Gardner Audibles

Gardner does not have the freedom to audible on most plays.
November 9th, 2013 at 5:21 PM ^
...this is the stupidity of the coaching staff.
If Gardner can't audible...fine, you don't trust him.
Why not go with a controlled no huddle and a "check with me" system at the line?
It doesn't mean you have to be IU, Oregon or Baylor.
Just line up, if you like the play...run it, if not at least BORGES can audible if Gardner can't.
Why handcuff yourself?

I agree.
Chose one or the other. Doing neither pretty much means you suck as a coach.
In my opinion.

that maybe AL is just not a big fan of audibles in general, regardless of the QB? Also even if Devin had the free reign to audible at will, it is hard to do so when you don't get plays in quicker and get to line with the clock under 10 almost every time.

Borges and Hoke ran a lot of no-huddle with Lindley and had success with it.
Whatever the reason is that they aren't doing it here, it's not that they don't know how or think it's stupid. They did it before.

HAPPENED TO THE TEAM THAT PLAYED ND?

Perhaps juggling the line around wasn't the best idea? I'm not sure how if the gelled a bit that it could be anywhere as bad as this.
November 9th, 2013 at 4:46 PM ^
It's like Brian has complained about all season, we don't have any chance to audible because we have to hurry up and snap it
November 9th, 2013 at 4:47 PM ^
I mean Denard never audibled either. And like mentioned above, how can you audible when you get to the line with 10 seconds left. Our offense is just a mess.
November 9th, 2013 at 4:47 PM ^
He's already audibled a couple times today. I generally recommend watching the game before making your opinions known.
November 9th, 2013 at 7:54 PM ^
...but watching this game hurts my head (and heart)
November 9th, 2013 at 4:56 PM ^
yes i am @#$%^&*(*&^% YELLING!!!! - IT DOESN'T MATTER IF WE AUDIBLE - THIS TEAM IS SO FRAGILE IT IS RIDICULOUS. THE OFFENSIVE LINE IS AWFUL.

Whether right or wrong, I pretty much consider starting a thread criticizing Borges an asshole move at this point.
November 9th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
Checking to see if they were doing a check with me system or something that I may not have heard of. Rather than be a dick that I might have missed one audible, maybe consider that a guy who makes over 600 K is not above criticism.

This team has lost its confidence. It explains the inexplicable. The Akron game got the ball rolling and it has grown into an uncontrollable monstrosity.
November 9th, 2013 at 5:15 PM ^
This team has no reason to have confidence unfortunately.

This Wolverine team deserves to lose. I'm not trolling, I'm here all the time cheering for these boys. There's no heart out there.

Borges play calling reminds me of Callahan play calling when I moved out to Nebraksa, too complicated of a passing game, trying to do too many things, and not being very good at any of them with no identity or passion.

appears to be a QB coach on the payroll, but I never see him on the sidelines with Gardner. Oh wait there he is up in the booth fondling his face and too preoccupied calling a terrible gameplan to have the time to coach the QB on the sidelines during the game.

It's not just the play selection. WRs aren't coming back to the ball to help Devin out. That's been a huge problem today.
November 9th, 2013 at 5:12 PM ^
I have a gif of Lewan yelling "WHAT THE FUCK!"; so I am just going to post it in every thread for the duration of the game. I don't care what you guys say either.

If we do finish 6-6, is what are the chances of a total coaching changout? Im not saying I want it to happen...just seems more and more likely given the current CFB environment.
November 9th, 2013 at 5:23 PM ^
However, 6-6 in year 3 would be tough to swallow. Only way I could see Brandon doing that though, is if there is surefire name that he feels confident he can get. I think at the very least 6-6 would mean Brandon should scan the market to see what names are out there.

Can the Harmon family ask that the 98 be taken back?

November 9th, 2013 at 6:54 PM ^
My mind is boggled over this too. Why would you not trust Devin to make simple checks at the line when there are 8 or 9 guys lined up in the box????? I mean, he already has a degree and is in Graduate School at UM. I'm gonna guess he is kind of smart in that regard. I just don't understand. Most unimaginitive coaching staff i have ever seen. Unreal.
November 9th, 2013 at 7:09 PM ^
Deserves better than what our coaches are giving him. He is just a sitting duck back there.
