U-M @ Maryland game-time: not a night game
Whether it's 12 Noon, 3:30 or 4:00 for the kickoff though --- that is still TBD. The dreaded 6-day hold.
Nebraska @ Wisconsin is the NBC night game, FWIW (Wisconsin folk don't mind cold November nights at all).

Looks like a Brando special to me.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
Brando gonna need some hair of the dog if it's a noon kick

It's good to put Neb @ Wisc as the late game. Small children should never be put in a situation where they could see that.

Ugh. I really could have used some clarity on this game today. Dreaded 6-day hold is exactly right. :(
November 6th, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
It's really BS that they put 6-day holds on games like MSU/Indiana and Purdue/NW.
A 6-day hold on Michigan --- I get it, find the optimal time for TV ratings and money.
Those other games, though --- there are diehards, family and friends who want to be there. And now we put them on hold from making plans for another 6 days. And for what?

Big Noon is between Michigan or Penn State, so I would lean Michigan there. Maybe they give it to the winner of this weekend's game.

I suspect that's exactly what this is. Looking over the rest of the games that are currently either set for noon or unscheduled, I don't see any matchups FOX would pick outside of the Pac-12, which isn't going to schedule 9 AM kicks. Cincinnati @ WVU and Baylor @ TCU don't have any intrigue. FOX doesn't have an SEC contract, so they can't pick up Georgia @ Tennessee.
K-State @ Kansas is a potential Top 25 matchup, I guess, but I can't imagine any FOX exec would pick that over an undefeated Michigan in its last tune-up for OSU.
So I suspect it's win-and-you're-at-noon.

Same, as I was considering driving out there for it. From Columbus, that's going to be about 6-7 hours depending on traffic, how many times I stop, etc. It really be helpful to know if I could plan to leave the morning of, or if I'd need to come in the night before and get a hotel.
My basic point is this: why can't CFB announce game times ahead of the season like every other sport in the world? It's so irritating. Even when you're not going to a game, it would help when you're simply trying to plan ahead.

I'm guessing 3:30.... Md time.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:09 PM ^
I hope so. I'm going to the game and that is the ideal time for going to games in-person. It gives you time to get there, walk around, tailgate, etc. before the game. Then the game ends in enough time that you aren't getting home after midnight.

Normally I would agree, but for this particular game, my transportation options really fall apart if the game ends after 4:30 PM. And given that, if they take care of business against Penn State, this is potential win #1000, I really want to be there.
November 6th, 2023 at 4:48 PM ^
If they take care of business against Penn State, this is win #1000. FIFY.
All snark aside, that's a great point and I had not even thought of that. Would be amazing to attend win #1000 in person.

Hope it's noon. It's been really cold at the Maryland stadium those times that the game has started at 4:30.
November 6th, 2023 at 1:56 PM ^
Felt like it was already halfway dark at the start of the game when we played there two years ago, which was also a late November game.
Loved that pass back to AJ Henning on the kickoff going for the score.

We made great use of Edwards as a receiver in that game. I hope to see more of that down the stretch this season.

Now that we're off daylight time, the sun is going down around 5 PM, and it's getting cool. On a positive note, though, the highs are still near 70. At the moment, it's 5:30PM, dark outside and 60 degrees.

Good news, I can live with anytime other then another night game.

Does this mean no boycott?

Well played rob f...well played.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:12 PM ^
Probably indicates NBC doesn't expect this to be much of a game.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:26 PM ^
Good news. Michigan should win going away but the fact it’s a day game only helps.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:33 PM ^
I think this is good news, the offense hasn't played as well in night games this year.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:36 PM ^
They're going to have to win a night game to win the National Championship (or B1G championship for that matter)
November 6th, 2023 at 3:08 PM ^
Get your point, but 52 v Minny and 49 v MSU (with 7 taken off board at the half) were pretty good... What's true is that 2 of the 4 least-impressive were night games (other 2 being ECU and UNLV to start season) and 2 of 4 night games (BGSU & Purdue) were less impressive... Less impressive than ultra-impressive, that is. All that said: I get your point & basically agree: we can and will need to play better at night than we have in 50% of our night games.
November 6th, 2023 at 3:15 PM ^
Perhaps there is something about home night games that doesn't get us as fired up, but in road ones we've been fine.
November 6th, 2023 at 3:46 PM ^
Yeah, that's a good clarification.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:35 PM ^
Seems like Fox and FS1 are undecided between our game, Penn State v Rutgers, and Illinois v Iowa. Any idea why that would be? I'd assume they end up putting whichever they think is best at noon on Fox?
I'm going and trying to figure out logistics of getting down there from Philly, so any educated speculation would be appreciated
November 6th, 2023 at 4:51 PM ^
That's wild - I can see debating between our game and PSU's game given the size of the fanbases and where both teams are in the standings. But Illinois-Iowa? Why would any network want to show that? It's going to be a 10-7 game (I'm predicting a higher score than last year's matchup!) between two average-ish teams.
November 6th, 2023 at 2:46 PM ^
Good. Every night game at Maryland is bitter cold by the end and we end up frozen (my son never wants to leave early or even start moving to the exits).
Day game gives me hope, though in these parts, the winter damp/rain weather is looming! Hold out just 12 more days!

[embed fail] I just came here to say: yay! (I hate night games.) <insert awesome kid awesome happy-dancing here>
