Yep. With Hausmann in the 23…

Yep. With Hausmann in the 23 class and now Barham in the 24 class maybe the path to the field was too much for him. Sullivan was making plays in the Spring Game too, but that doesn't at all mean anything for the upcoming season.

I do recall reading about…

I do recall reading about Cole Sullivan making plays in the spring game, and Barham coming in also moves him down the depth chart. I guess the only positive of this is that he never played outside of the spring game (I'm assuming he played).

Agreed with all of these…

Agreed with all of these points. The reality is, that the coaching staff has just been finalized, and I don't think the staff has even been together for a whole month yet.  Relationships with recruits are years long processes, and although we won it all, most recruits probably lost their primary recruiter.

However, it appears we are close with a few recruits and I imagine once we get one others will start to come. Marshall, Galloway, Williams, Gach all have Crystal Balls for use, and if they all commit we would be the 17th ranked class.

Something else to watch is the RB class with Alford as coach. Alford recruited WELL for Ohio State, and had some guys seemingly ready to commit to them.

He's 100% gone if they make…

He's 100% gone if they make a bowl game this year, and to be honest they have a really favorable schedule this year. I could see some desperate team with big donors wanting him, especially if they struggle this year. I imagine Florida moves on from Napier after this year and could see them going after him.

Actually has some HC…

Actually has some HC experience too. On paper, seems like a good hire. Hope it translates on the field and the players like him.

Hopefully for the better…

Hopefully for the better. Maybe Wink can bring someone in. Does anyone know if we had other candidates rumored for the position before he was hired?

Only thing sad is how long…

Only thing sad is how long it took to happen

Was RB/AHC Coach from 2015…

Was RB/AHC Coach from 2015-23. It pains me to say it, but they put out a lot of great college RBs. Curtis Samuel, Zeke, Weber, Dobbins, Teague, Miyan, Henderson. We've had a lot of great ones too, and this seems like a great addition outside of him being OSU. This also helps to bring experience to a really young coaching staff.

His resume is really…

His resume is really impressive, but it's interesting to see his trajectory since leaving KC. Washington sucked, and now he's an OC at UCLA? Granted UCLA is a great school, they aren't in that top tier of CFB schools right now. It is interesting to see that he was offered the head coaching job at Colorado after being their OC in 2011-12. I believe Deions kids will be done after this next season at Colorado, along with Travis Hunter, and I could see him getting offers from bigger teams.

Agreed. I figured we would…

Agreed. I figured we would lose some bigger names to the portal, and I believe the window they have to enter ends next Friday.

To note, Sabb was basically a signing day flip from Clemson to us, so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back at Clemson or with Oklahoma and Venables. Further, 247 shows his primary recruiter as Courtney Morgan for us, who is now at Alabama.

All I've seen is he's been…

All I've seen is he's been away for personal matters. Honestly, I almost think we and the blog sites are reading way too much into it.

I don't think SF would take…

I don't think SF would take Wink. Seems like they will promote from within or get Vrabel. Really seems like Hart wants a HC role, and probably needs to take an OC role to get there. I'm really surprised Indiana didn't hire him as head coach since he was the associate head coach there before he came here. I don't see a clear path for him to move up from the RB coach role here, but would love for him to stay.

Is this the last spot we…

Is this the last spot we need to fill? I believe it is 10 assistant/coordinator roles

1. Wink

2. Campbell

3. Brown

4. Newsome

5. Casula

6. Bellamy

7. Hart (?)

8. Jean-Mary

9. Adegoke

10. Scruggs

6 because Lions. I wouldn't…

6 because Lions. I wouldn't mind if they got better, because I'd be very surprised if they don't draft a UM player at some point in the draft. Could also depend on who is on my Fantasy team next season.

I'm hoping this means Wink…

I'm hoping this means Wink wants to build out his own staff.

Hopefully, the reports are…

Hopefully, the reports are true that players were part of the wink hire, and approved of him. I can understand Clink leaving, as he probably felt he should be the DC. In my opinion, this was the last of the bigger names left that could leave. I don't see Hart or Bellamy joining the Chargers.  Wink has to fill out his whole staff essentially now, and hopefully, there's already some internal progress there.

Looks like he has 7 years of…

Looks like he has 7 years of OC experience according to his Wiki, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirk_Campbell.

