What's with former Wolverines in the NFL?
Watching the Steelers play the Chargers now. Three former Wolverines starting on the Steelers defense. Only Wormley introduced himself as being from Michigan. Devin Bush gave his high school, and Taco Charlton said, "Columbus, Ohio." What's going on with them?
This of all weeks, we need all hands on deck.
November 21st, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
You must be new to this.
Guys have been saying their high schools and whatnot for decades.
November 21st, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
Osu guys didn’t . Schofield also something about fox river…..
November 21st, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
Exactly, Bush is starting to piss me off and Taco sounded like an idiot for saying C'Bus, Ohio, shitheads.
At least Gentry also said Michigan.
November 21st, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
Man can’t imagine why guys don’t live their lives keeping fans like this happy as their top priority.
Maybe they didn’t like Michigan or enjoy their time here.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:09 PM ^
Well we all know how much you dislike Michigan, so I’m sure you can relate.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:17 PM ^
Devin Bush been pissing us Steeler fans off all season.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:34 PM ^
Yea Taco sounded like a prick. His rivals says Pickerington Central High, so that’s pretty shitty to say C’bus this week.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:47 PM ^
cant imagine why anyone would be least bit bothered by players repping their town where some spent 18 years before 4 years at college
November 21st, 2021 at 9:58 PM ^
Lol listen to yourself.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
The penguins and Steelers have always been teams you love to hate anyway
November 21st, 2021 at 10:02 PM ^
And Wormley said Michigan.
What's your point? This isn't new, you all whining about what grown men say when introducing themselves before a football game...is weird.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:14 PM ^
Fox River is hilarious. The main character in Prison Break was Michael Schofield and he was incarcerated at Fox River State Penitentiary. My wife and I laughed our asses off when he said that.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:43 PM ^
So this is like an inside joke built for like 10 total people? I'm all in on this.
Otherwise, I'm with the OP, we should all throw our TVs out the window in protest.
PS - Prison Break is that olderish former Fox show with the bald guy who can't act but women really like him right?
November 21st, 2021 at 9:10 PM ^
Sure, but it's pretty rare. Normally they name the college they went to - which was part of these introductions in the first place. TV announcers have always told us what college players went to, not the high school. So yours is a generically crap answer. Something pissed these guys off to completely bypass the school that got them into the NFL.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:11 PM ^
"So yours is a generically crap answer. Something pissed these guys off to completely bypass the school that got them into the NFL."
Or maybe it didn't.
UPDATE: Here's a link to a bunch of goofy intros: LINK.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:31 PM ^
We need some investigate journalism on this shit.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:00 PM ^
If you actually paid attention to the intros in SNF, and not just Michigan players, you'd know that guys not naming their college is far from uncommon.
November 21st, 2021 at 8:50 PM ^
And airplane peanuts? What’s the deal with airplane peanuts?
November 21st, 2021 at 8:50 PM ^
Ya I don’t usually get upset about this but tonight bothered me.
They know what week it is and Taco says Columbus. WTF.
Bush has always said his high school since being drafted, so that’s nothing new.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:10 PM ^
Maybe he said Columbus because he wanted to remind everyone he got the hell out. Everyone already knows he’s a Michigan product. Same with Devin.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:01 PM ^
I don't think why you would think it's common knowledge Taco Charlton went to Michigan. He's a bit player in the NFL, he wasn't exactly an household name across the country when at Michigan either. I'd say it's pretty likely a large % of viewers of SNF have no idea to which college he went to.
November 21st, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
Honestly - support the school that got your ass to the NFL. That is all.
November 21st, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
Michael Schofield (starting for the Chargers) said "Fox River State" as well. Apparently that is an homage to Prison Break?
November 21st, 2021 at 10:15 PM ^
Yes. Main character in Prison Break had the same name
November 21st, 2021 at 10:46 PM ^
That one is kind of funny.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:01 PM ^
Do they record them before each game or the season? Could have been from earlier in the season and they just replay them.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:20 PM ^
They're done in the off-season.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:03 PM ^
I can remember posting something like this a while back… Didn’t end well for me. I’d hope I took a beating for everyone else ??
