What 3 Things Have To Happen to get the W Next Week?
First of all a shoutout to all my Michigan Brothers that came to Bloomington for the game. It was great to meet and talk to so many Michigan fans. That was worth the drive and I'm glad I went. Staying in Indy for the night.
What 3 things need to happen to get the W next week? I will go first...
1. NO turnovers for us and we need to force at least one.
2. Fast start. We cannot fall behind.
3. DPJ needs to have his moment. Punt Return for TD, me thinks.
All of these are possible, but damn it is going to be tough. I am going to try to be optimistic this week.

Penn State showed that OSU is not invincible. That game was far closer than many predicted.
Addendum: for the record, I agree with the trio posted above.

I'm usually optimistic, and Michigan can win of course, but that game didn't make me feel more optimistic. The only time PSU did anything was when they got gifted a bunch of TOs.
November 24th, 2019 at 7:24 AM ^
Both OL and DL didn't have the push I expected against PSU. I think Michigan is a much better team than PSU in many ways.
November 24th, 2019 at 6:56 AM ^
That game wasn’t close until osu fumbled back to back and gave Penn st short fields. But I would argue that if M played psu again and at home it’d be a route
November 24th, 2019 at 10:47 AM ^
In the last 7 years, OSU is 0-7 against the spread the week before The Game. Yesterday was not unexpected, although the number of turnovers was.
November 24th, 2019 at 11:13 AM ^
if fields doesnt fumble going into the end zone its 35-17. Psu had literally one score going the length of the field. Check the box score. If they played again next week osu would win by 5 touchdowns.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:14 PM ^
1. We need to score more points than ohio
2. We need the Defense to keep ohio from scoring more points than us
3. Fuck ohio

very deep intellectual discussion points. you keep it up you will be on ESPN gamely next year as an expert

Spare us the sanctimony, Hugh Jass.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:16 PM ^
1. Michigan needs some type of run game.
2. Time for Patterson to throw
3. D needs to limit big plays
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:19 PM ^
1) Win turnover battle
2) Perfection from the Offense
3) Composure
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:19 PM ^
1 we need to score more points
2 we need to score more points
3 we need to score more points

No turnovers/force 2 or 3.
Perfect special teams.
Keep Shea upright and healthy.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:19 PM ^
1. No Wild Cat unless they pass out of it.
2. Contain Fields.
3. ^ Chase Young.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
1. Fuck Urban Meyer
2. Fuck the whole state of Ohio
3. Throw the ball to Nico all fucking day.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:25 PM ^
If Justin Fields goes down in 1H, we breeze to a win.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
1. Dobbins has to be held to under 120 yds
2. No turnovers
3. Something Michigan has seemed unable to do against OSU, not allow the EZ big play tds. If they can make Fields work the ball downfield, they can win
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:29 PM ^
Some off the wall ideas:
- A special teams play, e.g. recovered onside kick or punt fake pass.
- Break OSU’s tempo.
- Beware of a halftime protest attempt similar to what happened in New Haven.
- Eliminate the Fox Sports play-by-play commentator, e.g. hack his microphone, to render him, and perhaps Urban Meyer incommunicado.
- Play like there is no tomorrow!

