Even if universities split evenly $ for television contracts designated for "student salaries" there is no way that a member of Lacrosse is getting the same pay out as a member of the football team where that model is sustainable.
Unless the sport is revenue generating the $ shared can't be proportionate to be sustainable. Even when you pay out the $ in the sports that are financially sustainable you are not paying the starting QB the same as an incoming Freshman guard.
Once you have employees you have a new can of worms to muck through.
Paying Denard Robinson his value back in the day sounds like a rallying cry until his scholarship and pay comes at the cost of some Title 19 sport. The only end to all this will come at the cost of that which is not self sustainable as the free market giveth and the free market taketh away.

Eventually any and all athletic programs will find the ends of diminishing returns and be forced to no longer expand and/or reduce the number of sports they can support as the $ flows and grows.
The players will get paid in direct relation to the market value they demand and the very long list of sports that are not sustainable will be cut.

NIL will play a role in every recruitment of a top 100, top 250 prospect going forward, but there are still kids that look at the larger picture as well. M needs to identify these players and pursue them relentlessly.

I had to make a call on TEXAS or USC this year. I went USC as I thought Texas would be a tougher match up for Michigan and the weather is almost always boiling hot or a Western Michigan hail storm.
Only night games I have attend were UTL 1 and 2 thinking USC goes night time.
If in a Senior year of college your 31 year old Western Religions professor coming off a divorce asks you to pick up the course syllabus at her house on a Saturday, allows you to live rent free, cooks for you and encourages you to date.
I had no issue at the time that the BEARS had Tributtsky #1 on their board. However trading all that they did to move up 1 spot to 3 and pass on Deshaun Watson being there at 4 and keeping the 1st round pick will never make sense to me.
I said this at the time and will forever in hindsight.
BEARS have to go Caleb Williams at 1 but if Washington gave up a first round pick next year and a 2 now to move up for him I would grab that in a heartbeat.
