I guess tattoos are on the house.

Guess Clemson's bag man didn't get included in this.
August 20th, 2019 at 9:34 PM ^
Capitalized asset. They’re depreciating him over 20 years.
August 20th, 2019 at 7:24 PM ^
Yeah and those SEC figures are only the reported expenditures.
August 20th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
With SEC/ACC accounting and NCAA auditing, the real Clemson/Bama/GA/Auburn/LSU/TN/TA&M numbers are anyone's guess.
August 20th, 2019 at 7:39 PM ^
Yeah, SEC / ACC accounting and NCAA auditing, I'd think more along the line of The Wolf of Wall Street accounting / reporting principles.

It’s really hard to say....you have to take into consideration that UofM is a tough sell, regardless of how much we love it. Academics are tougher, less leeway, harder to stay eligible, cold as balls 6 months out of the year, and you really need to care about more than just football. It’s not hard to see why we’d have to spend more money on recruiting.
August 20th, 2019 at 11:31 PM ^
Cold as balls 6 months of the year? You must be joking. Most years it's only December through March. Maybe it's just my viking blood...

Clearly he meant UM to be read as "University of Minnesota".
Why he'd write that in a thread about Michigan football is anyone's guess.
August 20th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
With all that spending it's playoffs or bust, amirite?
August 20th, 2019 at 8:36 PM ^
What does "bust" mean in this case? I'm thinking it's more like "playoffs or reluctantly try again next year."
August 21st, 2019 at 1:39 AM ^
Lol at anyone who calls a game "must win". Must win or what? Lose? Get fired? Die horrible death?
August 20th, 2019 at 7:31 PM ^
PJ and Minnesota are spending like the big boys!
August 20th, 2019 at 7:33 PM ^
BBQs are expensive
August 20th, 2019 at 9:35 PM ^
It’s the side dishes that add up fast.
August 20th, 2019 at 7:34 PM ^
Might as well post an expenditure report for coke dealers with front businesses.
I mean, what am I supposed to take away from this? I'm glad michigan is leading the way in terms of reportable expenditures? Ok, I'm glad.
This was a particularly frustrating post because there was no summary or opinion, just a link to some bs analysis. Jmo.
Cheers.

Does this cost include private plane trips and helicopters? Didn't that happen at Georgia or am I mistaken?
August 20th, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
Kirby Smart flies around in his personal helicopter...

You don’t get any heat without putting fuel in the furnace.

You don't get an omelette without cracking some eggs

A crowded elevator smells different to midget.
August 20th, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Doesn’t include Clemson’s pharmaceutical extras and Georgia’s signing bonuses. Right Isaiah Wilson?!
August 20th, 2019 at 7:50 PM ^
Im kill after reading the title of this post
August 20th, 2019 at 7:54 PM ^
Wisconsin looks very Impressive. Georgia, USC, and Bama not so much... considering they're already in the middle of Talent rich areas.
August 20th, 2019 at 8:31 PM ^
Wisconsin is the most impressive, most bang for the buck. Why not cap recruiting to level the playing field?
August 20th, 2019 at 8:44 PM ^
Capping wont solve anything. Just more creative accounting on the SEC bag men's parts, and I'm guessing with their levels of income, that's not an issue. Private planes for everyone.

Cost of doing business, not surprised the top schools spend the most money.Honestly had no idea it was that much, wow.
August 21st, 2019 at 10:10 AM ^
I am shocked to hear that the SEC outspends everyone!
Said no one ever.
August 21st, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
Hidden costs?
August 21st, 2019 at 12:12 PM ^
I'm not sure about these numbers. Are we sure that each schools reported figure is based on the exact same criteria?
I'm sure the big numbers like travel, meals, reported gifts, etc. are the same but these can be skewed by how individual schools classify smaller expenses.
