Channel Your Inner Brutus, Warde
There are plenty of committee members that have no love for the SEC. Work behind the scenes, and sharpen those knives, Warde. Let the media boast about Bama being in. But when it’s time to vote for the Tide, plunge those knives deep and true. For the republic knows it should be FSU.

Fuck Bama, their 15 minutes are up
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:20 AM ^
15 years*
But there will be only one school represented in the Playoffs every year in the last 3 seasons.
Goodbye Bama, Georgia, OSU, and Clemson. It’s Michigan again, Michigan.
December 3rd, 2023 at 1:14 AM ^
15m, 15yrs…but yeah. It’s up.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:11 AM ^
Wards is in those meetings to get coffee orders and that’s it!
December 3rd, 2023 at 1:43 AM ^
Donuts
December 3rd, 2023 at 6:35 AM ^
Pretty sure by now the committee knows not to trust Warde with the donuts.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:13 AM ^
We're getting bama. Book it. Own it. Know they're not as good as they once were but.... You come for the king, you best not miss
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:15 AM ^
I'd rather play Bama than Texas. Which is likely who we would play if they keep the three undefeated teams at the top.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:22 AM ^
If FSU makes it, they will be 4.
They won’t, sadly. It’ll be:
1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Alabama
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:32 AM ^
I agree. It's really unfortunate for FSU that their QB is out. They're in a Power 5 conference and undefeated, but I think the committee will not have them in the top 4. Reminds me of 1973 when we were screwed out of a Rose Bowl trip after Dennis Franklin's injury. Seminoles will be rightfully pissed
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:42 AM ^
I dunno
I think they have to include an undefeated FSU. Alabama or Texas will lose out. Because of the coincidence that Bama’s only loss is to Texas, the longhorns should be in.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:15 AM ^
Warde cant help shit.
FSU praying to the great Jobu to get that 4th spot....
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:24 AM ^
It’s very bad to steal Jobu’s rum. It’s very bad….
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:16 AM ^
I'm just enjoying the ride. We're in and have a shot to win it all. Bring it on.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:17 AM ^
I think you have to have an undefeated winner of a Power 5 conference in the Championship mix. It would be insane to set that precedent at this point - they would be signaling the death knell of the ACC to leave them out.
1) Michigan
2) Washington
3) Texas/FSU
4) FSU/Texas
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:21 AM ^
Given the change in format next year, this would be the perfect time for such a precedent.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:25 AM ^
That’s the kicker: they’re setting no precedent by leaving Florida State out, because next year and going forward it doesn’t matter.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:25 AM ^
I'll be disappointed if those aren't the 4. You've got 3 13-0 P5 champions. They have to be in, full stop. I don't see how Texas isn't 4 with their head to head win over Alabama.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:29 AM ^
But, but, but... that was in September. You can't count that, it's basically the preseason.
/s (if necessary)
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:37 AM ^
Early season games don't matter, but previous seasons do.
-SEC logic
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:17 AM ^
I hate OSU, but their 2 best wins are better than either Alabama's or Georgia's. Inflating a middling Missouri team, or a middling Ole Miss team, or a piss poor Tennessee doesn't make beating them into great wins.
Here's how it should be:
1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. FSU
4. Texas
----
5. Oregon
6. OSU
7. PSU
8. Alabama
9. Georgia
10. Oklahoma
11. Ole Miss
12. LSU
13. Missouri
I don't really care after that. But Missouri and TN were inflated by about 4 spots each, and for obvious reasons. Sad.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:27 AM ^
You say that Mizzou and TN are overrated and then in the same breath rank PSU at 7… 🧐
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:35 AM ^
Penn State is not better than Missouri.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:40 AM ^
Oregon got beat twice by the same team. They cannot be 5. OSU did not have two good victories. ND sucks. PSU cannot beat anyone with a good QB. PSU is probably a top 15 team but no way a top 10 team.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:52 AM ^
I'd take PSU over FSU right now.
December 3rd, 2023 at 10:11 AM ^
But isn't a #5 expected to lose two close games to #2??
December 3rd, 2023 at 8:29 AM ^
Tennessee is overrated, but Missouri is good.
December 3rd, 2023 at 9:29 AM ^
Ole Miss is not bamas best win…
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:22 AM ^
It will be UT and Bama. All the talking heads saying it and wanting it.
That said, can’t stand the criteria of best “current” team. In that respect, doesn’t matter that Bama shit themselves against USF, Arkansas. Essentially, telling CFB world the beginning of the season is largely irrelevant.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:27 AM ^
You are taking human bias over an undefeated acc champ. You are guessing that Alabama is much better but what about Texas whooping them? What about Auburn and USF challenging them? If Alabama was so fucking good why were they behind FSU 4 spots last week? You think FSU got worse by winning their conference championship. What you are doing is saying you lied last week and that is what is unacceptable.
