There is going to be a lot…

There is going to be a lot of offensive talent over the next few years. Today has given us a lot of reason to be optimistic for the first time in a while. Here’s to hoping today’s guys turn this around!

Good, now the season is over…

Good, now the season is over and we can focus on whether Harbaugh is staying or not.

I buy that he might not take…

I buy that he might not take the job but I don't buy that he would only leave for Ohio State or Notre Dame. It's not unreasonable for coach to not take a more prestigious job. Just in our own history we got turned down by coaches at Northwestern and Rutgers and Rich Rod turned down Alabama to stay at West Virginia the year before he came here. So I do buy that he might turn the job down.

What I don't buy is that he wants to stay at Iowa State unless Ohio State or Notre Dame come calling. Those jobs won't be opening up for quite some time and it is going to be near impossible to remain the hottest head coach on the market at Iowa State where you are constantly fighting an uphill battle against the likes of Oklahoma and Texas. He's not an Iowa State alum so it's not like he has an interest in staying like Fitzgerald.

All in all, I think the tweet is BS.

The way I look at this.

The way I look at this.

1) If Manuel already knows that he wants Harbaugh back and Harbaugh wants to be back then it only helps Michigan to announce that now. It would be boost to Harbaugh before the early signing day that he can sure use.

2) Not announcing they are working on an extension knowing that will hurt him in recruiting signals that either Manuel or Harbaugh have doubts about next season. Leaving the situation unresolved could mean that an NFL team grabs Harbaugh and pays the buyout. This would benefit both Michigan and Harbaugh if they are expecting a divorce. Also allows the university and Harbaugh to save face.

3) This is the typical Michigan arrogance that we are Michigan and do things "the right way" and that includes not discussing contracts mid-season and there is nothing more to Manuel's statement.

I think door #3 is easily the worst possible option there. At this point, Manuel should already have made his decision on what he wants and be putting the full court press on.
