Officiating has ruined this sport.
That's it, I'm done.
I've been on the fence for a while.
Yeah, MSU has played a good game, they've also been gifted several things that even the announcers could clearly see.
Overturning calls with clear evidence that the call on the field was the correct one is just disgusting.
I'm over it, hope you all have fun watching Michigan get hosed.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:42 PM ^
No putting JJ in for reasons that make zero sense is ruining this
October 30th, 2021 at 3:43 PM ^
It's OK to admit that you've been fleeced.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
I was the one complaining Seth couldn’t diagram charts and improperly Cyan’d Cade. Cade was never the issue
October 30th, 2021 at 3:49 PM ^
It's OK to admit you've been fleeced. It's not your fault.
It's not your fault.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:51 PM ^
Complaining about officiating is futile I know. But complaining about a color has been baffling to watch.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:57 PM ^
It's not a color its the fan base that feeds off this crap and then cries to put JJ in the game. Then JJ is in the game and we all knew the horrible play was coming and it came twice.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:48 PM ^
Me too.
This has not been worth the time and effort and emotional drain. It's corrupt. Call it incompetent but I find it hard to agree with that.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:50 PM ^
And people think the refs don’t have it out for Michigan. Plenty of tape out there to prove otherwise.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Hours of footage and it’s reaching Detroit Lions proportions
October 30th, 2021 at 3:51 PM ^
Blaming refs again I see lol
Not Walker gashing us, JJ fumbles, crap play calling, all the FGs in the red zone.
But sure, it's the refs, def not Michigan's fault.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
Is it blame of it's clear to see? As mentioned via tape, for years and years. It isn't incidental.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
So is your argument that the refs didnt overturn multiple plays where the video review evidence clearly showed the play on the field was correct?
October 31st, 2021 at 1:20 PM ^
It started with the Andrel Anthony “hold” taking away 1st and goal on the 4.
My 1st thought was oh know here it comes let’s lube up the bias to come.
How do they select who works what game?
Does the Big Ten have any transparency?
October 30th, 2021 at 4:09 PM ^
So the ball bouncing off the ground giving MSU 8 points and a PI in the end zone the resulted in a FG instead of a TD. So 12 points given away. I can’t wait till you go to Bolivia.
October 30th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
I'll give you those points. Now talk to me about momentum.
October 30th, 2021 at 9:46 PM ^
@FTown
Don't be obtuse.
Both things can be true: a) Michigan can and did get colossally screwed on multiple calls today and b) there were a bunch of Michigan mistake
October 30th, 2021 at 3:52 PM ^
We got our coached and out played the end. Year 2 coach with 20 transfers > year 7 with top 10 classes
tell me I’m wrong. Also have fun watching this kid win a heisman
October 31st, 2021 at 6:54 AM ^
the first year that the transfer portal was has been used as a free agent market. Not a fair statement
October 30th, 2021 at 3:53 PM ^
I'm happy either way, either we have a special season or we fire Harbaugh.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:53 PM ^
So fucking done with it. I'll even admit Michigan gets calls sometimes in their favor but sports in general is being ruined by shitty refs.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:53 PM ^
Blame the officiating, a Harbaugh era tradition
October 30th, 2021 at 5:15 PM ^
Came from Bo. Any loss is a result of getting jobbed by the refs…or a secret mandate from the conference against UM.
It’s embarrassing to see/hear that after every loss.
I do agree there is officiating that is head scratching…but it’s across the board in most sports. i’m not going to hypothesize in the reasons why - but lots of close calls or objective flags in all games
Here, there were numerous chances to salt that game away and/or make better decisions. The refs didn’t job blue here.
October 30th, 2021 at 5:24 PM ^
"michigan could've played better so it doesnt matter that reffing is clearly a problem"
That's a weird response.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:54 PM ^
It's not the refs. We have a shitty coach and shitty culture. Been that way for years.
October 30th, 2021 at 3:58 PM ^
I mean, the refs gifted sparty an OBVIOUS 7 points and then two huge plays that likely would've been another 14 point swing.
That's way more than enough points to win this game.
That's it, you can argue about shitty coaching all you want but you cant deny that reffing altered the outcome of this game in a huge way.
Again.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
I agree Kansas state is shit
October 30th, 2021 at 3:55 PM ^
Papabear, but they gave us a roughing the passer....
