Obviously it's good money, but none of it is guaranteed. Brock Purdy signed for 4 yr(s) / $3,737,008. His signing bonus was $77,008. That's all he was owed had he been cut before the season.
Purdy, an obvious outlier, and he will undoubtedly get extended for big money also has received performance bonuses that essentially doubled his salary.
For comparison, the last pick of the 2023 NBA draft:
Chris Livingston signed a 4 year , $7,639,302 contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, including $3,011,420 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,909,826.
That's why as crazy as the tampering/portal/NIL situation is in CFB right now, I sorta get it.
He'll be behind Kyren Williams, so he will be fresh when he gets his carries. He seemed worn down this year, especially since The Don wasn't as effective for most od the season.
Yes. Guys fall constantly for off the field reasons. And sometimes it's just "fit." Or a combination of all three. The DT from Texas, T'Vondre Sweat. He's huge, listed at 6'5" and 366 pounds. Not every defense uses a pure nose tackle, so that eliminates a certain amount of teams. Then he had a DWI a few weeks back. Some teams will remove a player like that from their board entirely.
He went right around where he was projected, so it isn't a perfect example. But being the #3 ranked player at your position doesn't mean you're the 3rd best to every team.
Another example. I couldn't remember his name for a sec...
A bigger, jump-ball type WR to compliment Sun God and Jameson Williams. I like Troy Franklin or Ja'lynn Polk.
Edge to play oppo Hutch. Davenport can be good, but is inconsistent and coming off injury. Marshawn Kneeland from Western or Brennan Jackson from Wazzou.
Developmental Guard to replace Zeitler in '25. Christian Mahogany from BC, Zinter obviously, or Javion Cohen from Miami(YTM.)
So Franklin in the second, try to acquire a 3rd for Zinter, and Jackson in the 5th would be my ideal outcome.

My favorite Elton John song!
Missed Detroit trading up(again) to draft Mekhi Wingo, DT from LSU at 189. No more picks this year barring a trade.
Christian Mahogany, G from Boston College to the Lions at 210. I kinda called this one...

I'll take "What do the announcers say when Roman Wilson gets his hands on the ball" for $800, Alex.
Keon Coleman...🤣🤣🤣
He HAD to draft at least one of his guys. And who could blame him?
And at pick #69. Nice...
I was hoping Eamonn Dennis could have found the same mojo.
That has been my favorite from Eisen so far.
Doubling up at CB... I assume they just went BPA.

Michigan made the top-4 for in-state 2025 OL Avery Gach last night. Michigan, Michigan State
