Fleck or Harbaugh
The question that must be asked, is PJ Fleck a better COLLEGE coach that Harbaugh. Legit question considering what both coaches have so far accomplished given the tools they have been given. It is categorically unquestionable PJ has surpassed JH in his time at Univ Minn., given the respective resources available...i hate Fleck's politics but think he is a better coach...
November 9th, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
Harbaugh has done more, and is good, but was overrated around these parts (by me as well). Fleck seems good though.
November 9th, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
Fuckin serious? Harbaugh all day. What do you mean his politics?
November 9th, 2019 at 9:44 PM ^
And I don't particularly like Harbaugh's politics, but the only things that matter to me is that he runs a clean program and wins.
November 9th, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
Da fuq are any of you talking about?
November 9th, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
Exactly LOL
November 10th, 2019 at 1:50 AM ^
I dont like your politics.

We graduate players with real degrees. We haven’t had any scandals. We win.
Fleck is a heck of a coach. I’m very happy with Harbaugh. If we played Minnie my money is on Michigan.
November 9th, 2019 at 10:55 PM ^
You have no idea what kinds of degrees Michigan players graduate with. You have no idea what goes on in the athletic department with regard to degrees.
Come on, they are athletes FIRST, just like every other friggin football factory.
Quit the pollyanna holier-than-thou bullshit. You sound like you are 12.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:45 AM ^
Exactly, OSU has a recruiting graphic they use that shows out players majors vs their players majors. Lol
November 10th, 2019 at 1:14 AM ^
OSU's recruiting graphic is about as reliable as Urban's word. I've seen that graphic. OSU kids' various majors are compared to Michigan's several "general studies" majors. I'd take a GS degree from UM over any degree from OSU any day. And since when did the name of the degree mean the kid even earned it? Joey Bosa could have a degree in nuclear physics from OSU, but he still can't read.
November 10th, 2019 at 9:00 AM ^
funny --upvote -- and the bosa bros can't read --lol
November 10th, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
I mean, if you'd take a GS degree over a business degree from OSU you're probably the exact kind of person Michigan wants in the GS program (your checks cash and you don't take up too much oxygen)...
November 10th, 2019 at 3:54 PM ^
Nice try. If you want to argue that OSU's football team is better than Michigan's, fine. But you are a fool if you think OSU's academics compare to Michigan's. And to your specific point, yes, I would take a degree with a GS major from UM over a degree from OSU as a business major. All day, any day.
November 10th, 2019 at 5:16 PM ^
And that is why you are stupid.
November 10th, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
Haaa, it's okay, Pharaoh, I'll still tip you when you deliver my pizza. Don't worry.
November 11th, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
Numerous UM players have come out and said they weren’t afforded a legit chance to get the education they were promised. Jim Harbaugh is one of those people, and should prohibit our players from GS majors.
November 10th, 2019 at 8:49 AM ^
Real degrees? Does Minnesota have a General Studies program for you to malign?
November 9th, 2019 at 10:03 PM ^
Fleck visited Minnys governor who’s a Democrat? So I guess that’s his “politics” (and considering how much Trump is hated by AAs, that’s probably a good thing since 75% of his team is black)
Harbaugh to me seems to be pretty middle of the road. Pretty staunchly conservative on some things like the American Sniper fiasco then supported Obama/Clinton through all the Trump nonsense back in 2016. Family was guests of a few Republican representatives in the state house too. Harbaugh also did charity work with Michelle Obama.
In terms of coaching, I have zero clue as to what Harbaugh is doing on offense. Minnesota has a better offense with less than half the athletes and talent.
November 9th, 2019 at 10:04 PM ^
Do you work for CNN?
November 9th, 2019 at 10:19 PM ^
Just objective fact...Fleck has been a better football coach over the last 5 years.
November 9th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
Harbaugh has 55 wins over 5 years. Fleck has 42 over the same period.
November 9th, 2019 at 10:32 PM ^
Fleck has done much more with much less. Harbaugh is a good coach for sure, but what Fleck has done has been pretty amazing over the last 5 years. Dude is gonna get PAID by someone.
November 9th, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
2013 Western Michigan 1-11
2014 Western Michigan 8-5
2015 Western Michigan 8-5
2016 Western Michigan 11-1
2017 Minnesota 5-7
2018 Minnesota 7-6
2019 Minnesota 9-0 (to date)
PJ Fleck seems like quite a motivator and seemingly likeable. I hope the guy gets paid and if Michigan doesn't miraculously get to the B1G Championship game I hope he wins 100 - 0.
Last five years 40 - 19 with, prior to today, a win over Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl as his program's biggest win.
"He's done much more...". He had a good day today but let's not jump the shark here.
November 9th, 2019 at 11:19 PM ^
What Fleck has done at his last two gigs with the talent he has had is what i mean by "much more".
In rigorous honesty...you think Fleck, if he was the head coach at Michigan over the last 5 years, would have done a poorer job than Harbaugh?
It is pure conjecture, but I think Fleck would have done just as good of a job at Michigan as Harbaugh has done. Per your words..."lets not jump the shark"...Harbaugh has had Michigan, at best, the 3rd best team in the B10 in his 5 years here. Harbaugh has been an amazing coach in the past. His pedigree speaks for itself. But he hasn't been able to replicate his success at Michigan and has not been an elite coach here. Good...but no where near great, and certainly no where near being a legendary Michigan Coach.

