*Again
December 16th, 2020 at 4:41 PM ^
Well, at least we can have SOME nice things!
December 16th, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
We have all the tools for an elite offense between the last few O-line hauls, and last year and this year's skill position haul.
Defense...pray that Mazi and Hinton develop and we get a new coordinator that can teach a zone.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:56 PM ^
Not past this staff to flip a few freak athletes to the other side of the ball, either.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:57 PM ^
We're a big 12 team now! (if the offensive coaching ever catches up to talent)
December 16th, 2020 at 4:59 PM ^
If we can combine an elite offense with an Iowa-level or a Northwestern-level defense (i.e. a defensive scheme that can work well with predominately 3-star type players) . . . then we should be in pretty good shape.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:51 PM ^
Lol. He played people pretty hard. Worthy posted a couple Alabama tweets recently. Well done, young man.
Offense should be stacked. Now if we can just keep the defense off the field for four quarters then UM should be legit.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:53 PM ^
A new DC might be able to get a serviceable defense. Maybe even Brown if he starts as a zone guy. We'll see. But maybe we can be Oklahoma of the B1G.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:14 PM ^
A healthy offense and a serviceable defense would go a long way towards improving on what we saw this year, that’s for sure.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:12 PM ^
We just need some good play calls'
December 16th, 2020 at 5:14 PM ^
There is no reason at all our defense is doomed to be bad next year. We still probably have the 2nd or 3rd best personnel in the conference in terms of raw talent. At corner, we had three top-200 recruits sitting on the bench because they were young.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:55 PM ^
That's a stretch. I do believe defensive tackle is still a position.
And if those young Top 200 corners were all that why didn't they play? Gemon Green was adequate on a good day and Vincent Gray, though a fine person I am sure, was a disaster on the field. Makari Paige played (safety I know) so why not Seldon? Why not Jalen Perry?
December 16th, 2020 at 8:25 PM ^
Did you even read what you were responding to? What do you think he meant by the corners being too young to play?
December 16th, 2020 at 10:25 PM ^
I read it just fine. Top 200 corners on the bench because they are young. Well, the guys playing were getting torched so if these young corners aren't playing, why?
December 16th, 2020 at 4:43 PM ^
Are we worthy?
December 16th, 2020 at 4:43 PM ^
And immediately entered his name into the 2022 transfer portal
December 16th, 2020 at 4:49 PM ^
:sadbanana:
I'm not so sure about this. I think the receivers will be happy to play in games where they threaten the 67-65 scoring record in the coming years....
December 16th, 2020 at 4:52 PM ^
I don’t think so. He’s probably gonna bulk up to play DT.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:44 PM ^
Giles staying too I’d imagine. Most likely squashes that rumor.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:52 PM ^
When they were talking about "shocking the world" or whatever on Twitter, I think they meant that Worthy would sign with Michigan since everyone was expecting Worthy to flip
December 16th, 2020 at 5:04 PM ^
Or that Edwards would sign.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:28 PM ^
Which once again proves how stupid it is to read the tea leaves of obscure tweets.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:50 PM ^
But don’t forget we have lots of insiders in here that ARE NOT, insiders!
December 16th, 2020 at 4:44 PM ^
BOOOM
December 16th, 2020 at 4:45 PM ^
There is going to be a lot of offensive talent over the next few years. Today has given us a lot of reason to be optimistic for the first time in a while. Here’s to hoping today’s guys turn this around!
December 16th, 2020 at 4:49 PM ^
Definitely a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball. Interesting thing to think about, but depending on how things on the defense shake out in the off-season, the team may be in a position where the offense needs to carry the defense, and not the other way around.
But hey, this is an age where offense is winning championships and your defense needs to be just good enough. I’d rather roll into the OSU game with an offense that can put up 40-50 points in a given week and a good but not great defense vs. having an elite defense but an offense that can’t consistently move the ball.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:45 PM ^
Hell yeah!!
December 16th, 2020 at 4:45 PM ^
A worthy choice
December 16th, 2020 at 4:45 PM ^
Campbell is going to inherit a lot of weapons.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
Auburn is getting Campbell, didn't you hear?
/S...just wanted to give some on here a heart attack.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:49 PM ^
HA! Jokes on you, I EXPECT bad news and am surprised by good news.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:46 PM ^
Was anxiously awaiting a Worthy commitment thread since 4:00. Then I got 3 of them!!
Welcome aboard!
In truth, the offensive staff deserves credit for keeping their part of the class together and adding Edwards today.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:17 PM ^
What the...
Is that the former Governor of Minnesota?
December 16th, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
This is probably the most complete offensive class we've had in a while.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
If Michigan had lost by 50 points to OSU, would he have stayed committed?
December 16th, 2020 at 4:50 PM ^
Of course. That would have meant that Day's offense fell 50 points short of meeting his self-assigned quota.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:48 PM ^
Can't believe that both Worthy and Edwards signed onto this.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:51 PM ^
Maybe they didn't jump to conclusions and have knee jerk reactions to a season that was an outright anomaly on all fronts. The trends of NSD looks like we are retaining all our offensive staff and reworking large parts of the defensive staff.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:08 PM ^
Is retaining our offensive staff is a positive? I don't feel confident that it is.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:21 PM ^
Did I say it was a positive? Just pointing out what I think will happen based on the trend we are seeing. It is a positive in the sense that keeping the staff together held together probably our most complete offensive class in recent memory. On paper, we now have the type of offense and type of players to be a dynamic offense. Whether or not everything actually comes together is another topic.
Still time to get Rayshaun Benny, George Rooks, and Ceyair Wright if we hire the right defensive staff to close the deal.
December 16th, 2020 at 5:40 PM ^
Is Benny waiting until NSD to sign?
And the other two?
December 16th, 2020 at 5:51 PM ^
Rooks is uncommitted and has crystal balls for Michigan but has really gone radio silent.
Benny is holding off signing (a rumor that Michigan asked him to)
Wright is a ND/USC lean but also did not commit today.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:48 PM ^
Man some of these coaches are TURRIBLE at recruiting.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:48 PM ^
Phenomenal news! Fastest player since, what, Wheatley?
The talent on offense is there to be top 10. Coaching needs to develop and put it together, whoever it may be.
December 16th, 2020 at 4:49 PM ^
Let's go! Loving this offensive class ?