Looking at ODU, their record drastically improved from 2020 to 2021, and was a offensive assistant for 3 years at PSU. No idea what he actually did there, but from 17-19 PSU was pretty decent.

From what I've seen, he's a guy recruits and players like. I'm torn on the CO-OC titles we see (If Hart was added), but this makes perfect sense.

Noland, Howard, Sayin, Brown…

Noland, Howard, Sayin, Brown and Kienholz. Plus they got a top recruit in 25. Way too many hands to feed, and I bet 3 of these won't be on the roster next year. Be interested if Howard stays, as that QB room is way too packed.

Agree with experience. Davis…

Agree with experience. Davis is hopefully the future, but we have barely any actual experience at QB. The schedule is also balanced with tough games all season (Texas is game 2), so there's not half a season for a starter to settle in. Orji didn't attempt a pass last season, both Denegal and Warren attempted 5 passes.

100% we will be taking a QB…

100% we will be taking a QB in the portal so we have some experience. Can't imagine we run with what we have now. JD is the future, but no way he comes in as a 1st year and starts.

Was committed from May 9, 2022 until December 17th 2022.

Bet he won't sign with LSU…

Bet he won't sign with LSU. Raiola went from OSU to Georgia to Nebraska, and I'm sure all the times he committed were with huge NIL deals. Can see LSU only get 6 wins next year too, so I'm sure the decommitment talk will be huge. On the flip side, the same would go for us if he committed. Our schedule is ruthless, and if we lose JJ(and JH), it could be a tough year.

I live in the area and this…

I live in the area and this guy is great. Leads the team with Rushing TD's too.

Agreed here. Spend a year at…

Agreed here. Spend a year at a school throwing money at you to get your family out of a bad situation, then transfer where you want to go to get developed. I imagine these NIL deals are 6 figures, which would be hard to say no to especially if that's life-changing money for your family.

Many coaches have salaries…

Many coaches have salaries that scale per year. For instance, Sabans increases 400k per year

https://en.as.com/nfl/who…

https://en.as.com/nfl/who-are-the-highest-and-lowest-paid-nfl-coaches-n-2/

According to this site, he'd be tied with Tomlin for 5th comparable to the NFL salaries, and would also be at the top of CFB. I'm sure it scales per year.

That being said, I don't think this is about money with him.

Who knows. 247 shows the LSU…

Who knows. 247 shows the LSU QB coach being his primary recruiter, so I don't know what kind of impact Denbrock has.

Oregon has a better QB…

Oregon has a better QB development than us recently. Mariota, Herbert, Nix.

I doubt he will be there…

I doubt he will be there this time next year. He's in his third school before playing a single down in college, which to me says he can easily be swayed. Dante Moore started as a true freshman at UCLA(Probably was paid a ton to flip initially from Oregon), just to leave after a year to go back to Oregon.

Probably will transfer after…

Probably will transfer after next year to Georgia, just like what Ewers did.

Yeah that didn't even…

Yeah that didn't even register when I wrote the post. Oregon doesn't feel like a Big 10 team that's for sure. It's going to be a LONG time until that feels somewhat normal.

The emotions are still there…

The emotions are still there from the game, so of course they say they're thinking about it. Give it a couple weeks.

Not a player I know, but 247…

Not a player I know, but 247 is showing that Sam Staruch has entered from Michigan.

https://247sports.com/Player/Sam-Staruch-46145624/

The only way Georgia drops…

The only way Georgia drops from the Top 4 is a blowout loss to Alabama, and in that case, I can see them slipping Alabama in at 4.

Gotta be better, but hoping…

Gotta be better, but hoping that's just gameday jitters. Trust the defense to hold them to 3 and out again, and lets go.

He's a 2025 recruit who is…

He's a 2025 recruit who is going to be recruited until the minute he signs. A verbal commitment means nothing anymore, so he could commit to LSU today and that doesn't change the chances we end up with him.

Could probably run it with…

Could probably run it with just the first 3 quarters. Seems like in most games JJ and starters were out after 3.

I'd watch Cade Klubnik too…

I'd watch Cade Klubnik too. Clemson is going through a LOT, and I don't think Klubnik is able to showcase his talents there. Uiagalelei transferred from Clemson to Oregon State and has been doing well out of Clemsons system.