Ah yes the terror dome that is the MAC conference and the big ten west. Incredible crucibles of competition.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:15 AM ^
OK. His team beat Penn State. Still quite an accomplishment.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:06 AM ^
Yeah, he may have beat Penn State today, but we almost beat Penn State a couple of weeks ago. Plus, we play in the Big East, meaning we have to play Penn State instead of teams like "Maryland" or "Rutgers". Minnesotta doesn't do that last year. Also, lest we forget, but Harbaugh coached San Diego to 11-1 in 2005 and 2006. Which is better because Fleck never even coached San Diego. Or the superbowl.

Could you repeat that?
November 10th, 2019 at 9:55 AM ^
No I don’t think Fleck would have done as good or better at Michigan. Fleck has beaten nobody while he was the coach at wmu, and until yesterday, while he was the coach at Minnesota.
Winning in the MAC and B1G west doesn’t mean you win in big boys conferences and divisions.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:59 PM ^
I guess you were down on Urban Meyer at BGSU and Utah?
November 10th, 2019 at 11:00 AM ^
Serious? at minnesota he inherited some serious talent at running back along with the wide receivers that are all seniors. He is biggest playmakers he didnt even recruit.
Those players also could play on any big team other than maybe osu..
Let's see how good he is next year when those guys all graduate.
Their schedule was a cake walk for 8 games and they nearly blew a huge lead to penn state who had a ton of self inflicted turnovers.. penn state's qb gave minn the game.
They didnt get mich pressure the whole game, Clifford just forced some idiotic throws.
Also the first and goal when Penn state ran it 3 straight times up the middle was pure Harbaugh playcalling and it lost penn state the game.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:54 AM ^
Didnt Harbaugh do more with less as well?
November 10th, 2019 at 6:16 AM ^
Fleck also plays a much weaker schedule. Weaker bowl opponents and weaker non conf games

Anybody who pulls out a big fake motivational diamond is not for me. Flecks shtick would get old.
November 9th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
I'm not rowing any fucking boat. Sorry. Not sorry.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:30 AM ^
It doesn’t matter if you row the boat. As long as the fucking players buy in that’s all that matters.

Carr did similar with the 97 team and pickaxes.

November 10th, 2019 at 10:15 AM ^

November 10th, 2019 at 1:13 PM ^
That diamond thing was so stupid. He's like a satire of a motivational speaker. Also, what other major program is going to let him plaster "Row the Boat" everywhere for a third time? It's one thing when you're WMU or Minn, but imagine him trying that at Michigan or MSU or any other major program with a whiff of modern era success.
November 10th, 2019 at 7:22 AM ^
That’s not an “objective fact”. It’s completely made up and inaccurate bullshit.
November 9th, 2019 at 10:59 PM ^
Sure, neg me all you like, but the thing is, Minnesota is having their best year in how long? While we are still having a shitstorm of a year where you jabonies question your funde, emtal values. Im right, and most of you shitheads neg Harbaugh every chance you get. I dont dislike him, bu t PJ is doing more with less. Is this even a qustion?
November 9th, 2019 at 11:51 PM ^
You’re an idiot.
