Gators trying to keep Robinson
Late Saturday night, sources informed FootballScoop that MacDonald and Robinson had agreed to join the Michigan staff, formal offers were transmitted … all that remained was collecting signatures.
Michigan formally announced the addition of MacDonald Sunday afternoon.
In the meantime, sources on Sunday told FootballScoop that Gators’ head coach Dan Mullen reached out to Robinson to attempt to retain his linebackers coach. Sources with direct knowledge said Mullen and the Gators countered Michigan’s offer to Robinson, with the Gators offering to elevate Robinson’s pay.

Well, I guess we'll find out right away if Mikey can recruit.

What about the DL? There’s been Nothing about the d-line

Sounds like Nua will be retained.

If this is the case, how the hell did we lose Somerville?

From a lot of the recruiting podcasts I listen to Michigan stopped recruiting him. Their opinion was that his rankings were way too high.

In these cases they probably already retained him. He went back to UF to leverage his offer. Not coming book it.

Raback it.

Could be another Enos situation for us

BKFinest it.

We will see soon enough ig Michigan got Enos’d again
January 17th, 2021 at 5:41 PM ^
Enos was made official and then went to a different school.
This is not an Enos situation if he just stays where he already is because Florida offered to match or beat Michigan’s offer. That happens all the time.

Well, you can't spell 'penis' without three of the letters in Enos.

Probably got a raise. I'm not super high on BJM but Robinson also felt a bit redundant at that spot.

You would think UM had anticipated this possibility and has another card to play if they think highly of him.
January 17th, 2021 at 11:32 PM ^
Anticipation? I would definitely not think that UM has been correctly anticipating events, seeing how the organization has been performing the past oh...20 years.

Side note: Ron English to Purdue’s defensive staff
January 17th, 2021 at 6:35 PM ^
Hopefully some of that four million Harbaugh gave up can go towards getting the right assistants in place.
January 18th, 2021 at 6:38 AM ^
Maybe. But I have a feeling that money isn't what's holding coaches back from joining this staff.
January 17th, 2021 at 7:25 PM ^
Well, it’s good news if we do get him that his current employer tried to keep him.

With DC in place the D can now proceed. But all quiet on the O front? Status quo?
January 17th, 2021 at 8:11 PM ^
Pretty much
January 17th, 2021 at 8:30 PM ^
All quiet on the O front except for hiring Mike Hart as RB coach like a couple of days ago....?

Maybe tomorrow Drew Brees will be announced as the Quarterback's coach. "Basketball on Grass" was basically the original "Speed in Space."
January 17th, 2021 at 10:46 PM ^
What are chances Michigan hires clinkscale??
January 17th, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
Depends on whether MacDonald has worked with him before or has some connection. He will seek out those he knows
January 18th, 2021 at 8:57 AM ^
To me, as a general rule, if you have to leverage your current employer to give you a raise by looking elsewhere, you should move on. If they thought you were worth it, they already would have paid you. There, of course, are exceptions.
