Was very bad.

1) No QB runs until desperation time.  Just running a lot of inside zone and expecting to be able to push around TCU.  No real attempt to mess with TCU's LBs in the first half.

2) Clock management on the second to last drive.  I'm fine with the timeout usage defensively on the ensuing TCU drive.  But the subbing to the jumbo package and back out with the clock running wasted a full minute.  With two minutes we can run less desperate passes.

3) Minter went full Knowles against a big play team.  Plays right into their hands.  Way too much zero blitzes.

Yep. I can forgive the aggressive nature when you’re down 2-3 scores and pure trying to make something happen. But when you’ve clawed back to being down 3 and have them in 3rd and 7 somewhat deep in their territory, a late safety blitz makes zero sense. Duggan was mostly inaccurate even when he had time. Should have kept things in front of us and made Duggan beat us with his arm. A first down there isn’t the end of the world either.

Of course it’s simplistic. But if you were to sum up both games in a paragraph, what would you say? The only difference is one game was against an elite team and we got our pants pulled down from start to finish and the other we choked against a slightly lesser opponent by blowing our own foot off despite several big plays offensively and defensively at times.

If these idiots don’t take a long hard look at their clock management and figure out how to  run tempo when behind or run a two minute drill then i give up. 7 years of piss poor clock management with 0 improvement

I fucking hate ESPN. All broadcast they wanted “sad Michigan fan”. And of course “trouble with the snap”. It’s a crime we’re forced to watch ESPN production.

Meh, my only question is who's the next HC when Jim goes to the Denver Broncos?  Hope it's someone that actually knows how to coach in the modern college football game.

I question not taking any points on the first drive of the game as well as the heavy blitzing that got the D roasted. That game was really exciting yet hard to watch.

The overturned TD will live in infamy. It was a horrible call. The ball is where the ball is when caught, not when the catch started. The field is 110 yards long not 100. If your body lands in the end zone after you make a catch. This is the difference in losing this game.

Is it the difference in losing this game?

21 points on Mullings fumble and JJ's (2) pick six's - as well as so many comedy of errors.  It was a full team effort, both players and coaches.

Very bitter ending to a season I did not expect to experience this year.  I am both thankful and disappointed.

The last time I felt like this was Trey Burke getting called for a foul on a clean block.

Doubtful we beat Georgia but I must now must hate watch Ohio and avoid the second most ultimate unacceptable outcome to this football season.

You are correct, but to not run your bread and butter "ruby scrum" play on 1st and goal from inside the 1 was the bigger crime...

Did the refs blow that call, certainly.  But the bigger issue was our play call and execution on the very next play.....

No one should dwell on that over turned call, we had the perfect opportunity to punch it in from inside the 1 and make is a 14-10 game.....

Complete coaching malpractice.

At least 10, and maybe 14 points, shit right down our leg with the fuckery inside the 10 yard line. The 4th down call on the opening drive was complete and utter horseshit that wouldn't even fly on the playground. Pitch it 3 times and end up with our TE on the 15 yard line? Fuck you.

Then there was play after the screwjob that stole 7 points from us. Apparently Edwards' nipples are going to fly off if we give him the ball at the 1. No, instead we need our 5th or 6th string LB with the ball. What, Mike Morris didn't want a carry?

Oh, but WHOOO'S GOT IT BETTER THAN US??!? STEAK AND MILK, BABY!!

Shove it up your ass.

This is a bit extreme for a 13-1 season that featured mostly good coaching, but I did lol at:

13-1, yes. But that does not excuse tonight's, um, coaching. Two drives where we pulled out the happy horseshit on the goal line. In what world is it acceptable to give the ball to our 6th string LB (and he's our #3 RB after Corum and Edwards, we've got some issues there, too), and for 4th and goal to end up with the TE with the ball outside the 10?

We tried to show how cute we were and got our peckers pounded, in front of God and everybody. I do not believe that calling tonight's festivities "coaching malpractice" is extreme.

We need to bring someone in to rebuild our passing game design from the ground up. And then the coaches need to be more intentional about developing said passing game.

I'd like to congratulate the coaches on costing the players the game. Refs were terrible, yes, they had a chance in the end, yes. But good lord the decisions made by the coaches were just epically bad.

First drive of the game that epically fucking stupid "trick" play was one of the worst playcalls I've ever seen.

Then you go pass happy for multiple drives after having Edwards gash them on the first drive. Why?

Then countlesss defensive calls failed hard. 3rd and 7 with momentum and you send the house when those blitzes have only.. ONLY hurt you the whole game and all you is need a stop.

You get some good QB runs and suddenly you have to do that for every play?

Time management continues to be a foreign language for these coaches. Whether it's the defense standing around waiting for an alignment call while TCU looks to snap the ball, or offense acting like they have all day to score under 5 min left in the game and not knowing the rules of out of bands not stopping the clock till the last few min.

I hate losing, I can understand when you're out played and can swallow that pill. But when your coaches just decide they don't know how the game works anymore. That I can't swallow.

While true, context matters. They went to the pass heavy almost immediately after that successful first drive. So yes, he didn't get much later, but you had a pick 6 and another pick that can be looked at as a pick 6 when barely trying the run. Michigan set the tone early and the tone was we aren't gonna do what we've been good at because of reasons...

Bring everyone back for 2023 and try again, what the fuck.

There's a real universe in which this game was 50-something to 37 in favor of Michigan.  They will have to sally forth with that knowledge, pick up the pieces, and hope that all this fucking nonsense goes their way next year.

We believed our own shit was so good we didn’t need to break tendencies. Not running JJ is criminal. Cutesy on the goal line. Blitzing 3 & long after coming within 3.

A terrible job all around by the coaches.

M_Born M_Believer

Didn't need to break tendencies?  Did you not see the play calls on the 4th and goal and the 1st and goal in the first half?  Both of those plays were NEVER ran before all season...

Yet in the 4th quarter, with 1st and goal after Bell was correctly called down short.  Mullens...Ruby scrum....easy TD.  That's tendencies......

The coaching staff over thought their game plans.  Too cute on offense at the goal line and too zero blitz happy on defense.  Both of those styles buck the entire season of tendencies...
