Vegas Line Has Michigan -12 v Sparty
Glad to see this - nothing good happens when we are over two touchdown plus favorites versus little brother.
I think we will cover and more - but I have had no luck in Vegas betting on Michigan, and will stay off it. Just wondering who would take Sparty and 12 points.
Interestingly, Minnesota is a 2 point dog at Iowa. Not much respect for the new #7 in the country.
When you have little brother down - stomp his ass and keep him there permanently. Go Blue!

Well, this seems excessive. I mean, I think Michigan wins but by 12 touchdowns?
November 10th, 2019 at 3:17 PM ^
That line will be going higher to the negative. Better get on it now.

They lost a couple more players to injury yesterday, but the odd thing is that their offense played quite well. Clearly, they may be very disillusioned, but they are playing for pride and need to win two of the last three to make a bowl. I wouldn't be surprised if the line tightens, either, given the closeness of these games and the way that Michigan has recently disappointed Vegas.
Curious how others see this.

Lewerke may be concussed after that knee to the head he took. Their O looked functional but Illinois doesn’t have a great defense. I expect we hold them to 13 points or less. Just need the offense to do its job and put them away early.
November 10th, 2019 at 5:33 PM ^
Mork says that Lewerke is “fine”. Concussed or not, sounds like Mork isn’t letting a neurologist anywhere near his QB. I love how this gets no media attention simply because it’s MSU and it’s just expected at this point.
November 10th, 2019 at 8:29 PM ^
It wouldn't matter. MSU has had terrible quarterbacking against us every year under Harbaugh, and we still lose, or win by a lot less than we should. When you turtle up and run every predictable play possible, it's guaranteed to keep things close, no matter how bad their offense is.
November 10th, 2019 at 5:35 PM ^
Couldn't agree more NeverPunt. Get the lead, kill their will and open up a can of whoop-ass.
GO BLUE ? ?
November 10th, 2019 at 6:19 PM ^
Illinois was without two starting LBs and couldn't stop the run. MSU lost largely because they only scored 6 points in the second half.
MSU's offense still has a lot to prove. They did find a functional RB. The gulf between them and their defense has evaporated, but it's the defense that gets most of the credit for that.
November 11th, 2019 at 6:18 AM ^
Whatever it is, I would take the points. I expect it to be a tight game, as usual.

I’m guessing last year was the first time we covered against Sparty since 06?
November 10th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
It was the first time since Dantonio's arrival, yes.

Or maybe just a ton of respect for Iowa at home. Kinnick Stadium does weird shit to road teams.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
Especially in November.

Kinnick in November?
Thats where dreams go to die.

Agree, little brother is just one terrible football team. I look for the spread to take off right before the game when the smart money starts coming in on UM.
November 10th, 2019 at 7:08 PM ^
Michigan is actually the middle child- wait till the Biggest Brother- OSU- comes and kicks its ass. What goes around comes around!
November 10th, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
I think you're missing the point of what "little brother" means.
BTW, OSU is actually the youngest of the three institutions (founded in 1870). And considering that they give out gold pants for beating us, refuse to call us by name and even wrote a song about how much they "don't give a damn" about our state . . . even Sparty isn't that little brotherish.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
FWIW, a short while ago I noticed that the line is only -10 1/2 on ESPN's college football schedule. I had been expecting us to be favored by about 17.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
Not in a rivalry game where we haven’t paved them in quite some time. Sparty will come to play especially if it’s Mork’s swan song. Need to score early and often and take their spirit and we may see a 17+ point win. Let them linger though....
November 10th, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
Vegas exists to take money from people who believe in the “rivalry game” mythos.
November 10th, 2019 at 7:08 PM ^
Precisely why they won’t put a blowout spread on this
November 10th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
Don’t think I’ve ever won a bet on a Michigan game. Whether it’s for or against them. Just a total mush
November 10th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
I did, once. Against Arkansas, they were part of a parlay. Of course they were the ones that almost lost it for me.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
So you’re obligated to bet against Michigan. Thank you.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
I've talked to a lot of fellow Michigan fans who are still nervous about the game next week.
Guys, it's ok to be confident that they're going to kick state's ass. It's long overdue and you know the team is going to relish this opportunity.
38-0 Michigan.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
There’s nothing about Michigan’s offense that makes me sure they will kick ass consistently.
A bad game from Shea is all it will take to make this game scary. On the other hand, a good game from him makes this a likely rout. I’m just not confident in him.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
I don't think they're going to need to rely on Shea very much with the way the o line has rounded into form. A steady diet of Charbonnet, Haskins, and Wilson will wear them down.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Lots of snow and cold forecast for this week; I'm thinking this will ND Gameplan again with lots of running a little for Shea to do.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
There is absolutely no snow in the forecast for AA after Tuesday. What weather app are you looking at?
November 10th, 2019 at 5:31 PM ^
I'm guessing the Farmer's Almanac app. It runs only on Windows CE and the Blackberry OS.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
FWIW, I was confident we would in 2016, 2017 (sort of) and 2018.
Maybe this time.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Every time I think that, I’m wrong.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
Seems reasonable. It’s hard for Michigan to blow out MSU.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
No way the line gets released at less than a 2 touchdown Michigan favorite.
Bovada and other big books will probably release the game at -18 Michigan.
November 10th, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
I wouldn’t go as far as 18 but you’re right that when Bovada releases it’s lines tomorrow morning that it probably may be higher but I say like around 14 and then will right away get bet up and hover around 15 most of the week
November 10th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
State always seems to be up to play hard against Michigan. Hopefully at this point in their season State comes out flat and gets steam rolled.
ESPN FPI gives Michigan a 84% chance of winning, anyone know if their a way to equate that to a point spread?
November 10th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Cue concern trolls:
"Its their Superbowl"
"Us against the World Mentality"
"Playing for their embattled coaching staff"
"Michigan always gets their best game"
"Been practicing special plays for Michigan all year"
"Sparty always plays Michigan close"
"Weather machine"
Cue current team mentality about Sparty:

Never bet on Michigan to win. Never bet on Michigan to lose. I first heard that in the 1980s.. With that said, here's to murder!

Fuck their super bowl and whatever MSU stands for. We will kick their ass because we are the better team.
Michigan 34 MSU 6
November 10th, 2019 at 4:31 PM ^
Anyone know if Stewart is expected back this week or not. Without him they are going to be hurt big time in the passing game. Collins is a good RB but mostly against average to bad defenses.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
From what I heard, he’s supposedly gonna be able to play. Who knows. Don’t think it’ll matter either way
November 10th, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
He probably isn’t. According to Matt Charbonneau he might be out the rest of the regular season.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
I don't think we've beaten MSU, ND, PSU or OSU (for sure) two years in a row under Harbaugh. Sure would be nice to end that streak on Saturday.
