We snapped Washington Huskies' 21-game winning streak overall
I'm well-versed in Michigan's statistical history but help me out here fellow historians. Was this the longest winning streak we snapped since 1969 OSU (I'm pretty sure OSU's in 1969 was longer at 22 games)? And what was the longest in between then and now?

Snapping OSU's 11 game winning streaks on an annual basis has been pretty fun as well.

1503 games since ohio beat Michigan.

i know you meant 'days', but 'games' reads way, way better.

I wonder if they experienced some bad flashbacks watching the two Donovan Edwards TD runs during the NC game?
January 11th, 2024 at 11:41 PM ^
Probably not because they were half as long.

More than 2.1 million minutes and I'm enjoying them all.

It appears that between the last 4 games of 1967, ten games of 1968 and the first 8 games of 1969, OSU had a 22 game win streak that Michigan snapped.
Edit: As you noted.
I thought maybe Miami coming off a national championship but they only had an 11 game streak.

Did you just give me homework?

I believe that Michigan has the longest winning streak in the country now...15. We also have a 31 game B1G winning streak dating all the way back to that piece of crap game against Sparty in 2021. My how time flies when you are having fun!
January 11th, 2024 at 10:34 PM ^
Uh your math is a bit off there. 9 this year, 9 last year, 4 in 2021 (b1g title games don't count iirc). That's 22, not 31. 31 would set a new record. We could get there this year if we win out!!! I think the record is 29 or something by osu.
January 11th, 2024 at 10:41 PM ^
Isn’t the current record ours at 29?
January 11th, 2024 at 11:30 PM ^
29 is more than three full big ten seasons, so we can't have a 29 game big ten streak.
January 12th, 2024 at 1:30 AM ^
Correct, but I also didn’t say this streak…

Why doesn't the Conference Championship game count as a conference win for this streak? 10 this year, 10 last year, 5 in 2021 gets us to 25 straight conference wins.
January 12th, 2024 at 12:21 AM ^
I'm guessing its because there didn't use to be conference championship games, to keep it apples to apples. Or maybe only 2 get to play in the game so not everyone has a chance. Not really sure but almost positive it doesn't.

It counts for sure. Osu’s record counts championship games.
January 12th, 2024 at 2:40 AM ^
It counts for sure. Doesn’t matter if OSU can count. FIFY

The gravity of this soul breaking is rippling through football at many levels. Who knows... character might even come back in fashion.

We didn’t just snap it. We exposed the “deep pac”. They say Penix was off while I say we beat the snot out of him in a way he hasn’t ever been beaten. We made him off from the 1st snap and he’s still hearing the foot steps of Graham and Grant. I can’t believe I’m typing and giving credit to Dbagtonio but our D reminded me very much of some of his roided monster lines he had that would control games no matter who they faced.

I can't think of another Michigan team that snapped a significant streak, but Harbaugh's Stanford team beat USC to snap a 35 game home winning streak.
