M made some more top lists for 2021 prospects
Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall offensive tackle Tristan Bounds named Michigan to his top 8 (LINK). He's a 3-star, the #56 offensive tackle, and #627 overall.
Bolingbrook (IL) Bolingbrook linebacker Tyler McLaurin named Michigan to his top 5 (LINK). He's a 3-star, the #26 outside linebacker, and #406 overall.
Arlington (TX) Mansfield Summit wide receiver Hal Presley named Michigan to his top 10 (LINK). He's a 3-star, the #80 wide receiver, and #481 overall.
There are no crystal ball picks in for any of these guys.
Not a fan of Bounds, personally. Doesn’t look especially athletic, bends at the waist. I think he’s appropriately ranked.
McLaurin and Presley, however, I think are really good.
I think the same about Bounds. I keep pounding the table for Bennett Pitcher instead, but Ed Warinner keeps declining my calls and sending me PPOs.
just keep ducking service on the PPO's and you can keep texting him. it'll be fine.
You didn't possibly start out as a law clerk for my divorce lawyer's law firm, Ditcher, Quick, & Hyde, did you?
close....
I know you’re really high on Pitcher. I’m curious as to why his offer list/interest level doesn’t really match someone who is regarded as a good prospect and is ranked decently on 247 as well. I mean, Michigan, PSU, and OSU have offered, but it doesn’t sound like any of those schools are pushing for him especially hard.
In contrast, Bounds isn’t as good of a prospect but Michigan and VT is pushing for him hard, ND offered yesterday as well, and Texas is on his top list (idk how much Texas wants him).
Do you think some teams are turned off because Pitcher is 6’9” and may be too tall for the position?
I don't know that many teams would be turned off by the fact that he's 6'9".
He hurt his foot as a junior and didn't play much/at all, but I don't know the severity of the injury. If it was a bad injury, maybe teams are waiting to see how well he recovers.
i think he's similar to Dawand Jones in that all these big programs are keeping him on the back burners a bit, but once he improves his senior year and they strike out a bit, he'll end up at an Ohio State, Penn State or Michigan.
What the heck is a PPO?
And what's your take on Benny who I'll guess will end up in class?
Personal protective order
I like Benny better as an offensive lineman. He is an adequate defensive tackle prospect, in my opinion. I don't think he's a game-changer, but he could come in and eventually be a starter for a couple years.
Are they 1st team All Big Ten like Shea ?
Lordy, a 2021 recruit bends at the waist. Are we bored or what?
Quickly read the title and was excited thinking we made a top list for top prospects. I can see I was mistaken about the latter.
All three underrated. Will be high four stars in the coming months.
Michigan also made the top 10 for Canonsburg (PA) Peters Township safety Donovan McMillon (LINK). He's a 3-star, the #25 safety, and #431 overall.
Didnt take long for someone to mention all 3 are underrated.
The Joke

You
Seriously where is this program going?
We are not in on big time recruits anymore. The initial Harbaugh shine has dulled to say the least. We aren't competing for five stars, we are just making lists for three stars.
We already have a defensive coach whom I love but he has shown his philosophy, at least with our personnel, can't beat Ohio State but we have been recruiting less and less of the elite athletes needed.i actually feel bad for Daxton Hill.
The way I look at it, if I’m a top-100 stud and I could go play for any program I want to, would I really go play for a program whose fanbase is chock full of miserable, entitled vagina men?
Anyone who even considers coming to play for this stinking taint of a fanbase should have a statue made of him!
Yeah. It’s shitty fans, not mediocre coaching or little real on field success. It’s weird that you actually think that.
I think they care more about the assistant coaches who arent great recruiters and the development of talent on the field.
Yeah, you're so totally awesomely right. If I were a recruit, I would never sign with a program where the fans rip on players. Any hint of negativity among the fanbase, and I'd be decommitting for a 100% positive fanbase school.
Wait til Hill transfers.
If you ignore the 5-stars we're competing for, then yeah, we're not competing for 5-stars.
And that says nothing about the fact that Michigan already has a 5-star QB commit.
Toss in Nolan Rucci, Camar Wheaton, and J.T. Tuimoloau, along with guys that Michigan competed for but lost (Treveyon Henderson, for one). Oh, and once you have a 5-star QB commit, that eliminates the other 5 quarterbacks who are 5-stars.
People worry too much about 5-stars.
Those guys don’t count!!!
It's the relatively low proportion of high 4*s that is tough to swallow
Relative to what? Edwards, Spindler, Thornton, El-Hadi, Dellinger, Turner, Fidone, Somerville, Kendall, Ibraheem, Colson, Toia, Benny, AJ Green. Those are all top-200 guys that Michigan is right smack dab in the race for
I wonder what the next complaint will be in this thread.
First it was no 5-stars.
Then it was no high 4-stars.
I guess next they'll be complaining about low 4-stars.
How many of those guys is Michigan actually going to get? Maybe 2 or 3?
Because the others don’t want to play in front of a pathetic gaggle of Veruca Salts.
Well, El-Hadi is already in the class. Michigan has big leads for Colson and Kendall according to insiders and are deciding this month so there's three right there without even getting to the instate guys like Edwards, Spindler, and Benny.
Dellinger has also been receiving a lot of attention lately and still hasn't committed to LSU afte receiving a huge run of Crystal Balls, which only means good things for Michigan.
Not to mention Fidone, who Michigan is a close second to without even having him on campus yet. And Michigan probably even has a better shot with Somerville who just said that they will be getting his first official visit when he can take them.
I didn't even include Corey Kiner before who is also in the top 200 and who is basically down to Michigan and Louisville.
But you keep on being miserable and pretending that you're being "objective" when really you're letting your emotion cloud the facts.
Kinda similar to the whole “Michigan can’t win big games” argument. Can’t win big games if the people making that argument only count games as “big games” if we lose them.
Exactly. Wisconsin and Penn State weren’t big games in ‘18, but they were in ‘19. Notre Dame wasn’t big in ‘19, but it was in ‘18.
Road games are big games.
All road games? And are all home games not?
OSU at home is a big game. When was the last time we won one of those?
That’s the only big home game, is it?
Chase Young and Okudah were 5 stars. How many of those guys does Michigan have on their roster? 0 Our best players would be some of Ohio State's worst.
Dude...Dax Hill. out of Oklahoma and UM beat out Bama for him.
Yeah, yeah...UM isn't recruiting at OSUs level. NO ONE IS HAPPY ABOUT THAT. But then again..NO one is recruiting at the level.
BREAKING NEWS: According to @ThadMattasagoblin, Daxton Hill and Chris Hinton have transferred.
People worry about recruiting in general, too much. Do people really think the coaches don't want to win and don't want great players?
I like our chances with Bounds.
McLaurin is too highly rated.
Presley is right on the edge. Gonna be close!
Bounds and Pounds would be fun to say after every rushing TD, but I know very little of either prospect. Thanks for the update!
Jamari Buddin has some balls activity today from Wiltfong and Trieu going to "?" status. Not sure if it's their first prediction or they switched. I always get a bad feeling that it's a flip.
It can't be a flip if he hasn't committed anywhere.
I mean a flip from Michigan to ?.
