B1G was going to drop suspension to Two Games
Until the new evidence came out.

They'll probably add two more for grins.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:02 PM ^
It's coming. The B1G can do whatever it wants to Michigan.
I wonder if our 'friend' on the NCAA Infractions Committee (or whatever it is called) made certain to tell the B1G about Partridge in order to stop the suspension from being reduced?
November 17th, 2023 at 1:21 PM ^
The part of me that wants to cling to reason and fairness thinks that after firing Partridge and accepting the shit sandwhich, the BIG will reduce the suspension to 2 and let Harbaugh coach against OSU.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
Good one.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:52 PM ^
A man can dream....
November 17th, 2023 at 3:04 PM ^
I’m sure the B1G was aware of the Partridge misconduct before it was released to the public but typically, folks don’t reduce sanctions after more infractions are committed. Typically…
November 17th, 2023 at 1:57 PM ^
With how they are folding, it wouldn't shock me if we beat OSU next week and then the school vacates the win when the B1G/NCAA didn't ask. They will do more self harm then defend themselves it seems.
November 17th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
As long as Michigan beats OSU, I don't care what they do afterward.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:39 PM ^
awesome.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:40 PM ^
Great. Fantastic.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:40 PM ^
Just. Make. It. Stop.
November 17th, 2023 at 3:14 PM ^
I’m tired boss.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:41 PM ^
That's just more evidence that Petitti is in totally over his head. Can you imagine the reaction from the rest of the conference if he reduced the suspension over Michigan's legal threats?
And the NCAA feeding information to the Big Ten investigation before giving Michigan any notice of a finding of wrongdoing just goes to show how compromised all this is. Michigan deserves punishment for anything they've done wrong, but this entire thing has been a massive screw job by all parties involved making up rules as they go.
November 17th, 2023 at 3:30 PM ^
Apparently Ohio State was lobbying for the suspension to be reduced too. I imagine this is because Ryan Day doesn't want to be fired if he loses.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:42 PM ^
Fuck the NCAA
November 17th, 2023 at 12:48 PM ^
...for what? Blame Partridge, the booster involved, and Stallions, man. Take some accountability
November 17th, 2023 at 12:51 PM ^
At this stage is safe to say the NCAA likely knows more about what has occurred than Harbaugh does. The NCAA however instead of coming right out seems to leverage the information systematically to maximize damage. Hardly seems like what you should do to your member school.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:59 PM ^
Regardless of how the information is released, this shit is getting old and it's getting harder and harder to defend the staff at this point. I'd love to sit back and keep talking shit about the NCAA but UM seems dead set on giving them more ammo.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:09 PM ^
Why? I mean, stallions was a nut job. Ok. He’s an overzealous guy with misapplied enthusiasm. That WAS the only real issue. Partridge then decided to do something stupid. Why are you projecting that to the entire staff?
November 17th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
over sign stealing.
Perspective has been completely lost.
November 17th, 2023 at 6:57 PM ^
Wouldn’t Rutgers and OSU be considered in season in person scouts if they gave our signs to Purdue? On the other hand, do the rules exclude the championship game?
November 17th, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
I submit it's even worse. You're talking about professionals colluding to help Purdue.
November 17th, 2023 at 3:29 PM ^
Exactly, the old Mark Twain adage “It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”. That’s how I feel about all of our insiders. Tired of all of this nonsense and just please rip the bandaid off and get it over with. Taken a lot of steam and fun out of a really good team.
November 17th, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
"Insiders." Lol. Radio hosts, authors and message board monitors are not insiders. Kudos to Balas - he's the only guy getting this right.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:46 PM ^
Yes, but remember that it's arguably a technical rules violation for a rule that provides little/no advantage and was going to be removed years ago. Meanwhile, many other forms of "cheating" have occurred for years and the NCAA was incompetent or looked the other way. Suddenly now the NCAA is all over this and moving ahead quickly and efficiently? I smell a rat.
November 17th, 2023 at 3:37 PM ^
No it’s a clear violation of a dumb rule. Regardless of how think about the rule, it was broken. There has been no denying from anyone connected with the program that rules weren’t broken. The whole argument has been about if Jim knew. As far as other cheating, has nothing to do with this. We got caught, let’s take our medicine and go forward. And by all means learn how to vet potential staff better in the future. Our athletic department has had more than its share in the spotlight of negativity. Time to get it cleaned up.
