Where to watch Michigan Football in Ann Arbor?
The Big House and home are the only places we watch Michigan Football games.
I have MBB season tickets and there's a game vs Holy Cross on Saturday at 7:30pm.
Anyone know a good place to go watch Michigan-rutgers at 3:30pm? I've heard Skeeps suggested. Something to note is I clap and yell watching games at home because I'm so used to doing it at home games.

If you're looking for a more college vibe, Skeeps and South U (Charley's, Brown Jug, Blue Lep) are your best options. The upside of South U is having all those options right next to each other, plus better food. Skeeps can get a bit more rowdy for games though and will have cheaper drinks.
November 8th, 2018 at 2:38 PM ^
The food at the Blue Leprechaun is abysmal. There's a reason it always has space on football Saturday's when all the other bars are full.

I've had people swear to me that Skeeps is the best, and that it's totally different than when it turns into that bar you only go to with a fake ID. Personally, I'm skeptical. I'd go with something like Hopcat or Ashleys and drink like an adult, but YMMV.
November 8th, 2018 at 12:29 AM ^
Skeeps pre-fake ID time versus Skeeps after fake ID time really are two different places.
It's actually a pretty fun sports bar for an afternoon game.
Hang around after it's over at your own risk though . . .

Plus they have/had a $6 burger and beer deal until 7 pm...in 2009.
Not sure that’s still around but a great place to enjoy a 3:30 game and be as rowdy as you want while basically having the place to yourself until around 9.
Also bizarre to see the OP asking this.
In addition to the other suggestions, you can always go to BW3 on State if you want to enjoy what it feels like to watch the game everywhere else in the country. But...why?
November 8th, 2018 at 5:57 AM ^
Seriously skeeps is a lot of fun for games (username does not check out here I guess lol) but yeah around 10ish at night is when the changeover happens for the frattier. Before that it's a mixed crowd of all ages. For home games you get a lot of visiting fans. I went for Wisco and it was a blast.
November 8th, 2018 at 8:04 AM ^
The only reason I'd ever want to go to Skeeps is if I wanted to relive my pre high school days.

I think you're perpetrating sarcasm, but not completely sure.

frasers is my preferred venue
November 8th, 2018 at 8:43 AM ^
Honest question...can someone please tell me what's so great about Fraser's? EVERYONE loves that place and it's such a dump -- with bad food and crappy projectors. They don't even have glasses, FFS; everything is served in a plastic cup....
November 8th, 2018 at 9:07 AM ^
what do you want out of the place, yuppie eliteness?
November 8th, 2018 at 12:45 PM ^
I have been to Fraser's many, many times and never been served in a plastic cup. Ever.
Then again, I don't usually go before home football games so I can't be sure. The food is average at best but it's a decent bar with lots of TV's and heavy pours if you're drinking liquor.
November 8th, 2018 at 1:01 PM ^
plastic cups only on gamedays
November 9th, 2018 at 3:31 PM ^
Exactly, I use to live right by there. Never had plastic cups and the food was pretty decent.

If you’re ever in San Diego on a football Saturday, you’re welcome to join me at my house. I yell and clap too. It’d be awesome. I’ll be making my third trip to Ann Arbor this season for Indiana. We’re a team on a mission and I’m trying to get there for as many games as I can. Nebraska and Penn State were great. Hoping for the same for Indiana.

I agree with Bando on Ashley’s. That would probably be my first option.
But how has this thread reached more than 5 entries without anyone yet mentioning Little Brown Jug or The Pretzel Bell???
November 8th, 2018 at 2:40 AM ^
The Jug was mentioned in the first comment, and it is also the correct answer.
November 8th, 2018 at 8:44 AM ^
My mistake, I totally missed it (though if you look at the time I posted my comment, the reason will become immediately apparent).
I know, I know ... "Quit drinking and go to bed."
November 8th, 2018 at 11:42 AM ^
I don’t know why, but I’m always thinking State over South U, even if I lived around the corner from the Jug for years...
Missin u, In-N-Out party store pizza.

Bdubs on state. Get some wings and enjoy the butt whoopin
November 8th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
BDubs has really overpriced food, BUT it is honestly a great place to watch a game. My feelings on BWW are more positive than negative just for that fact.

Rick's duh

Rick’s.
End thread.

I believe it's called "the Big House"
November 8th, 2018 at 9:58 AM ^
As soon as I read the title, I was like...Ummmm, this place?
November 8th, 2018 at 1:36 PM ^
The end zones look naked.
Love the new "bowl game" blue end zones.
November 8th, 2018 at 6:07 AM ^
Break into The Big House and listen to it on the radio.

FFS.. this question has to have been asked 1257964 times already. Search.. use Yelp.. JFC! Have you literally been nowhere in Ann Arbor except the stadium? When I last lived there the total count of sports bars was a whopping two, with 3-4 max other options with a guaranteed rowdy atmosphere, but literally every joint in town has the game on. Oh and they are all within a 10 minute walk of each other! Be adventurous and stop being a wanker.
November 8th, 2018 at 7:59 AM ^
I really don’t think you and others have any idea what I mean. I’m not a quiet person during games at all so certain places like BWW won’t work.
And I’ve been to BWW on a State St before for Michigan Hockey’s NCAA regional title win last year and the atmosphere was lame as fuck.

Beer Grotto is great...haven't been recently since they've upgraded but how many TV's do they have now? You think it's a good spot for a game? Do they turn the audio on as well?
November 8th, 2018 at 9:10 AM ^
I wouldn't expect much atmosphere for a Rutger game, regardless of venue
November 8th, 2018 at 6:34 AM ^
I go watch at Bar Louie sometimes

November 8th, 2018 at 7:03 AM ^
A lazy question without even the disguise of even a specific situation like a “group of 20” or “family friendly” or “who has the best tots”... Shame! Shame! Shame!
November 8th, 2018 at 6:55 AM ^
But Scott Paterno said the A2 bar scene is trash.
November 8th, 2018 at 7:12 AM ^
Best Buy Ann Arbor. A lot of TVs and the crowd is a little transient. Can be very cost efficient.
November 8th, 2018 at 8:11 AM ^
Plus you can fiddle with all of the volume controls on the electronics. That's a highlight of my youth.
November 8th, 2018 at 7:12 AM ^
Pizza House
Garage Bar
November 8th, 2018 at 7:18 AM ^
Usually when I’m in A2, I climb a telephone pole on Main Street and watch the games for free, like BITD. But Rutger is on the road so it will need to be a very tall pole.
November 8th, 2018 at 5:23 PM ^
Space elevator.
November 8th, 2018 at 7:30 AM ^
I'm pretty sure that basically every television in Ann Arbor will be tuned to the game, so that should not be an issue.
November 8th, 2018 at 7:53 AM ^
I like Red Hawk
November 8th, 2018 at 9:09 AM ^
A great bar, but not for what WD is looking for with rowdiness and yelling at all.
November 8th, 2018 at 11:07 AM ^
Holy crap I didnt realize he was the OP
November 8th, 2018 at 8:01 AM ^
WD, you’re probably the last person I would’ve ever expected to ask this question.
November 8th, 2018 at 8:26 AM ^
I'm surprised he didn't use one of his other accounts to ask.
November 8th, 2018 at 9:12 AM ^
Who do you think is giving him all the sincere replies?
