The Mind of Aaron Hernandez

So good!
January 15th, 2020 at 9:59 PM ^
Watched it earlier...crazy all the demons that guy was dealing with while playing that last season.
January 16th, 2020 at 6:25 AM ^
We all deal with demons. No excuses. I have been through some real messed up shit in my life. Nobody cares, so get over it and get close to God.
January 16th, 2020 at 7:14 AM ^
Wow, ok man.
January 16th, 2020 at 7:49 AM ^
I agree. Everyone is dealing with something even if it looks like they are not.

Eli, there are several books written about Aaron Hernandez, I would recommend reading one. All American Murder by James Patterson is quite good and enlightening, IMO.
Aaron Hernandez was sketchy from the jump, nobody can really argue that point. What is interesting about the situation is that he went from merely inattentive and socially inept to violent and psychotic rapidly. His behavior before he was arrested was not merely deviant but bizarre and his interactions were almost disassociative. Teammates report him to be almost child-like in his final days with New England.
Nobody, nobody is excusing Aaron Hernandez. But his conduct in light of CTE discoveries and research in interesting to say the least.

I'd also recommend Unnecessary Roughness. It's written by Jose Baez, one of Hernandez' lawyers.

What's your favorite way to get close to God? Church? Mine is DMT.
January 16th, 2020 at 11:21 AM ^
Definite shortcut to the center of the universe +1
Meditation and prayer as well as the community of religion can elicit equanimity and wisdom but won't let you understand "God" and the universe like a dose of that stuff will.
January 16th, 2020 at 10:02 AM ^
Which god? There's only about 2000 different religions on Earth. Gotta make sure you pick the ONLY one that is right.
January 16th, 2020 at 11:02 AM ^
My go-to is The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Blasphemy....There is but one lord and savior, Hugh Freezus, the current coach at Liberty University. As Jesus was kind to a prostitute, Hugh was generous to many.

Awesome set of verses. If you dig in to those words you can see that Love is above self but does not forget self. Our actions, daily have consequences intended or not and can be positive or negative! Anything, any minute can turn on a dime and practicing Love helps us make choices that affect others positively.

I like getting close to mormon Jesus.

Is that the blonde and blue-eyed Jesus from Sweden I see in all the paintings?

OSU has beaten UM 15 of the last 16 games in football. This God guy must hate us :(

Trent Reznor had some thoughts on how to get closer to God
January 16th, 2020 at 12:42 PM ^
Eli,
This statement is the perfect example of why I will always disagree with religion. Your sense of reality is so messed up, and it's irreversible. You know nothing about life.
January 17th, 2020 at 4:10 PM ^
And you know nothing about Eli.

Let’s go inside the mind of a Greg Jennings

Forget Greg Jennings. How about go inside the mind of Ken Jennings?

GOAT!
January 16th, 2020 at 6:58 AM ^
Only because he copied James’ strategy
January 16th, 2020 at 8:59 AM ^
KJ is the OG and even when JH's impressive run ended it was still KJ that stood alone by all the most important metrics for GOAT.
Now they go H2H and KJ wins and you think somehow he's not the real GOAT because he borrowed a winning strategy he saw?
JH gets full credit for introducing a new way to play the game but when he and KJ both played it, KJ WON.

Except it wasn't head to head. Brad was acting as a handicap the entire tournament.
January 16th, 2020 at 10:26 AM ^
He was the same handicap to both players.

Just saw that an executive producer of it from metro Detroit will be talking about it on 11pm Ch7 WXYZ news.
January 15th, 2020 at 11:20 PM ^
It was a "see the rest of the interview on Sunday night" -Ch7 Sports cave @11:30. Dan Wetzel from Yahoo Sports is the executive producer.

I love Damn Pretzel!... Dan you Auto Correct!

I had really forgotten a lot about the story. They are really playing up the gay thing. I heard it, but never to this extent. Not that there is anything wrong with it.
January 16th, 2020 at 6:59 AM ^
If he doesn’t get help very soon I’m fearful Antonio Brown may sadly experience a similar end (in regards to a very young death/longterm incarceration).
January 16th, 2020 at 8:04 AM ^
I wonder what happened with this guy? He fell of the deep end pretty quick, or maybe it wasn't because Pittsburgh didn't give it a second thought once they parted ways. Imagine, Ben Roethlisberger being the better person in that situation.
January 16th, 2020 at 8:39 AM ^
Based on what I've read he's always been a bit of a loose cannon, but what has transpired in the past year is pretty serious. Things started to get worse and worse ever since that terrible hit to the head he took from Vontaze Burfict in the playoffs a few years back. He seems to be extremely disconnected with reality and I'm afraid he is becoming a bigger and bigger danger to himself and those around him (if I were a female I would not be within 100 ft of this guy and sure as hell never alone with him).
January 16th, 2020 at 8:50 AM ^
You make a great point about that hit. I wonder how much of a correlation there is with that?
January 16th, 2020 at 9:17 AM ^
Did you see his IG live stream of the dispute with his baby mama just a few days ago? The guy is clearly off the deep end. Sad to see.
January 16th, 2020 at 11:23 AM ^
I'm a die-hard Steelers fan (except for the Mike Vick "era") and followed AB his whole career. I'm totally convinced the Burfict hit has a lot to do with this. His brain never recovered. Honestly, when I see replays of that hit, I'm surprised he didn't die. Seriously.
January 16th, 2020 at 11:24 AM ^
I've also heard the speculation that the Burfict hit affected AB. I think they were on the Raiders together for a hot minute, which is a bit odd.
January 16th, 2020 at 7:47 AM ^
Haven’t watched it yet, but read the book and saw the two hour news special on this. He was crazy. Imagine having a teammate like this.
January 16th, 2020 at 8:51 AM ^
From everything I've seen, he was a great teammate.