December 3rd, 2023 at 1:00 AM ^
I should have clarified, Tex and Bama being in is what I think will happen, not what I think *should* happen. FSU should be in and Bama watch them play from home.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:27 AM ^
And what is "best" if it isn't actually decided on the field? Do we just take vegas favorites at that point?
Deciding it on the field is the only appropriate way. Has to be best record.
December 3rd, 2023 at 10:12 AM ^
Sure but Texas Alabama and Georgia all have a loss each, they all have the same record.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:28 AM ^
That only works for Bama and the SEC. No other conference gets that benefit of the doubt.
December 3rd, 2023 at 8:31 AM ^
Bama at its best is very, very good. But they frequently don’t play their best.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:22 AM ^
The fact that everyone on here wants to play FSU shows why Bama is going to get the spot.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:27 AM ^
Yeah, the third spot
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:26 AM ^
Lets say we FSU gets in. They would put Washington #1 and give us the tougher matchup.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:32 AM ^
Washington maintained their resume they didnt build it. If Washington was better than U OF M it should showed in the rankings after our first 9 games. You think Washington did anything better than beating Osu Iowa and Penn st the last 4 weeks? Oregon is basically PSU in the rankings world now.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:55 AM ^
I do not believe Washington is better than us. I didn't believe Georgia was better than us. The committee doesn't care. Michigan is hated. OSU wasn't better than us and they jumped us after the MD game. The committee would try to make it harder for us to win the title. That is all im saying.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:27 AM ^
Fuck the SEC, and all the homerism and posturing and campaigning that goes along with them. I want to get matched up against FSU, and see the cheatingest conference in the country get the shaft. I just wouldn't put money on it. The press, coaches, the cfp committee, and even the majority of this blog, has done the wrong thing all season, and insisted on Georgia. Georgia has been propped up, over even us, based on what other players did in other seasons, instead of what teams did in 2023. The most likely outcome is for that to continue. If they didn't put us #1 after we pummeled an Ohio State, then they'll put the team that beat Georgia in over the remains of Florida State.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:27 AM ^
Complete bullshit that our spineless commissioner couldn’t say one fucking word about the team or this season in general. Even Kevin Warren would say something. Fuck, even Archie is man enough to take the playful booing.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:46 AM ^
He really has no business being the commissioner of a major athletic conference, or any athletic conference, for that matter.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:29 AM ^
One thing that's really great.
Ohio State won't be in the playoff.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:34 AM ^
1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. Texas 4. FSU
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:37 AM ^
Betting futures are saying...
Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama
EDIT: I mistakenly was lookling at the National Championship odds. Making the playoff now actually shows: MICHIGAN, WASHINGTON, FSU, TEXAS
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:41 AM ^
FSU is going to get their No. 2 QB back before the CFP - this version of FSU was *still* able to win with their 3rd string QB, but I hope the committee realizes that FSU is going to have their backup available by then.
Not holding my breath, though. Also, that FSU defense is no slouch either - would probably be the second best behind Michigan's in the playoff.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:56 AM ^
That is actually a good point. Still.... I think you'd need to go down the list a ways before FSU would be favored head to head with their 2nd string QB. Farther than 5th.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:38 AM ^
I'm sorry and the committee may not agree but I completely disagree with the eye test being used to describe the four best teams.
Seriously??? Did anyone think Cincy was one of the four best?? No! That was resume - evidence-based earned and deserved.
How many of those committee eye testers thought Oregon would top Washington???
The eye test is bullshit. Your resume is who you are and what you deserve.
And people are talking about Bama firing on all cylinders. I'm sorry but as far as I'm concerned they lost to Auburn last week. A 6-6 squad who gave them a W anyways because the only team Auburn hates more than Bama is themselves.
If Bama really wanted in they had their chance to beat Texas and they lost. They don't deserve to get in over FSU who proved it every week on the field - no eye tests involved.
Any conference, any school, anyone would scream injustice at going undefeated in Power Five and being left out because somebody wanted to say they suffered a critical injury and they didn't deserve the opportunity to prove their mettle in the Big dance because of the eye test.
The best is not the eye test. It is your resume. Having the best win is not enough when it's paired with a ten point home loss to another contending squad and a virtual loss on the last week of the regular season when you were only bailed out by arguably the dumbest defensive play-call in modern history. Seriously, Auburn worked very hard to call the worst possible defense that could ever be imagined and they bailed out Bama.
Oh, and I've given a lot of slack to Warde because I'm not inside the program. But now he's on this committee. Not only does FSU deserve to be in, but M wants it too. He had better make sure the right result is made or he's lost me forever.