October 30th, 2021 at 3:58 PM ^
Fucking refs fuck you
October 30th, 2021 at 3:59 PM ^
Fucking refs fuck you
October 30th, 2021 at 4:00 PM ^
This is the first game I thought the refs actually changed the outcome of a Michigan game. It was very very bad.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:37 PM ^
I'd throw OSU 2016 and MSU way back when Harbaugh started as two more where fair refs we would have won
October 30th, 2021 at 4:12 PM ^
0/6 on reviews. Blatant holds and PIs not called. The refs are crooked. Michigan could have made them not matter, but that doesn't change the fact that they screwed Michigan every way possible in this game.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:13 PM ^
Watching UM has turned into watching the Lions and it’s disgusting.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:14 PM ^
Officials eight reviews. Michigan 0
October 30th, 2021 at 4:17 PM ^
This game reminded me a lot like the 2016 OSU game.
Every controversial call went in favor of our rival in both cases. Today they overturned two calls on the field that we’re not indisputable. That word “indisputable” means something. If a reasonable person can argue the opposite case, then the call has to stand. There needs to be transparency in the replay booth. They ought to be mic’d or at least know who they are. Other sports, like figure skating manage to resolve subjective situations like this transparently.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:27 PM ^
Oh there were several key reviews where the evidence was "indisputable".
Indisputably in favor of the call on the field being correct.
On the review at the goal line they CLEARLY showed thorne dropping the ball as soon as he got touched. One of the announcers even said, "this provides more evidence that the call on the field was correct".
October 30th, 2021 at 4:20 PM ^
This was brutal. Worst officiated game since 2016 OSU. Every close call went Sparty’s way.
Yeah, we still had our chances to win and blah blah blah, but we would not have been forced to score in the final minute if it had been more evenly called earlier.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:56 PM ^
Completely agree. One of the worst games and completely obvious it was one sided.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
This might have been the worst officiating in this rivalry period. There’s no way there was any visual evidence to overturn the strip sack td. Every single review went Sparty’s way. Holding all day long and barely ever called. Just sickening. Taking it out of the kids hands and liking the big cheer from the home fans.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:45 PM ^
They called holding after a sack to stop the clock so MSU didn’t have to burn a to before the half lols
October 30th, 2021 at 6:01 PM ^
The Spartan Bob game was equally bad.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:31 PM ^
This loss is in Michigan. They blew a 16 point lead, gave up two straight two point conversions, settled for field goals, fumbled at the worst possible time, and couldn’t stop the one guy they needed to stop. They single-handedly punched Walker’s ticket to the Heisman ceremony on his behalf.
I don’t know, maybe it’s easier for me to cope by just saying that this loss is on Michigan. Maybe it’s a defense mechanism. But Michigan had every opportunity to win this game and it didn’t. That’s on them.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:34 PM ^
All you have to do is admit that any one of the key BS overturns, or clear missed calls, or bad calls that affected the game gave MSU the points they needed to win the game.
That's it, you can talk about how "michigan had opportunities" all you want but Michigan wouldn't have needed those opportunities if they werent fighting the refs too.
At this point, to me, it's starting to look like coping. People dont want to admit that something they spend so much time and energy watching is just corrupt and honestly not worth watching because of said corruption.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:32 PM ^
16 point lead midway through the 3rd period. Sure the refs were to blame.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:42 PM ^
Refs are to blame for "what" exactly?
Michigan win or Michigan loss doesnt change anything, reffing is still clearly a problem.
October 30th, 2021 at 5:28 PM ^
Michigan should have been up by 20. You're on crack if you think that doesn't influence the outcome, especially when - HEY LOOK - they lost by 4 points, the exact margin by which Michigan lost out on by not having that TD stand.
Of course it's not why they lost. But it's also stupid to pretend it had no influence. When will we ever get a close rivalry game called fucking fairly? Because it never happens.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:35 PM ^
Prob 150+ plays in that game but but the 3 the refs called that didn't go our way are the reason we lost!
The officiating was shit today but I'd be a loser to just blame that for the loss.
October 30th, 2021 at 6:03 PM ^
Most games come down to a few plays. That’s how sports works.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:39 PM ^
Blaming the refs? Really? You don't think it had anything to do with untimely turnovers, poor playcalling, and poor control of the line of scrimmage leading to huge runs? Interesting.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:53 PM ^
The pathetic thing about responses like this are that I can admit that the play on the field wasnt great and still admit that the officiating is a serious problem.
I think it says a lot more about you that you cant admit it's a problem. Like maybe you're too invested to admit that you've wasted so much time on a sham. Too ashamed to admit you've been fleeced.
