sorry, mods please delete, I found on facebook
Edit: i made a stupid post
Bo was a monster... For losing Rose Bowls. Oh were you talking about something else? Who gives a shit about that.
Here's one stream of it that's not on Facebook:
Is your avatar Bill Bonds? Great blast from the past.
Bonds was the perfect TV news presenter. All schtick. No substance.
Thanks, it is indeed him. His commentaries were certainly legendary despite the shtick (the avatar is a screengrab from a commentary the night before the '85 OSU game where he summed up his editorial with "Go Blue").
To me this is a joke. It's from 1969 and everyone accused is long dead. What a piece of shit this guy is.
I believe Anderson worked until 2003 and consulted for a few years after. I'd say anytime between his first instance of abuse until the day he died he was liable for his actions. As would be the case of anyone else who was fully aware of those too.
Not sure what you're referring to as BS but bringing this to light to hopefully start the discussion of healing and fixing the issue would not qualify.
Shitty hill to die on.
Is there some sexual assault time frame that I’m not aware of?
Why you guys hatin' on Hitler? He's been dead for like a thousand years, leave him alone already /s
If only the impact of atrocities stayed in the past. Many of the victims are very much alive and still impacted by the actions of Anderson and Bo. Beyond that, if we do not acknowledge history and state how we not feel about it, it gives signals to some that they can repeat that history.
oh, fuck right off.
They're only long dead because they worked hard to bury this and avoid dealing with any of the fallout.
I think the only joke is you. To think that anyone would put themselves through this process with very little to gain does not compute with me. Have there been people who have made false accusations before, absolutely. But I choose to believe people who speak out in situations like this.
You might be the ultimate faux tough-guy on mgoblog.
Besides the embarrassment factor, another reason accusers stay silent (when there is a famous abuser/enabler) is that they know idiot fans will support the abuser/enabler and vilify the victim.
The only way I can take this statement seriously is imagining PasadenaFan saying that last sentence into the mirror.
Joke? Tell you what, Chuckles. Once somebody builds that time machine everybody talks about, go back to when you were 10 years old, have your new dad send you to a doctor / authority figure for a physical, and have that guy unnecessarily shove his finger up your ass. Then tell new dad about it, and watch nothing be done, except that doctor and new dad stay part of the same administration for many years (and many finger shovings on many other young men, some who also told new dad, and also watched nothing be done.)
Then come back and tell us all how funny that joke was.
How ironic that someone with your username is defending a coach who couldn't win there. Bo is no different than Paterno or any other coach who knows about this and does nothing. He's the piece of shit, not "this guy." Fuck you, fuck him, and fuck his legacy. This is now Bo's legacy.
I don’t normally downvote but the opportunity to make this triple digits was too tempting to pass by.
Well, I wouldn't go quite that far in assessing the situation, but I will say that the water that flowed under that bridge was so long ago that it seems to be a bit of a dry gulch now.
I do have a bit of a problem with our victimization culture these days. Seems like everyone has, or needs an excuse. As a kid, I was abused by an older cousin on at least one occasion. That was over 50 years ago. I never mentioned it to anyone and I still won't bring it up in family conversations. Of course, I came from the generation that believed what doesn't kill you makes you stronger which is likely what Bo believed. The jury is still out as to whether that axiom is true.
Logged in specifically to downvote you, which is rare for me.
A lot of bad people are dead, does that mean we forget their crimes?
I am watching and waiting for any evidence supporting Matt’s claim. None so far but maybe he is waiting a bit longer to provide some.
I am watching and waiting for any [corroborating] evidence supporting Matt’s claim.
Fixed it for you. Not sure what you're expecting.
For some, video or audio wouldn't be enough.
You’ll recognize these people by their red hats.
Right — all those MAGA hat wearing people at the University of Michigan.
May I introduce you to someone named Ann Coulter?
Actually, there are a lot of MAGA hat wearing Michigan football fans.
There was a thread debating this Bo situation in one of the Michigan football fan groups on Facebook yesterday, and just out of curiosity I checked out the profile of a half-dozen of the most vocal "BO DID NOTHING WRONG, HIS SON IS A STUPID WHINER! WHY'D HE WAIT TO COME FORWARD?!" types, and most of the profiles were full of MAGA / anti-vax / Michael Flynn is a hero / Fire Fauci / Rittenhouse for President type posts.