Rain, Snow, Wind

Depending on how crappy the weather is, it may hamper us more than OSU.
3 takeaways from PSU/OSU game:
1. Exploit OSU’s issue with ball security by stripping the ball at every opportunity
2. Spy on, not just contain, Justin Fields
3. Patterson must play his best game as a dual-threat quarterback with better pocket presence and run decisively
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:32 PM ^
My three
No turnovers
Shea needs to have his best game by getting the ball out on time and on target
Defense needs to keep Fields in the pocket and limit scrambling
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
1) 10+ targets for Nico
2) Keep Fields in the pocket
3) Never leave one of our tackles one on one with Young
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:34 PM ^
The entire OSU team needs to come down with dysentery.....
But seriously, find some way, any way, to keep Fields in the pocket. I sure as hell am not banking on that. He’s going to convert several third and longs. We need to accept that now. But maybe force him to a draw in this area?
Second, find a way to force some turnovers. PSU showed today that it’s possible. You can rattle these guys. Maybe find a way to do it on the road and maybe it permanently gets them out of their comfort zone?
Third, you’ve got to put Black, DPJ and Collins in a position to carry this team. They’re your best players. They’re your best chance. Got to get the ball out fast, but get the ball in their hands and let them make plays. Haskins and Charbonnet aren’t getting very far next week.
Lastly, and for bonus points, they’ve got to believe this can happen. I know that sounds stupid and cliche, but OSU holds two decades of confidence in its hands. You can’t walk around on eggshells in this game. Take some chances. Play to win. What do you have to lose? No one in their right mind expects you to win.

Zero turnovers
Cause 3 turnovers
Score over 35 points
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:34 PM ^
Make Fields beat you with his arm.
Slow Dobbins.
Don't let Chase Young make some momentum changing play.
It'll be hard though as they are on PEDs.
November 24th, 2019 at 12:35 AM ^
Making baseless claims is fun...Harbaugh sleep in the same bed with Nordin's little brother! See I can do it too.

It’s an internet message board, what do you expect lol
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
Win the turnover battle. Win the special teams battle. Win the third down battle.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:38 PM ^
Poor weather, time of possession to keep their offense off the field, a couple turnovers. Edit side note: don't talk shit and proclaim this is a statement game.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:58 PM ^
Why poor weather? #speedinspace is finally operational and you want weather to ground it?
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:38 PM ^

On both sides of the ball right?
I was thinking cut off their thumbs and big toes.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:40 PM ^
1. First man to the ball has to make the tackle. Spread offenses crush you if the first guy misses.
2. Get two turnovers.
3. O-line blocks well enough for us to take shots downfield.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
1. Limit Fields on the ground especially in high leverage situations. If he gets 3-4 yards occasionally fine. Our team has to prevent him from converting on third and medium to long.
2. Pass protection has to be good enough such that we can take advantage of our wide receivers. Must double Young and try to make it so that he doesn’t adversely affect the result.
3. Harbaugh and the coaches have got to recognize we’re going to need to score points in all likelihood to pull this off. If we are 4th and 2 or 3 in plus territory we may have to pull the ripcord and go for it.
November 23rd, 2019 at 10:11 PM ^
#3 is pretty much the entire reason we fired Pep and hired Gattis.
I expect we're going to let it all hang out next weekend. And if they beat us, so be it, but they're getting our best shot.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
1) Win the turnover/field position battle which leads to 10 points.
2) Patterson has to keep the ball and run several times to keep the defense honest. Quick passing decisions to mitigate Young's effectiveness.
3) Dobbins will get a fair amount of yardage, but make him work for it. No big plays. Contain Fields ability to run for big/crucial gains.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:45 PM ^
I really agree with #2. I'm hoping Shea has been waiting all season to keep it on the read option for this game
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:44 PM ^
1. Win the turnover battle
2. Win 3rd down
3. Limit big plays by them
4. Profit
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:44 PM ^
It’s quite simple and always is with football.
1-win the turnover battle
2-win time of possession
3-no stupid penalties or dumbass gimmick plays when you are driving that kill it
4-need some big returns on special teams
5- sweep the leg Johnny
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:45 PM ^
1. Time for Patterson
2. No time for Fields
3. Win the turnover battle
I'm confident that if we do these 3 things we WILL win. It'll be very hard to do all of them though. With that said, the 3 of them are not independent of each other so if we do one, it'll be easy to do the others.
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Agree here.
1)Time for Patterson or scheme to get the ball out quickly.
2)Pressure but contain Fields
3)Limit mistakes (TO's, missed tackles)
November 23rd, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Wolverines going to get their arses handed to them. Sorry, but that is just the way it is. I wish it weren’t so.
