Why is every Post becoming Clickbait? Add his name to the title, it isn't hard. If you were embedding something, I would let it slide 100%.
For real... "Texas officially announces hiring Luke Yaklich", followed by a link to wherever you read it. Why is this so hard for people?
It's their need for 'attention' and to feel 'clever' or 'special... that's why they do it.
Look at the recruiting network thread. I think all but two top-level comments are the same joke about bagmen,
"Texas hired WHO??? Click here to see the shocking details"
You'd think these jerk-offs get advertising dollars by the way they title their threads.
"Michigan *claps back* with THIS coaching hire"
"Coaching hire"? Too descriptive.
Waiting for the day threads become listicles.
Top Ten Foods Coach Harbaugh WON'T EAT (you won't believe #6!!!)
LMAO ?
90% of people who create posts around here are fucking terrible at relaying information.
What should be "5 star NC OLB Randy Pinkerton comments on Michigan recruitment" turns into "Randy Pinkerton"
Yet every time I complain about bad titles, I get voted down.
Recruiting posts are especially offensive. Titles like "Smith commits to UM", it's like who commited to which school?
Well how this mofo have -200 points or whatever and can start a thread is the real question.
Before he engaged in this banter he had about 300 points. Now not so much.
Dude... you aren't gaining revenue from people clinking on your board post. Be informative, please. There used to be an understood art of posting around here!
Oh man, turrible thread title. Absolutely not useful at all. How hard is "Official: Yaklich to Texas"?
What ^^^^^^^^ they said.
Tough crowd. The whole board practically had discussed this as unofficially official so I thought it made sense. Anyways, neg away ?
Doubling down, huh? Bold strategy, Cotton.
It’s literally 2 sentences, so I guess so boss ?♂️
Apologize, learn and move on is your best option.
I totally would if I had something to apologize for. You’re literally talking to the wrong guy if you think negging me into oblivion will change my mind. I’ve been a member for a few years and rarely comment or posted. If you didn’t like, you could have like......not commented
You are still being very obstinate and missing the point, and the point once again is that thread title should be a little more clear with a little bit of information not just 1 or 2 or 3 words. And this point has been made quite often.
And that’s a fair retort. I can respect that. I don’t think lambasting another’s choice for piggybacking off a board theme regarding one’s unofficial job status is respectful though. Again, just agree to disagree.
no but seriously, keep arguing with everyone, it'll turn out really well
Again, you’re literally talking to the wrong person if you thinking negging me into oblivion or attacking me will make me cower
no one is attacking you, or trying to make you cower. they're trying to correct you and instead of saying "sorry neg away" you're getting super defensive.
Great. Now I have to post a bunch of stupid shit just to get my negs back. Thanks, Sportawhatever.
This has nothing to do with "you". It has to do with the shitty thread title. No one cares about making "you" do anything, cower or otherwise. We just want people to stop posting threads with shitty titles. Your defensive responses, while entertaining to read at work, don't really matter in this discussion. Just stop with shitty thread titles.
We don't care if you don't change your mind. We aren't trying to make you cower. We're trying to make it so you can't create poorly titled threads with no supporting links. This was not your finest hour. Hopefully you will do better in the future.
Like literally, right?
This ain't 'Nam, there are rules.
We will!
Good for you ?
The issue people have is that there is not only one thing in the MGoBlog world that was rumored but not official (i.e. there are also Phil Martell and Mike Miller rumors). Adding Yaklich's name would have been quick and easy to do, and would have avoided any ambiguity.
After reading all the comments regarding the title, OP be like.....
....or like....
People who complain about thread titles are as annoying as the titles themselves.
And good luck, Yak.
? can agree with that
But not as annoying as those who refuse to learn.
Sportanut, you might not realize that JBE is punking you also.
"people who want an informative title, which follows blog rules, so they can decide whether the topic is interesting enough to even click the link are annoying"
I see your down votes, and I'm willing to die on this hill with you. Can I throw in the people who have to debate whether everything is threadworthy? It's the off-season... Who cares?
Can I also add in RIP posts? I don't come to the blog to get depressed...well, except for 2008-2014.
Don't tell me - Keith Jackson died . . .I knew it!
Wait, Keith Jackson died?!?
Let me post a thread to relay this ground breaking news.
Title: He Gone
Message: Keith Jackson died
Except it's explictly stated in the MGoBoard FAQ that thread titles should be as informative as possible. There's actually a guideline provided titled "What should I title my threads?" so, annoyance is...unwarranted.
My personal least favorite thing is "SIAP". All that means is you can't be bothered to do a quick search and see if someone has already posted it. If you were really sorry then you would have done your homework and been confidant that it is new content. I'd rather there be a double post without SIAP and one with.
But how do you feel about people who complain about people complaining about thread titles?
