.
One of the benefits to selling a transformational culture is getting guys willing to commit to a multi-year plan and watching them evolve into men in front of your eyes. I think this is about the first graduating class I could look at and say these guys are young enough to be my son. So yeah, I kinda have proud daddy vibes looking at these dudes move on.
January 12th, 2024 at 10:05 PM ^
He's ready for the nfl, but the nfl is not ready for him. Happy trails, young man.
January 12th, 2024 at 11:20 PM ^
Kill it in the pros, you love to see it after such a dominating year.
January 12th, 2024 at 11:56 PM ^
Not bad for a 3*. Guess Harbaugh is coaching them up.
January 12th, 2024 at 11:59 PM ^
After a long and successful NFL career, I really hope we get to see Kris in front of the camera full time. This guy is as charismatic as they come.
January 13th, 2024 at 12:10 AM ^
Like a young Shaq!
January 13th, 2024 at 12:44 PM ^
Kris would make his free throws. Coach Herb world be sure of that.
January 13th, 2024 at 12:09 AM ^
Man these guys, imagine in 2020 thinking we would be sending out a number of guys with 3 big ten rings, 3 OSU wins, and a frickin natty!
January 13th, 2024 at 1:46 AM ^
I'll miss you bud. I hope you kill it in the NFL, best of luck.
January 13th, 2024 at 6:17 AM ^
Perfect time to go. Dude is a beast and will be missed next season for sure. Would have been cool if he stayed, to help offset some of the guys at OSU that are staying, but that's just me being selfish.
January 13th, 2024 at 7:10 AM ^
One more step and he would have scored a TD this year. I would have been so pumped if he had scored
