Duke 2005 - Present.
This dude will wear you out playing fetch. He's pretty handy retrieving ducks and geese as well.
I wish our guy was more interested in fetch—after three or four throws, he loses interest and returns to his favorite obsession: staring up into the tree in the park across from our house in the faint hope a squirrel will fall into his mouth.
don, i have to ask: does he ever chew on you?
Duke & Arya (2009 - Present) look like long lost siblings.
First cousins maybe? I see the resemblance, good looking hound.
Thanks! And Duke is a very handsome hound himself.
She's got the exact same lighter shoulder patterns as Duke, but she was taking a nap and wouldn't cooperate for the pic, as you can probably tell from her "leave me alone" facial expression.
Love my two dogs, Harbaugh (5) and Maizey (2).
My daughter and Blue in 2010. I wanted to name him Montgomery George Orwell Blue, but my then wife prevailed.
I want to see XM post a sizable farm animal in this thread. Or maybe a bear.
a.) it really is cool to see all these mutts (and cats) that you all love(d).
b.) if i had the slightest clue i would in fact post pictures of favorite livestock, such as our favorite bull. his name, you ask? bull-dozer. his son was pretty cool, too. his name...bull-winkle. hey, it was the best i could come up with and the kids liked them.
these are our dogs, Leo (brown) and Lindy.. quite the handful
Amazing self-discipline by your pooches. They obviously adjusted well to life in... New Zealand?
Tauro,
How do you find Beagles? My son has been 'hounding' me to get one since our Lab passed in 2018. They sure seem lovable, happy, and good companions but the wife and I are concerned that they might be a little too high energy, curious and clever dogs that tend to be escape artists. Would love to hear your experience. Thanks!
I had a beagle growing up. Wonderful, lovable dog, but yes, a constant escape artist. The howling at sirens is pretty awesome though.
My dog, a yorkie/silky terrier does the same thing with sirens.
Winston Churchill. Born in 2007. He is deaf and sits on "his" chair almost every waking minute, but he's survived about a dozen other pets. I'm beginning to think that he's immortal.
Its the cigars and scotch, no doubt.
...and the maize Michigan hat too---identical to my cap of choice while I sit here.
Somehow my dog has decided that my side of the bed is HERS and she stays there all day. I think she loves our little game of me walking in the room and telling her to "Get off my bed." It may be her revenge for me walking her every day.
Love the hat.
Elsa
My first dog. Girlfriend had her before we met in 2017.
She even looks like Elsa
Meet Abby(The Dog) and Kacey(The Cat)
OP That is a pic of a beautiful Dog. I am sorry for your loss.
Thanks. He was the 4th GSP I rescued... I only had him for 4 of his 14 years, but he was a good boy, we enjoyed him and his retirement was much better than most of his first 10 years.
My Dog is a rescue as well and has some...odd habits from her previous owners. We've worked very hard to make sure she has a better life here than she did previously. She's a real sweetheart, but needs a lot of love and understanding.
Those dogs are incredible hunters. My neighbor had two that got out in the middle of the night and sniffed down a coyote den and killed all but one, which he took care of with his revolver as it tried to attack him. I hear they're also very loyal.
Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss Booted. Mr. Fritz is a handsome dog. Love the glasses.
See my avatar. Finn on the left, 3 yr old pit. Olivia on the right, 13 yr old mix.
I'm sorry for you loss, OP. Dogs are family.
This is Orange Julius trolling our 70 pound Lab, Buster, by sleeping in his bed. He's a badass.
We were very fortunate to keep our dog, Emma, this winter. She already has Cushing's disease and then her back legs just stopped working. She recovered after two months of cage rest. We suspect she slipped a disk in her back. Just turned 11 and has the energy of a pup due to the Cushing's. Loves to walk, fetch, and play with her porg from star wars.
I’d post a picture of my cat, Miggy, but I can never figure out how to upload photos despite being a fairly tech savvy millennial.
Nessie (6, Scottie) and Pippi (3, Norwich) looking for squirrels.
nice - a Norwich won the Mayflower dog show in 1999.
Pippi's uncle, Tanner, won Best of Breed at Westminster a few years ago.
You know what they say..."God loves a terrier"
I cant imagine my life without a golden. (Lily)
Mr Fritz looks like an awesome friend, BBPa! He reminds me a lot of one of my childhood family dogs, "Otis". Along with our other dogs of my youth ("Barky" and "Snowshoes"), Otis was always there to welcome us home with unconditional love.
Very sorry for your recent loss!
RIP, Mr. Fritz. We have a chocolate lab, too, and he's 13. They're such great dogs. Always happy, always game for anything. I'm sure Mr. Fritz is dearly missed.
Lexi, master of all she surveys
My Maizey girl, goofy cattle dog mix and best running partner in the world.
Booted Blue, I'm so sorry about Mr. Fritz, he looks like he was a pretty fantastic dog.
I'm tuning more and more into a dog person, but I dont have one (yet). My sister had a hedgehog for a little while, named Hedgie, and he was pretty great.
Harry, my Maine Coon-mix that I lost in January of 2019 after 14 years. A fuzzy boy who liked crunchy food and saucy treats, snored when he slept, and was very sweet-natured - unless you were a mouse or a chipmunk, in which case he'd disembowel you just for fun.
The best little guy ever.
What a great face.
And that face got him out of more trouble than you can imagine. (He knew how to work those big green eyes.)
I love Maine Coons! I have 2 myself. An 8 year old female named Noodle Bug and a 4 year old male named Dubs. Great cats. They even get along with our 13 year old German Spitz Lucy. I have no idea how to posts pics.
Bode (Bo)... 2015-present
He’s a very good boy and watches Michigan sports with me, but politely excuses himself when I start yelling at the TV.
Dot (2003-2019). JRT. Note raccoon in tree. Proud old girl.
My dog Blue. She is a little over a year old.
RIP Mr. Fritz. I am sorry for your loss. He looked like a good doggo.
