That sucks. Wish him the best, and still hope he stays. He might just be seeing what his options are, but that's probably wishful thinking.
Lorenz-
Martin worked out with the team on Sunday and then didn't show Monday/Tuesday; was a clear back-and-forth deal for him.
Giles Jackson, George Johnson, and Mike Sainristil must have had one heluva practice on Sunday. I hope Oliver finds a good and successful fit.
Practice doesn't start until August.
Supervised practices don't start until August.
Athletes are given off season programs to follow.
Martin is touring U of Iowa today Thursday 6th.
Am not surprised.
Wow, can't have nice things.
So....where does that leave Yoder?
I hate the guy, but he claimed a news story....and now it has happened.
Nowhere. He guessed at what seemed likely based on his subscription accounts and eventually turned out to be right. He's still irrelevant.
Yup. You can't claim to be an "insider" with a 20% hit rate. Good job jumping at a story hoping to be the one that if it actually turns out he can claim dibs. I guess even a blind squirrel can find a nut. He's what's wrong with journalism. This is my admittedly simplified summation of the UV yesterday (I think?) that covered this ad nauseam.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
Balas had it first
Fair. So Yoder is still trash. Works for me!
FACKT!
He guessed. He was also off by 5 days.
He'll crow about being right here and not the numerous times where he was so wrong the AD released a notice of how not connected he was.
He loves to talk about what he knows but if you tracked all his predictions he’s about as accurate as throwing darts at a board
Yoder is trash, but everyone was showing a picture of Martin out to dinner with team the other day and yoder said he still thinks Martin leaves. Luck? Probably.
Supposedly Martin was attending team workouts as late as Sunday, then didn't show on Monday and Tuesday. I don't think anyone definitively knew.
Exactly, I don't think Oliver even knew,
Yup and I thought Oliver was in the lunch picture and wasn’t going anywhere.
Where does it leave Sam Webb? He claimed yesterday he was staying
Read Brian's breakdown on the main page. And WD showing Lorenz's quote. It was true at the time. Probably was just on the fence for a while.
This really sucks. Not for this year really but probably next.
Saying a guy is “staying” is not the same as “he’s on the fence”. Love Sam but he miscalculated that one.
Didn't his parents tweet he was staying, unless something came up?
Same place as always. The place where you say what the coaches/AD want you to say.
That's the downside of Webb. Great insider but always has to be perhaps "too careful" since he's always got to make sure the coaches aren't mad him since his info comes directly from them.
Yoder, unsurprisingly, stole it from Rivals. Balas I believe was the first to report on this story.
Stop trying to give that fraud any credit. He steals literally everything he "reports".
Reporting second hand rumors as fact does not count as you getting credit for breaking a story
"where does that leave Yoder?"
Just ask him here. He has 1 recently retired account, 4 banned accounts and bunch of new accounts he made after others got banned that are now going to be "active" because points are back. Plus he has several older accounts that he stays low key (not in the MK mold) on.
It is going to be a long season.
Because of the departure of a reserve slot receiver who we’ve seen very little of?
Yep. It's over for next year. A team can't lose reserve slots like that.
Looking forward to see if Coach H can put things back together for 2020.
Only 452 days till Michigan football.
Go Blue!
I better put the /s... just in case.
I will be laughing all the way to the bank at this comment in December when we are sitting at 8-4 with losses to Wisconsin, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. But hey, you’re right — we’ll kick 2020 off with a bang when we roll into the Outback Bowl to get that coveted 9th victory.
If you think losing Martin is the difference between us going 10-2 and 8-4....
this is either one seriously overblown hot take or the sarcasm went right over my head.
The reason you’ll be laughing isn’t the same reason that Oliver Martin left or his impact on the program. It’s easy to blame others while wearing a white jacket for Halloween in say, January! Good luck with your white coat with decorative buckles.
Fuck Off with your shitty attitude.
No, because we don’t have a RB, RT, DT, LB, corner depth, or a backup slot receiver.
This is a very talented roster...plain and simple.
It's a talented starting 22 but the rest of the roster has a long ways to go before it's on the same level as the programs that are regularly in the CFP. Not thrilled with how this years recruiting class is shaping up either.
Come on, you're gonna complain right before Michigan's biggest recruiting event in a few weeks? You'd think you'd learn about concern trolling from last year when you had to disappear after they landed like 10 recruits in a week.
It's Maizen!
We? You’re on the team? Well then, either get better at your position or switch to the gaping holes you speak about.
I think you missed the word "experienced" before RB, RT, etc....
Good thing you brought up the all-important backup slot position. Teams are decimated without one.
You'll never take back those corners with that type of attitude.
Kid couldn't stick it out for one more year? DPJ, Black and Collins all have potential to leave...
WR position looks uhh lacking for beyond 2019 especially on the outside.
I guess he really did get passed up by Sainristil.
I believe he's more of a slot guy. Must come down to competition. Hope he's happy wherever he ends up (sounds like he wants hometown Iowa).
That's part of the point, to me anyways, there's so much less (seemingly) competition there versus the aforementioned spot with sure-fire future NFL players
Less competition at the slot now, but if he's getting passed by younger guys that's worse. Hard to see why he would transfer if he thought he would start this season.
That's going to happen less and less from now on. Guys aren't going to wait for their 4th or 5th year to see significant PT, so recruiting projects is going to have you always playing catch up with teams who can recruit players who are killing it by their second year.
