Pete Carroll and Urban will end up at Notre Dame next year when we ruin their season and Kelly is fired (probably).
No way ND would hire him if fired. Won’t happen.
Yeah, Catholics have a real issue employing anyone who has abused or covered up for abuse.
Lol. I hear ya, but you know they wouldn’t hire him. The media buzz would not be welcomed.
Yeah, probably not. I'm not anti-Catholic btw - my wife is very Catholic, most of my friends are too - just couldn't pass up such a softball!
Catholics are an Approved group for criticism.

LOL this is true. I am an equal opportunity shit talker, though, and dream of a day when all groups are approved criticism.

Yeah. Protestant altruism is above criticism, amirite Jimmy Bakker?
Gordon Gee agrees with this sentiment.
Stick to the no politics/religion rule.
Stick to the stick up your butt

Shut your cakehole wooden sled with a PHD....I just had to pat my shoulder for that one

However, "to forgive is divine", isn't that also the Catholic way?
So the Pope absolves and all is good.
August 1st, 2018 at 10:27 PM ^
Also, there's been eight Pope Urban's, so I'm sure they would hook him up.
ND would hire him in a NY second
In order of tOSU interest:
1. Bob Stoops
2. Tom Herman
3. Ryan Day
4. Mike Vrabel
5. David Shaw
Shaw? That seems like an odd choice to me.
He is squeaky clean, just read vegas odds have Pete C as one of the favorites. From what the nat'l pundits were saying Day was heavily sought after this offseason, and the reason tOSU gave him a raise. The hope in Cbus was he would stick around to be the successor, so they must like what they see in him. BTW, sounds like there are going to be some news outlets who might attack Courtney character. She's a local girl who went to Thomas Worthington high school and maybe has some small mis-steps in her teen years, but I doubt she is making this up, or making it worse. Whoever decides to go after her will get chopped up is my guess. My gut tells me he's the coach for their game at Jerry world week 3 vs. TCU. Like Mike Martin said on Twitter, "osu is investigating this, see you in November Urban".
August 1st, 2018 at 11:11 PM ^
Not buying that there will be smears on Courtney's character. 1. The story is a runaway now, there would be serious blowback. 2. The pics on the McMurphy story basically speak for themselves.
Stoops,maybe.
Herman, absolutely not. He's got Texas, which is just as much a powerhouse, if not more so.
Day? Who?
Vrabel: needs to actually prove himself as a coach on a lower level team
Shaw... ah, no.
Day is the current (temp) head coach of OSU
I'm telling you right now, as an Oklahoma fan and alumn, Bob Stoops is done coaching. He is very much happily retired.
Art Briles. It’s gonna happen
Perfect culture fit.....actually a better fit at MSU.
What about Art Schlichter? Buckeye legend at QB. Creative, charismatic, a dealmaker. Wouldnt be afraid to take gambles on the field.
Perfect candidate...

Is he still in jail?

Where my Earth, Wind and Fire tickets!
August 1st, 2018 at 10:04 PM ^
Plus he's already in hell so it's within walking distance to cbus.
David Shaw's quote: If you can convince my wife that city (insert name) is better than Palo Alto, then I'd consider it! Palo Alto or Columbus??? Maybe Shaw's wife wants to move to the Natty/Busch Light capital of the world. Plus, must be tough to find a quality dentist in Columbus.

Bob Stoops is an OU lifer. Only job he will ever take is OU AD.
I swear he's the only sane person in big-time college sports. The guys made millions and retired with 30-years of easy days ahead of him.
August 2nd, 2018 at 10:17 AM ^
Stoops maybe...he has said he has no interest in returning.
Texas is a better gig than OSU. And he can cement his own legacy there.
Vrabel is an NFL guy. Always has been. I doubt he'd go back to college. He's kind of fratboy-ish and a bit of a douchey type...he fits much better in the NFL.
Shaw has a great gig at Stanford. He can win 8 games a year forever and probably get a statue there. Too much pressure at OSU, and the moment he loses to Harbaugh, people will want him fired.
PLEASE hire David Shaw. Going from the Urban spread to the pro style Stanford has run since Harbaugh was there would be a sight to see.
Tom Herman isn’t happening. Texas was his dream school and he’s only in year 2 there.
Stoops is enjoying his retirement.
Vrabel is an interesting one. He left Ohio State in the first place because he hates Urban.
Ryan Day is the safe bet. Only 39 and has no ties to the Urban regime really.

Come on down Mork
someone May have posted. I’m on cell and don’t have time to Audit a thread
Maybe Pete Carroll? That's a name I've seen tossed around a lot, though I'm not sure why. Does he have connections to OSU?
I thought of that, but I can’t see him coming to Osu if he came back to college. West coast guy and wouldn’t want to play a well oiled Harbaugh squad.
I love Harbaugh, but doubt Pete is afraid of him. Pete is a great coach.
Harbaugh and Carroll love going against each other. I think that actually would make it more likely, not less. Not that I think he's looking to leave the NFL
Pete was an OSU assistant under Earle
Cmon, why would an NFL coach go back to college /s
Pete Carroll is turning 67 this year. Not that it's impossible that he'd make the change and that OSU would want a guy that old, but there has to be more likely candidates.
Not sure that being an assistant under Earle Bruce is what they are looking for here, given the lineage of the abusive coach...
August 1st, 2018 at 10:10 PM ^
Texas coach comes to mind.
Pete C. escaped from USC ahead of recruiting violations. No way a scandalized school like OSU hires another tainted coach. OSU prefers to taint coaches all by itself.
Probably not at the same level of taint, but it was pretty well known that Urban's Florida program had some cultural issues, but OSU hired him post Tressel.
August 1st, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
Hey Pete? What's YOUR deal??
August 2nd, 2018 at 10:14 AM ^
Why would Pete Carroll leave a successful NFL career to go to a place he has no connection to?
Colin Cowherd
Chat Sports is already reporting Harbaugh to Columbus.
John Harbaugh, to renew their rivalry.
Don't you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby!