I know it's a small sample size, but trust me there's a lot out there, I personally know quite a few as well.
Please tell me that none of them were a RN trying (and failing) to prove that the vaccines make us magnetic. She is OSU folk, right?
B.A., University of Toledo, 1980.
And she's a D.O., not an RN.
Tenpenny is the D.O. A supposed RN spoke at some point after Tenpenny.

You know not all conservatives fit this stereotype, right?
Did he provide any? Or are you just making a silly point as it is obvious that Matt’s own allegation is considered evidence under the circumstances?
What kind of evidence are you waiting on, exactly? What do you expect this man to present you from something that happened when he was ten years old?
He wants 4k super slo-mo video with multiple camera angles and DNA evidence from a 1970 conversation with a 10 year old. Is that really too much to ask for.....
How about some evidence that he told anyone that he informed his father of the alleged abuse? A friend or a family member that could say “Matt did tell me that something happened to him as a kid involving his dad and/or the doctor.” Maybe a journal or other writing making reference that something horrible happened to him. How about the records of a therapist that make reference to Matt getting treatment for something that happened in his childhood. Shit, how about a statement from a family member saying Matt told them or made reference to something happening to him? All we have is Matt’s allegation and nothing else. We also don’t know why Matt never brought this up in any of his previous lawsuits against his father or in his 25 year campaign to publicity campaign to tarnish his dad’s legacy. Why is it only coming up now when Matt has been comfortable suing his dad and calling him out in public for years?
Did you hit your head? Your "logic" makes no fucking sense at all. If your "standard of evidence" is a friend or family member backing it up, what about his mother going to Canham directly? Nothing to see there? Seriously dude, wtf do you expect?
I'll admit that given the history between Bo and Matt, I do tend to look at this a bit harder than typical. But then you have all of the former players speaking up... wake up, dude.
Are we forgetting there are 2 other guys saying Bo knew? Like literally on the same podium
I was making the decidedly non-silly point that his statement is evidence. It's the best kind, in fact. That's how eyewitness accounts work. Whether you find it credible is another matter.
It would be pretty hard to find evidence of something from 50 years ago when all the firsthand witnesses are deceased.
As horrifying as the entire Anderson situation is there is a part of me that wonders "do we simply accept what he is saying as truth because he is saying it?" I have absolutely no idea what went on in that home so I'm not going to even offer an opinion but I do know of a few people in my life that were so angry at someone they would say or do anything to get back at them. And I do know that, according to Bo's biological son Shemy, there was some very bad blood between father and son (including a lawsuit) before he passed.
Either way this will result in the final nail in the coffin that is Bo's legacy at Michigan and that's really sad IMO. Sad if it's not exactly true because it means a son hated his father so much he wanted to take out some measure of revenge on the man after his death. And sadder still if the accusation is true because that mean a father allowed someone to sexually abuse his son and seemingly attacked the son for telling him about it.
You put my feelings to words much better than I have been able to. Just sad all the way around.
I don't understand using the bad blood as a reason to question the truth of these statements. Wouldn't Bo's reported actions be a very plausible explanation for the state of their relationship?
Yeah, but it could be either way. The reported actions caused the bad blood, or the bad blood caused the reported actions to be made-up.
No comment from me. I don't have any personal knowledge of what happened so who fucking cares what I think. But it does feel very familiar to the Allen v. Farrow controversy, or the Depp v. Heard controversy, with people that have zero personal knowledge somehow having very strong opinions on what happened.
My thoughts as well, a lot of the excuses for the defenders is that they had a bad relationship and why wait so long?. IDK thus seems like a good reason to have a strained relationship with him.
That could possibly explain the son. How do you explain the other two on the stage?
Exactly. With all the smoke that's already been spotted, I find it hard to believe this is someone crying wolf.
Yes, exactly, where there is smoke, there are wolves!
I hear you re: Matt. FWIW, I think we have to lean toward believing him because we don't have any contradictory information (I realize the possible unfairness of this given the timeframe) and because he gave some pretty specific details that could in theory be disproved. I think that U of M doesn't have any choice but to take what he says as accurate (barring the ability to show, for example, that Canham didn't visit the home at that time). And I don't think there's any question now that the statue has to come down and that the building has to be renamed.
