Good for him. Glad he's found success in the NFL.
October 17th, 2021 at 3:38 PM ^
What Mr. Blue said. Glad for Evans.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:35 PM ^
Put at 3rd string by Jay Harbaugh.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:40 PM ^
The guys who were ahead of him in the depth chart will probably make the pros, too.
What is this obsession with bashing Jay? His position groups have generally done well, and he's one of our top recruiters.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:44 PM ^
You can usually tell much of an irrational axe someone has to grind around here based on how much vitriol they have for Jaybaugh.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:42 PM ^
Blame your boy Charbonnet then for taking his carries. Oh, any maybe Joe Milton for not being able to get the ball to him. Or, you know, just be happy a guy is successful and not assume every time something good happens for a guy in the NFL it is an indictment of his college team.
October 18th, 2021 at 7:48 AM ^
...and John O'Korn for not being able to get the ball to him for a sure (potentially) game winning TD vs OSU in the 2017 "year of the QB."
October 17th, 2021 at 2:50 PM ^
Jay Harbaugh is a versatile coach whose players generally do well. He's also a good recruiter.
October 17th, 2021 at 3:08 PM ^
I'm glad Evans got his first NFL touchdown today. He's also the third RB on the Bengals, with 0 rushes on the year, and 6 catches for 79 yards and 1 TD, in 6 games. It's not like he's a superstar that was riding the bench. Jay has done very well at Michigan.
October 17th, 2021 at 4:29 PM ^
Remember in the off-season when this board was convinced that DPJ was going to turn into Larry Fitzgerald and Evans would be the next Marshall Faulk because if a few training camp reports and a quote from DPJ’s mom?
(Evans was indeed misused by this staff but they rhetoric got waaaaaay overheated)
October 17th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
Meh...the entire team under-performed. For a very long time. Not just the RBs.
But there are an awful lot of teams in college football who can watch former players tearing it up in the NFL and wonder what the heck? Different skill sets, different schemes, different objectives. It's not as comparable as it might seem.
October 17th, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
Yeah, LSU once had OBJ AND Jarvis Landry and averaged a whole 3 points more per game than 2013 Michigan, which went 7-6. Similarly, Ole Miss had a run there where they just kept cranking out All-Pro-level WRs and couldn't win anything.
Lots of guys do well one place and then struggle elsewhere and vice-versa.
October 17th, 2021 at 8:03 PM ^
And DPJ with 101 yards and 2 TD's today!
October 17th, 2021 at 8:07 PM ^
DPJ had 2 TD’s today
October 17th, 2021 at 9:11 PM ^
Jay has done very well. And Evans should have played more last year. Both are true.
October 17th, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
This is both dumb and obnoxious so you’ve got that going for you I guess
October 17th, 2021 at 4:52 PM ^
So we should have put him in front of Chabornett or Haskins after 2019 when they combined for nearly 1,400 yards and 15 TDs and Evans was coming off a year he got removed from the team. What a dumb dumb.
October 17th, 2021 at 5:43 PM ^
I haven't been around a lot lately but is this Maizen's new acct? Sure reads a lot like his posts.
October 17th, 2021 at 8:33 PM ^
EZ go home
October 18th, 2021 at 10:06 AM ^
Cherubim, man cherubim.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:36 PM ^
When, where, what, how, and why.
October 17th, 2021 at 7:29 PM ^
…and: Link?
October 17th, 2021 at 1:36 PM ^
Also. In other semi-related Michigan news. The Bears are wearing Michigan helmets today.
October 17th, 2021 at 3:13 PM ^
Actually closer to Princeton.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:40 PM ^
It was a reception, meaning Brian’s head just exploded.
October 17th, 2021 at 3:41 PM ^
Even worse—they split him out to isolate him on a linebacker, so it’s not like it was a dump-off. That shit was intentional.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:42 PM ^
Wrong thread.
October 17th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
nice to see, good for him. Good fit for the NFL with his hands, and he's a solid 219-220 after years of packing on weight.
October 17th, 2021 at 2:15 PM ^
They threw the ball to Evans? What an interesting concept!
October 17th, 2021 at 2:21 PM ^
What kind of voodoo is the NFL running these days? Throwing the ball to a RB? WTF, man??
October 18th, 2021 at 9:49 AM ^
It's 1991 all over again? They got plays where you can do that in Super Tecmo Bowl.
October 17th, 2021 at 2:21 PM ^
Great to hear. Handled his road back with integrity. Good for Chris. Thanks for sharing
October 17th, 2021 at 2:29 PM ^
We are big Chris Evans fans! Not only ties at Michigan but went to the same high school as my wife and many friends here in Indianapolis. Glad to see him succeed!
October 17th, 2021 at 2:34 PM ^
Secondary got a lesson first hand, don't sit on Chris Evans receiving the ball
October 17th, 2021 at 6:37 PM ^
Besides the touchdown, he played a solid game and was in quite a bit with Mixon suffering some kind of boo boo.
October 17th, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
Happy for Evans... he made some errors, but stuck around AA (even working as a delivery driver iirc) worked on his grades and got back on the team. In today's day and age with the portal, I think that's pretty rare.
Hope he ends up with a sold NFL career.
October 17th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
big day for donovan peoples-jones too.
October 17th, 2021 at 10:12 PM ^
Congrats to Chris. Playing the Lions didn’t hurt either.
October 17th, 2021 at 10:47 PM ^
Yeah, but it was against the Loins, so it doesn't really count.
October 17th, 2021 at 11:32 PM ^
Good for him - his style of play maybe well suited for the modern NFL: good enough runner to play the position but also serve as an effective receiver so he can stay out there on all three downs.
October 18th, 2021 at 12:17 AM ^
Evans is a good young man, glad that he made to NFL.
October 18th, 2021 at 1:11 AM ^
Well done, Chris! Keep up the good work!
October 18th, 2021 at 1:12 AM ^
