ESPN Available to Spectrum Subscribers Again
OT - Spectrum subscribers rejoice. Disney and Spectrum's parent company, Charter Communications, have finally reached a distribution deal, meaning Spectrum cable subscribers will once again be able to watch ESPN. Just in time for MNF (!)

Yay. Not "Yay!" but a solid "yay."

Salty take on this drama:
They all can choke on a bag of Mel Tucker's member. :)

My wife was irritated by the embargo and wanted me to call Spectrum to get our money back for August. #HappyWife

Sensible wife

You don’t say, just in time for Aaron Rodgers on MNF.

So stoked...J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

This looks an awful lot like Dunder Mifflin's old Stamford branch...

It’s actually really close by to the building used for the outside shots of the Dunder Mifflin Stamford office. You could walk there, though I wouldn’t want to be a pedestrian traversing the traffic as I-95 is immediately to the north of Spectrum’s HQ and the Stamford train station is also right there.

That still was the final straw for me. I'm old enough to be a bit slow on the change, but YouTube TV here I come.

Was the last Straw for me too. Pulled the plug on them last week, cancelled all service. Now all You Tube TV and streaming for us. A new Frontier for an Oldster like me.
September 11th, 2023 at 10:39 PM ^
Very clever pun. I see you have also embraced the Frontier of service.

Just a matter of time before a price hike or another debacle. I'm cutting the cord. They won't fool me twice.
September 11th, 2023 at 1:32 PM ^
Me too. I am as old school as it gets, but having 2 weekends of college football taken away from me was the final straw.

I know there's a joke in there somewhere about someone not having a phone...
September 11th, 2023 at 2:20 PM ^
Haha... No phone, no problems.

I've only been on TYYV for one year, but they've already raised the price from $65 to $73. I just looked and the price has doubled since its initial offering of $35/month in 2017. A little annoying because this is just the kind of thing that has led people to move from cable.
I guess the benefit is that you can just cancel when you don't plan on watching.
September 11th, 2023 at 1:52 PM ^
yeah. Eventually when I get tired of it I'll unsubscribe. Those cable companies and those damn agreements.

Sign up in August, sign off in Feb.

It's all relative. I'm paying over $200 with Spectrum. As you mentioned, I like the idea of conveniently unsubscribing for whatever reason. I could probably save a few months during offseason.

I often wonder how much of my monthly budget would be eaten up by TV/movie subscription services if I actually had/paid for all of them. Then I switch on my VPN and sip tea.

I am certain that, if people would turn the announcement over, they would see:
"Now, Cinemax subscribers, here's what happened, and before you get upset...."

F@#k Disney🖕🖕🖕
Would have liked to watch texas beat bama.....

Football always seems to be the X-factor that gets these deals done
September 11th, 2023 at 2:44 PM ^
I will not be rejoicing. I can only assume this means my cable bill is gonna go up up up next time Spectrum gets a chance
Fortunately my house has two cable options so I'm insulated, but it won't take much for me to try a streaming service again

It looks like us Spectrum customers are gonna get the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle for free.

Our long national nightmare is over.

Too late already canceled
