Noah Furbush now a Marine!
November 15th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
This is not a surprise in the least. Highly intelligent, hard worker, overachiever, team player, repeatedly slammed himself into the OL so other teammates could get the tackle and the glory. Seems like the perfect mentality for a Marine
November 15th, 2019 at 12:50 PM ^
I see your intelligent comment and raise you one Navy joke:
A sailor in a bar leans over to the guy next to him and asks, "Hey, do you want to hear a Marine joke?"
The guy responds, "Well, before you tell that joke, you should know that I'm 6-foot tall, I weigh 200 pounds, and I'm a Marine. The guy sitting next to me is 6′ 2″, weighs 250 pounds, and he's also a Marine. Now, you still wanna tell me that joke?"
The sailor says, "Nah, I don't want to have to explain it more than twice."
November 15th, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
I don't get it.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:10 PM ^
Maybe he can spell it out with a crayon.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:36 PM ^
You don't spell with crayons... You eat them.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:03 PM ^
The reason the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines bicker amongst themselves is that they don’t speak the same language. For instance, Take the simple phrase “secure the building”. The Army will post guards around the place. The Navy will turn out the lights and lock the doors. The Marines will kill everybody inside and set up a headquarters. The Air Force will take out a five year lease with an option to buy.
November 15th, 2019 at 2:36 PM ^
The Navy is like Uber, but for Marines.
November 15th, 2019 at 5:43 PM ^
This joke played out in real life during the LA riots when police were teamed up with Marines responding to a domestic dispute and took fire. The cops yelled "cover me" meaning they wanted the Marines to keep their guns trained on the windows and doors. "Cover me" unfortunately meant something different to Marines and they immediately fired 200+ rounds into the house. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
How do each of the Services "secure" a building?
The Navy locks the door and leaves.
The Army posts a sentry and leaves.
The Marines land on the roof with helicopters, capture and segregate for interrogation everyone inside, and establish a defensive perimeter.
The Air Force signs a three year lease with a two year option to renew.

GO NAVY !
1986-1990
Son is a Marine at Camp LeJuene.
ooo-rah
November 15th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
Congrats young man! May god grant you all the crayons your heart desires.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
Lmao, who downvoted this?
November 15th, 2019 at 12:31 PM ^
I didn't understand this comment, so Google to the rescue:
November 15th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
....and this is why any Marine is a braver soul than I, for I steadfastly refuse to consider eating crayons.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:28 PM ^
Cool, but I imagine it's not that hard for a recently graduated D1 athlete to make it through marine training. He should apply to be a SEAL next.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
You're all sorts of stupid today, aren't you?
November 15th, 2019 at 12:37 PM ^
Who said it was hard for him?
November 15th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
Of the roughly 30% of candidates that wash out of OCS (% it was a few years ago), most do so for reasons other than being physically fit enough. Plenty of PT studs wash out every cycle, you would be surprised at some of the young men and women who don't finish.
It is an accomplishment worth applauding.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
What do we have here, a fucking comedian! You can come over to my house and fuck my sister!
November 15th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Choke yourself!
November 15th, 2019 at 1:26 PM ^
Nice FMJ reference. But just in case it isn't, I also can be funny!
November 15th, 2019 at 1:02 PM ^
Is your comment coming from personal experience or just some dumbass thought you should have kept about your internal monologue?
November 15th, 2019 at 3:03 PM ^
It's probably coming from a place that you personally can't imagine. Fit for football doesn't nearly mean fit for the Marine Corps. Former Navy pilot here, and my son is a Marine pilot who can attest to that.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:03 PM ^
I can't speak for those who go through OCS, but Parris island was hard on every recruit when I was there. 90% of that was psychological.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Correct. Ask anyone who wrestled in high school and they’ll tell you the physical aspect of boot camp was easy.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:39 PM ^
You do realize that becoming a Marine goes far beyond physical attributes, right? I imagine most recruits who wash out do it for reasons that are beyond the physical.
If you can't hack it physically, I doubt they even let you through the front door of the recruiting office.
November 15th, 2019 at 2:06 PM ^
The US Navy recruiter is the next office down the hall.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:28 PM ^
Not just a marine, but an officer. Bad ass.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
"Any officer can get by on his sergeants. To be a sergeant you have to know your stuff. I'd rather be an outstanding sergeant than just another officer."
SgtMaj Dan Daly
Two Time Medal of Honor winner.
November 15th, 2019 at 2:35 PM ^
All are part of the team and he gets kudos for joining the worlds best fighting force! OORAHH!!
that being said, Officers are like flys, they eat shit and bother people!! LOL, us SGTs ran the joint!!
Welcome to the brotherhood LT Furbush!! Rah bitches, beat state!!
November 15th, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
“Louie Louie don’t you know”
”Marines aren’t made at Quantico”
November 15th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
It's a shame he volunteered to fight for US imperialist interests.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:39 PM ^
Maybe he felt he could be an influence maker for good in a system that drastically needed his help.
But that would mean that he's a better person than (probably) you, for actually trying to make a difference. Carry on.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
First post in 6 months and this is what you show up with?
November 15th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
Couldn't agree more bortha. He signed up to be a pawn that the US gives two shits about other than making guys in suits richer and able to keep their lifestyle without having to do the dirty work themselves. Yea, congrats bud
November 15th, 2019 at 5:04 PM ^
You might want to add yourself in the conversation .These men/woman are giving all of us, the freedom that you take for granted
Thank you Noah and all the other service members
November 15th, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
You are very ignorant and seemingly arrogant which is a brutal combination. It's clear you have never served anywhere (other than yourself perhaps) and don't appreciate those that do serve. At least you didn't call him a baby killer I guess.
2nd Lt Furbush will have an incredible career ahead of him. Assuming he stays on track to become a Marine Corps Aviator, he will GET PAID to fly incredible aircraft such as the F-35, F/A-18 Hornet, AH-1 Cobra or V-22 Osprey, while traveling the world and leading some of the finest people this country has to offer. I assure you he won't feel like a pawn. Another benefit is he won't have to put up with jerks like you on a daily basis.
Also, having worked in the aerospace/defense industry for several years, I can assure you the number of "rich guys in suits" are very few and far between.
November 16th, 2019 at 9:36 AM ^
This view is actually humorous because it's so, so dumb. The even funnier part is that those like you that believe this actually think they have a sophisticated worldview.
"hurr hurr, we're working for the man that don't care about us, it's all about making the rich richer, burr durr, take the red pill, garble garble"
November 15th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
Fuck you, Santa.
Semper Fi, lieutenant.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:15 PM ^
If only the United States would disband its military the world would be a peaceful happy place. No countries trying to invade or control others. All living in peaceful harmony. North Korea, China, Russia, Iran, Syria, and others only maintain militaries to protect themselves from the US. They will surely disband their militaries too.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Shut up Carl
November 15th, 2019 at 1:48 PM ^
What the hell is wrong with you?
I mean, I have some issues with how much money we spend on the military (especially on shit that doesn't work), but do you understand what the alternative is to US global hegemony? It's Russian and Chinese global hegemony.
So the choice is between a country founded on principals of freedom and that at least tries to do the right thing (sometimes), or brutal, authoritarian, dictatorships running the show. But hey, maybe that's what you want.
Christ you're stupid.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:51 PM ^
Please move to Canada, you fucking poon.
November 15th, 2019 at 1:57 PM ^
Hey man Canada is a nice place, don't put that evil on them. He should move to Russia.
November 15th, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Omg I died when I read “poon”
November 15th, 2019 at 1:55 PM ^
Jesus, you’re a special kind of stupid.