November 17th, 2023 at 2:04 PM ^
“Take some accountability” is applicable to the folks involved, so more accurately “properly assign the accountability”.
Correct to not blame the NCAA. How about, “To hell with the rule breakers.”
November 17th, 2023 at 12:50 PM ^
nah, fuck everyone who's even flirted with the wrong side of the rules.
November 17th, 2023 at 2:49 PM ^
Nope, in this case some booster who thought he was smarter than the field, along with a low level fanatical staffer, with his immediate coach he reported to hoodwinked us all. Eff them, but especially eff the financier(s). All the Ed Martin links and feels to this episode.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:42 PM ^
Honestly, fuck all the people that were involved, including the ones we don't yet know about, if there are any more. This may be a small infraction in the scheme of things but boy, did it screw us, and it wasn't necessary.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:49 PM ^
That's where I'm at. Risk/reward here is just so much less favorable than something like buying elite players
November 17th, 2023 at 1:04 PM ^
Perhaps hiring decision should be made based on the candidates ability to exercise good judgment, not just enthusiasm
November 17th, 2023 at 3:32 PM ^
No it's important that Harbaugh hire his old coach's fail son and some dipshit marine who used to drink with his son.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:52 PM ^
Yep, you know how people say, “I love … whatever to death”? I’ll now always think of some psycho that UM hired and took down the program for at least a year because he was fucking stupid and did something he could have done legally by watching fucking TV! Fuck off CS.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:17 PM ^
Who the fuck goes in Stubhub/TicketIQ/etc and buys tickets to future opponents games using their own name/account. This is how I knew it did not go too far up the ladder. Plus the fact you can get better video from TV broadcast, then from an iphone that is 60 yards away. smh, so over this!
November 17th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
took down the program for at least a year
Wait, what?
Pretty sure we're 10-0 and projected to make the CFP.
All of this is annoying but may not matter much as long as we win the next two games.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:58 PM ^
edit:" ... the next five games."
November 17th, 2023 at 12:55 PM ^
This is my biggest take on this too. Was it really necessary? The only team to advance scout is OSU and not every damn team. Using venmo... wtf.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:19 PM ^
That he was scouting Rutgers and Indiana is how I knew Jim wasn't signing off on this
November 17th, 2023 at 1:16 PM ^
Preach Wendyk5
100% accurate take
November 17th, 2023 at 2:22 PM ^
" It wasn't necessary. "
That is the most infuriating part of this whole debacle. What were they thinking?
November 17th, 2023 at 2:35 PM ^
People looking to advance themselves. When all they really had to do was trust the players.
November 17th, 2023 at 9:19 PM ^
Yep -- this team would be 10-0 right now without any of this, and the players (and students/fans) deserve to enjoy that without any hint of an "asterisk" from anyone. Also, Michigan has sustained reputational damage that will stick with it of a long time. It's hugely overblown, but reputational damage often is, and it didn't have to be this way.
None of this lessens my anger at the Big Ten, but this wouldn't have happened if everyone involved had simply done their jobs.
November 17th, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
Curious that “new information” seems to always come out to maximize damage to Michigan.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:32 PM ^
Whether intentional or not, it looks like the hearing was a way to force the B1G and NCAA to show their cards. Wondering if the B1G or NCAA were slowly dripping this stuff out for maximum effect?
November 17th, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
It becomes easier to connect the dots.
BT thought MI would roll over, timing of suspension all but assured JH out for PSU game.
They "overcharged" to 3 game suspension knowing they could plea bargain down to a
2 game if MI pushed back. Partridge idiocy blows that up.
November 17th, 2023 at 1:06 PM ^
Timing is consistent with the prior reports that Pettiti had been "waffling" prior to Partridge info
November 17th, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
I don't believe the Big Ten at all, this is just taunting us for the sake of taunting us
November 17th, 2023 at 1:02 PM ^
Either way, the B1G shouldn't have even been involved at this point. I just want rid of them. We're already rid of the actual cheaters, or we will be soon, so now let's get rid of the piece of shit environment we're in.