November 21st, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
Have not logged into MgoBlog in a long time. I noticed this as well and was wondering what’s up?
November 21st, 2021 at 9:07 PM ^
maybe Taco lost a bet
November 21st, 2021 at 9:31 PM ^
A Michigan fan probably stole his Taco
November 21st, 2021 at 9:09 PM ^
Plenty of positive comments on twitter from each of them about the Wolverines!
November 21st, 2021 at 9:36 PM ^
Exactly. People do whatever. It is not that important. I don't understand why this is such a big deal. I am a die hard Michigan fan but I rarely wear Michigan hoodie. I don't say anything Michigan unless the topic comes up about school. I live and die Michigan on this blog pretty much. I don't have a Go Blue on my car. I drove a green color car for a long time. Life takes people wherever and there is no need to question their fandom. I wear a red jacket. Not everything has to be about Michigan. It is in my heart ❤️
November 21st, 2021 at 10:28 PM ^
I always wear my Michigan hoodie and if you talk smack who cares but say a word bad about the UP and expect a whoopin
November 21st, 2021 at 9:11 PM ^
So a bunch of a guys that had issues beating Ohio put their tails between their legs and say Columbus or their High school instead of Michigan?
If this affects you it says way more about you than them.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
Huh?
That's literally every player who has played at Michigan since John Cooper got fired.
Seems like you feel some sorta way about them and tried to put them down to express how little they matter.
If they said "Michigan," they still had trouble beating OSU.
What was the last class that DIDN'T have trouble beating OSU? Who was the last player to leave Michigan with a winning record against the Buckeyes (that wasn't a 1 year walk-on in '03 or '11)?
November 21st, 2021 at 9:11 PM ^
I have no problem with them calling out their high school, their grade school, shoot, they can even give a shout out to the hospital where their mother birthed them for all I care...for any week but this one.
Maybe they're ashamed because, other than Schofield, none of them ever beat OSU.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:18 PM ^
They don’t tape this every week Jesus effing Christ
November 21st, 2021 at 10:12 PM ^
Yall sound like jackasses. This doesn't even make sense.
"Maybe they're ashamed because, other than Schofield, none of them ever beat OSU."
Yeah...that's it. Nailed it. ?
November 21st, 2021 at 10:44 PM ^
We all see who’s really been affected. If you don’t say Michigan, you don’t love Michigan. See it’s just that simple.

November 21st, 2021 at 9:14 PM ^
Good lord people.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:17 PM ^
You do know that these are pretaped right? It doesn’t matter week to week.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:21 PM ^
I do find it a bit odd, though nothing to get too bent out a shape about. However, I do think the annoyance that many Michigan fans feel here may be heightened by the fact that most (all?) of the Buckeye players seem to show tremendous pride in the fact that they played for OSU and every one of them arrogantly proclaims it.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:25 PM ^
I prominently remember Ted Ginn Jr. shouting out his high school. I believe Haskins did too.
November 21st, 2021 at 9:29 PM ^
Fair enough. I don't catch the player introductions all the time, but I often recall being annoyed as the Buckeye announce "THE Ohio State University"
November 21st, 2021 at 9:32 PM ^
Why wouldn't they be proud of all their conference titles?
November 21st, 2021 at 10:33 PM ^
This whole community with seths baby ass crying politics and covering billion dollar college sports and the mega stadiums while people starve to death. Really, conference championships aren’t important.
November 21st, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
Whut?
November 21st, 2021 at 11:57 PM ^
He’s been licking the lead paint on his cabin walls up in the UP, apparently
November 22nd, 2021 at 8:26 AM ^
That is hilarious. You’ve got a lot of unrelated things in there, & I’d love to unpack that with you. Would be interesting to find out what made all of that go in the same post.
