OT MGM and Greektown sportsbook starting this week. Any insiders that can help newbies?
Looking forward to spending first couple days of the NCAA tourney at MGM and Greektown. I've done a bit of online gambling in the past, which leaves me with some questions:
1) Does MGM or Greektown have an online gambling site that would provide a "sign up" bonus?
2) If yes, can I use that online account to bet live at the casinos?
3) Anything else I should know about betting sportsbook live at these casinos?
Thanks in advance.
Better dead than red.
If you see any refs, bet against Michigan
Online betting won’t be available for another year. You must bet in person
Hammer the under
Is it only the detroit casinos? or are the tribal ones available for betting?
Two Detroit casinos are starting this week (MGM and Greektown). Motor City will probably be delayed because of the Illitch family owning that casino. The tribal casinos will be later.

“Here’s an idea: why don't you give me half the money you were gonna bet, then we'll go out back, I'll kick you in the nuts, and we'll call it a day.”
Good luck Mr. Pappagiorgio
Only bet on the winners.
3) Don't
I thought I read that the sports book betting in Michigan would be only parlays (since those are less susceptible to shenanigans).
Also I think the detnews article about this from today said all 25 of the state's casinos would offer a book, so that would mean tribal ones as well.
The best advice is to never gamble. But if you do set rules for yourself. If you find yourself breaking those rules you might be an addict and need help. I’ve thought about how I would set it up if gambling was something I was interested in. Take it fwiw...
Figure out how much of your income you spend on recreation/entertainment over the course of a typical month. Decide how much you would be willing to take out of that pool.
Gamble with that. Put the winnings in your bank account and gamble until you have lost that amount you set for yourself. Once you’ve done so, stop gambling until the next month, no matter what a lock you think something is.
Start over the next month with the same amount of money.
This way you can have the fun (or whatever one gets out of gambling) without ever making a foolish financial decision. You already were using the money for entertainment so from your perspective you aren’t wasting it any more than someone who likes music spends it on concerts.
What’s the rake in Michigan? Isn’t it super high?
8.4% could be worse I guess

I noticed you didn't say you won a fuck ton of bets.
Advice: Resist the temptation to bet a 75 team parlay. Follow that advice and you should be good.
Based on what I've read, go to MGM before Greektown. I prefer MGM and Motor City over Greektown anyway, but MGM will take wagers 24-hours a day. Greektown will take wagers from 9am-2am. Not saying I'm a degenerate, but I like being able to put my wager in before I go to work.
Depends on what you are looking to do. If just bet really doesn't matter where. I've watched a game at MGM's before betting was ready and that place is small and for the most part you have to rent tables by the hour or buy a bottle of alcohol.
Hi! I`m a fun of gambling too. I can`t answer this question about MGM, but I know that Gclub gives a "sign up" bonus and you can bet here. I'm using this service. Works really cool. I recommend you not to focus on one service because we live in a world of variants and opportunities. You always can find something interesting, more profitable and new.
I don't really like betting. I prefer poker or playing slots more. I don't like to think about how to win. I used to just go to 888casino.com and click on the rotation. This is much more convenient. Especially when my goal is not to win money. I just have a good time in the evenings. I advise you to start treating it that way, too.
