UM #2 AP, more gains towards GA
UM still #2 in the AP. Now only 32 points behind GA. UM gained a few more first place votes.
https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll
If GA plays a lousy game vs FL expect UM to gain more on GA, although I suspect any kind of win vs FL will allow GA to remain #1 at after next weekend.
The Purdue game two weeks from now could finally be the week UM passes GA in the polls. UM dominates Purdue like UM has been dominating every other team, UM should finally pass GA.

I took the liberty of "fixing" your mile-long link by inserting the tweet itself.

I kept trying. I was getting the spinning wheel O death for minutes. I eventually gave up.

I would give you half my points if I could. Bless you.

While the Red River Shootout is always entertaining to watch, it is exhibit A why rivalry games in the middle of the season don't matter much. If Oklahoma screws up and Texas keeps winning they'll pass them. I wouldnt want The Game to have the same type of outcome.
October 23rd, 2023 at 8:54 AM ^
At the same time that's the exact same thing that happened to Michigan in 2021. They lost a close one to msu and won out the remainder of the season. If that game happens at the end of the season there's no telling what would have happened.

we are not too shabby

Just win. The rest will work itself out.

Not sure where my reply button went but if I could, I'd like to say the twitter video link softshoes posted above might be the best sports meme I've seen a good long while.

Win out and demolish the "physical" buckeyes and perhaps then the media love affair will be over!
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:13 PM ^
Which might set up a #1 Michigan against a #4 OSU in the first round of the CFP. A scenario discussed endlessly here and not one I would want to see under these circumstances.
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:36 PM ^
Not this year. The SEC champ (Bama or Georgia), the Pac-12 champ (likely Washington or Oregon), FSU, Oklahoma, and Texas will all be fighting for the remaining three spots.
October 22nd, 2023 at 9:03 PM ^
This year seems like a pretty good year to play osu twice, with how underwhelming they have looked. Of course, I would not want them to have the satisfaction of backing into the CFP (again)
October 22nd, 2023 at 2:34 PM ^
I’m not sure that dominating Purdue should be used as a yardstick.
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:36 PM ^
Yes, beating PSU on the road will move the needle a lot more.
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:53 PM ^
Don’t jump ahead. We have to beat Bye Week first. One game at a time.
October 22nd, 2023 at 4:07 PM ^
Dominate the bye week!!
October 22nd, 2023 at 6:40 PM ^
I can’t… will be shopping for a Mother of the Bride dress. This past weekend I asked where the Father of the Bride dresses were 😂 Got a few laughs out of that one! Good thing the wife was in the fitting room!
October 22nd, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
Michigan will pitch another shutout!
October 23rd, 2023 at 8:57 AM ^
Bye may end up in the red zone more than spartina but I dont see them scoring.
October 22nd, 2023 at 2:45 PM ^
The big question coming up is where people think we might end up on the first playoff ranking. Any guesses on the top five?
October 22nd, 2023 at 2:52 PM ^
I'm guessing Michigan, Georgia, Washington, Oklahoma as of today.
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:12 PM ^
Washington
Uhhh did you watch them last night?
October 22nd, 2023 at 4:06 PM ^
They had an impressive win over Oregon which is still top 10
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
They didn't score an offensive TD against Arizona State last night...
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:42 PM ^
Washington often struggles inexplicably with ASU. See 2017, 2022, and now this year. It's like their version of away games at Iowa.
I think they make the CFP, possibly at 13-0.
October 22nd, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
Assuming OSU beats Wisconsin, they'll be in the top 4. Advanced stats love them and they'll be 2-0 against teams ranked by the committee.
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:01 PM ^
They'll have two top ten wins. It will be UM, Georgia, OSU. The fourth - who knows? Maybe FSU?
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:00 AM ^
I hate to say it but UGA needs to stay #1. If anything for a mental advantage for Michigan staying at #2 keeps them chasing UGA. You think the dawgs wouldnt be pissed off if they dropped? No need to light that fire under them.
October 23rd, 2023 at 10:18 AM ^
I hate to say it, but I think OSU will be #1 in the first CFP ranking. They have the two "best" wins of the season.
The other three will be UM, Georgia, and FSU. Not sure what order.
Michigan keeps taking care of business and they'll eventually end up #1.
October 22nd, 2023 at 2:46 PM ^
1) Michigan will not pass Georgia until Nov 12, after thumping PSU in Slappy Valley. UGA is still undefeated and they are the 2 time champ. Until they lose, there is very little reason for them to lose the #1 spot...
2) I could care less whether Michigan moves to #1 until January 9th, that is the day I want them voted #1.... Until then....whatever...
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:07 PM ^
I want them #1 seed going into the playoffs for hypothetically an easier draw...and on Jan 9th as well.
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:07 PM ^
And also so we can choose to play in the Superdome, on artificial turf, rather than the natural grass of the Rose Bowl. Plus, N'awlins is more fun than LA.
October 22nd, 2023 at 5:37 PM ^
Oh you take the Rose Bowl. Do you know how many starved Michigan football fans live in SoCal. We would flood that place. Oh and a Rose bowl win for Coach Harbaugh.
October 22nd, 2023 at 7:08 PM ^
If that happens, I must just be there. I've attended every M Rose Bowl since 1964 and would welcome another victory. Got to tell you, Pasadena on Jan 1 is always my favorite day of the year. An afternoon-evening in the RB is always an amazing treat. The good Lord always provides a beautiful day and evening.
October 22nd, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
Please stay away, our rose bowl record sucks when you attend…
October 23rd, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
Great observation.
October 23rd, 2023 at 8:04 AM ^
The cfp will be four tossup undefeated conference champions, doesn't matter how the top four are seeded
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:02 AM ^
TCU was the "easier" draw and that meant nothing. The biggest fluke of a game I've ever seen.
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:18 PM ^
How much less could you care?
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:03 PM ^
Serious question:
Was that our MgoBlogger who got a dollar from College Football Final for wearing Michigan apparel at the OSU-PSU game?!?!
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:49 PM ^
I thought that too!
It would have been an epic troll if he brought binoculars with him and kept looking at the OSU sideline.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:03 AM ^
I wish I could have gave you 10 upvotes for this. Hilarious.
October 22nd, 2023 at 3:08 PM ^
Rankings are pretty much what they should be.
OU was getting beat most of that game and should have probably dropped a little in the poll but there's nowhere to drop them to.
