Michigan gets Crystal Ball for MSU decommit PG Jalen Terry
One crystal ball isn't always newsworthy, however, 4 star, #56 overall point guard Jalen Terry recently decommited from MSU, and a crystal ball was put in for Michigan by a Michigan State insider Sean Scherer, who is also listed as a "lead expert" by 247. Keep in mind that every other crystal ball was put in before he had committed to MSU. He decommited this week.

Don’t know basketball but he seems tiny
October 17th, 2019 at 9:06 PM ^
Muggsy Bogues may disagree with you.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
He's Calvin Murphy sized. And Calvin was a helluva guard.
October 17th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
Lol Calvin Murphy played college ball nearly 50 years ago
October 18th, 2019 at 9:38 AM ^
Ageist much? He also was a baton twirler. Short is not limiting if you can play. Dexterity beats size in the long run. It's an old story but a good one.
Beat PSU!

And don't forget Spud Webb and Tiny Archibald. And Verne Troyer.

Nick Saban and Bill Belichick.

Hijacking this comment to say that Josh Henschke just posted that Terry himself said he "hasn't heard from Michigan since his decommitment from MSU."
Zeb is the guy at PG. End of story. None of the people on MSU's 24/7 board have ever shown themselves to have good sources.
October 17th, 2019 at 11:59 PM ^
Yes and Scherer is one guy whose CBs I've learned to ignore. I can't think of anyone less reliable on 247.
October 18th, 2019 at 6:27 AM ^
Zeb is a small shooting guard.
October 18th, 2019 at 10:13 AM ^
Well, the staff disagrees.
October 17th, 2019 at 11:25 PM ^
When he decommitted, I read that he is smaller than Foster Loyer.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:51 AM ^
Foster Loyer also just wasn’t good last season. I’m sure he will end up being a decent enough player, but I’m not sure I saw him take a single shot where he was confident, looked like the game was moving too fast for him all the time and had the deer-in-headlights look. Freshman caveat applies, of course
October 17th, 2019 at 11:44 PM ^
Watch his highlights. He's small but very athletic.
October 17th, 2019 at 11:59 PM ^
Maybe why tiny tom liked him!
October 18th, 2019 at 1:28 AM ^
He can probably push the ball up the court in a flash. Important on defensive rebound and fast break opportunities. Granted, I know nothing about the young man but when you're ranked top 60 at 5-10 then you most likely have that ability.
October 18th, 2019 at 9:32 AM ^
Ability is great and all until you get to a higher level when players also have the ability, oh and they all have half a foot and 50 lbs on you. I was a phenomenal running back at 5’10” 160 lbs. but let’s not get it twisted what would have happened if I played in college.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:01 PM ^
We're on a roll..
October 17th, 2019 at 10:44 PM ^
...and MSU is getting rick-rolled.
October 17th, 2019 at 11:36 PM ^
Sup.....Butta
October 18th, 2019 at 1:15 AM ^
Eh, he is only ranked 56. Too low, do not want.

October 17th, 2019 at 9:05 PM ^
At this point, we’re in a good position for so many higher ranked recruits that we may not even have a spot for the 56th ranked recruit in the country.
That’s wild.
October 17th, 2019 at 10:48 PM ^
Josh Christopher said via Instagram his recruitment just got more interesting with Isiah's commitment.

Once in a while, I read comments like this, and wonder what life must be like for a woman who reads sports blogs on the Internet.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:30 AM ^
I think it completely depends on the woman. I know two women who are huge sports fans. Both are intelligent, articulate, funny, and damn nice people. But you put the Red Wings game on for one or the Steelers game on the the other, and they turn into screaming maniacs with mouths like truckers.
They aren't the type to wilt over the comments made by anonymous posters on the internet. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of female sports fans aren't the same way.
October 18th, 2019 at 8:43 AM ^
Marry those women. Both of them!
October 18th, 2019 at 1:35 PM ^
If only they both weren't happily married. (Dammit!)
True story: I remember watching a Wings game with the first one in a downriver bar, and somewhere during the second period I asked, "You kiss your husband with that mouth?"
Without missing a beat and with a dirty grin that could melt your fillings, she replied, "With tongue."
Some guys get all the freakin' luck.

October 17th, 2019 at 11:31 PM ^
He has an official visit scheduled for the last game of the season.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:12 PM ^
Do we know if Howard has serious interest? I assume he has an offer, but seems like he'd have to wait until after Burnett is no longer an option, no?
EDIT: Nevermind, doesn't look like he has an offer according to 247.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:13 PM ^
He plays the same position as Zeb Jackson, a kid who has been committed to us for awhile and who is ranked in about the same spot. I would think we’re not even an option for Terry.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:19 PM ^
Zeb is a SG, a lil undersized, but he’s a bucket getter. Michigan is still openly recruiting PG
October 17th, 2019 at 10:09 PM ^
According to whom? This one crystal ball? Michigan doesn't have a single PG target that they've been legitimately linked to. They've visited combo guards, wings, and combo forwards, but zero PG's. Zeb is "the guy" at that position in this class.
edit: aaaaaannnddd Josh Henschke just said that Jalen Terry "hasn't heard from Michigan since his MSU decommitment."
October 17th, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
Burnett is being recruited as a PG, I’ve seen multiple basketball guys say that.
October 17th, 2019 at 10:18 PM ^
He's being recruited as a combo guard. I'm sure the staff peppered in some "oh yeah you'll definitely be able to see some time at the 1."
Michigan is not recruiting any more PG's barring unknown attrition, especially of the tiny 5'10" variety.
October 17th, 2019 at 11:28 PM ^
Nimari Burnett is indeed the consummate PG and at the top of the recruiting list here. He is listed as a CG because he can do it all-VERY well. Nimari is as dynamic of a guard, in this class, as I have seen film on. The kid is a winner in every sense and so much so that other elite recruits are quoted as stating that they hope to play with him-not just flippantly either...they mean it. He would be a huge addition.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:14 PM ^
If we can add hunter this team will be stacked for 2020. Tbh if I am Howard I would be wise to use 2019 as a building block. Show recruits what u can do and don’t overreact to any loses this season. If we can get players like Isaiah Todd were gonna be fine.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:14 PM ^
I’d be a little surprised if he has a spot with Zeb and if we land Nimari Burnett. If we don’t get Burnett, then it makes a little more sense.
October 17th, 2019 at 9:18 PM ^
I thought it was pretty much a given that Burnett was committing here. I've been out of the loop lately, so I could be way off on that.
Go Blue!
October 17th, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Bama is the current favorite but he won't be committing for a few months so there's time to make up ground.
October 17th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
I know that’s been said but his camp has denied Alabama is the favorite right now. I had read that he was just waiting for another big recruit to jump in here and it could cause a domino effect with Burnett.
October 17th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
Where is Matt D?
Edit: I see he changed his username just to eff with me.
October 18th, 2019 at 2:34 AM ^
He did? What's his new username?
(edit: NVM. It's on the front page; obvious new username is obvious)
October 18th, 2019 at 1:23 AM ^
Why the heck would you play basketball for Alabama ? Engineering?
October 18th, 2019 at 6:42 AM ^
They have a really cool hurricane simulator, I’m told.
