I don't follow this closely but does Ryan Day vote? If so, where did he vote Michigan?
BTW - Michigan is -33 V Purdue early line
October 29th, 2023 at 3:57 PM ^
-33 feels low but when you consider Michigan will want to rest JJ and the first teamers as soon as possible, that is probably about right.
October 29th, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
I thought the opposite, -33 seems high considering Michigan has gotten off to slow starts at home. I'm expecting a 35-7 type game, keep everyone rested to unleash hell on field goal Franklin.

Plus we aren’t going to have their signs…
October 29th, 2023 at 8:00 PM ^
This: People don't realize the enormous benefit Michigan has had by doing the same thing every other team is doing.
October 29th, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
Pretty sure our backups can cover that spread.
October 29th, 2023 at 3:46 PM ^
Yes you can look it up somewhere but usually its assumed some staffer is submitting votes. No head coach is watching games
October 29th, 2023 at 4:34 PM ^
Jim Harbaugh and YouTube TV beg to differ
October 29th, 2023 at 4:44 PM ^
The OP expressed interest in knowing how Allen would have voted concerning Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State, three teams Indiana has actually played. I think it is reasonable to assume Allen was paying attention to what was happening on the field during those games.
October 29th, 2023 at 6:50 PM ^
That is definitely true. Im just saying the Indiana vote in the Coaches Poll wasnt coming from him but I think we know who he’d say was the best of the 3
October 29th, 2023 at 8:01 PM ^
Then Ol' Connor Stalion must be submitting Harbaugh's, since he apparently watches games.
October 29th, 2023 at 8:03 PM ^
You can look up who votes in the poll, but you can't look up how each coach (staffer) voted.
October 29th, 2023 at 3:48 PM ^
No - he is not among the 66 Coaches with a vote (this year).

ahh ok. That stinks.
A poster above responded that Ryan Day. How did he vote?
Is there a place where we can see how they voted?
October 29th, 2023 at 3:59 PM ^
Nope. Coaches poll only publicly releases ballots once a year (at the end).
October 29th, 2023 at 3:58 PM ^
Is this like a put a blind fold on and throw darts against a wall selector selection process?
October 29th, 2023 at 4:01 PM ^
Sort of. They apportion ballots to conferences (and independents), based roughly on the % of FBS they make up. Then randomly select the coaches from each conference from there. Coaches can opt out though, decline to be part of the draw.

Thanks for sharing

It doesn’t look like Harbaugh votes in the Coaches Poll this year either.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:06 PM ^
Day and Frames and not Harbaugh - of course
October 29th, 2023 at 4:06 PM ^
The coaches poll finally, thankfully became irrelevant when the BCS died.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:20 PM ^
As far as I'm concerned it became irrelevant in January 1998.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:52 PM ^
agreed
October 29th, 2023 at 5:16 PM ^
Totally agree. That was such an obvious tip of the hat to Osborne to honor him… not a good reason to hand a national championship to a team. Ugh… I’m still not over it
October 29th, 2023 at 5:44 PM ^
And he won by the slimmest margin (32-30) which seems suspicious. What were the odds that just enough coaches flipped their vote, thinking independently?
October 29th, 2023 at 7:54 PM ^
And there was one coach, widely speculated to be Fulmer, who voted us fourth.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:08 PM ^
There actually was a time in the not-so-distant past where this poll carried major weight in determining who made the NC game.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
There was a time in the not so distant past when this poll DETERMINED the national champion.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:31 PM ^
How did Phil Fulmer vote in that I forget.
October 29th, 2023 at 4:59 PM ^
6th or 7th, I think.