Regardless, QB is something…

Regardless, QB is something we need to have 1 or 2 prospects each cycle. This guy is really good (I live in the area), and is extremely talented. In previous cycles we went all in on 1 guy and have lost almost every time. 2020 we ended up with Dan Villari, 21 we luckily got JJ, 22 we took 2 lower rated guys in Denegal and THERES AN ORJI IN THE ENDZONE, 23 we were all in on Dante Moore and took Kendrick Bell, 24 we luckily landed Jadyn Davis, but cannot believe we didn't get CJ Carr.

The QB dominos are falling in the 25 class, with OSU, Oregon, Texas, ND, and Prime taking theirs. Alabama, Georgia, LSU, USC will probably all take top QB prospects too.

While true a WR is needed…

While true a WR is needed for this class, remember Gatlin Bair is likely going on a 2 year mission.

Ole Miss could give Georgia…

Ole Miss could give Georgia some problems.

I'm betting MSU is up at halftime against OSU, which seems like that happens with most of OSU games. If MSU can convert some field goals into TD's, I can see an upset happening. MSU has nothing to play for, and that program is desperate for a good win. OSU is looking ahead to our game.

Can also see us being more…

Can also see us being more of a run-based team next year with QB really being an unknown. You can hype up the 2/3rd string guys, but the drop-off after JJ is huge. The ideal dream is we do what ND has done, bring in a transfer who can start right away and will only be there this year. Heck, with Ewers hurt and them being stacked at QB, could you imagine if Ewers transferred here for a year after being at OSU? There are a few other names that I could see entering the portal, Klubnik out of Clemson since Clemson is imploding, Cam Ward out of WSU could want to go somewhere with more exposure, and same with Brady Cook out of Missouri. We do have Davis coming, but freshman QBs rarely do well unless they are at the top of the rankings.

Georgia (1) vs Florida (26) …

Georgia (1) vs Florida (26) – in Jacksonville - neutral site - Can see this happening with Bowers gone. Bowers is their number 1 option and saved them against Auburn. Depends more on what version of Florida they get.

Ohio State (3) at Wisconsin (35) - Wisconsin QB needs to have a GAME, but this is possible. OSU seems to have trouble early with nearly every game and pulls away at the end. Maryland, ND, and PSU had the chances to win. Wisconsin isn't really that bad either.

Florida State (4) at Wake Forest - Not happening. They played Clemson fairly evenly, but I don't think Wake can keep up with them

Washington (5) at Stanford - No chance

Oklahoma (6) at Kansas - Not happening. Kansas looks like a rushing team, and Oklahoma is STRONG against the rush.

Air Force (19) at Colorado State - After blowing a lead to UNLV, I can see CSU coming in wanting to get one back. Air Force scheme is annoying to play, but if they play like they did earlier in the season CSU is winning this.

James Madison (25) hosting Old Dominion - NOPE

Liberty (27) at Western Kentucky (on Tuesday) - Tossup here being an away game.

I kind of agree, however if…

I kind of agree, however if we take Montgomery right now we all know Underwood will commit elsewhere. I'm hoping some of the Top 10 QB's start to commit to the bigger names so we don't have to worry about them. Osu, Oregon, Texas, and ND already have a top 10 QB that cycle, so I don't see them being the big threat. Seems like Georgia and Alabama are favorites on others, and I imagine one of the CA qbs will end up at USC.

To your point though, seems like we lucked out landing Jadyn Davis this class, especially after losing out on Carr. 2023 we went all in on Dante Moore and Wiffed, which is fine, but I really wish we had a true top tier second string guy for next year. The selfish part of me wants JJ to come back next year to solidify a Top 10 draft pick, as it's admittingly a big NFL QB class this year.

This one is tough, because…

This one is tough, because he is potentially going on a 2 year missions so he's a 2026 recruit. It's possible if he commits, he doesn't even play with Davis and could be a target for the next QB (underwood please).

However, WR is a position that we need to constantly reload on. Look at osu churning out WRs, and not all of them were 5* prospects. A highly rated WR is something that would help this class, and it seems like the past few years we've been able to sneak a late commit from WRs. Clemons, English

I don't care who they are…

I don't care who they are playing but I could never pull for an osu win. There's something wrong if you do

It looks like he's had quite…

It looks like he's had quite the ratings bump this year. Was an 86 on 247 on 4/27 and just rose to a 92 on 10/12. Looks like we have 2 IOL commits that are both higher than an 86, so maybe at the time we saw our current commits as better prospects. I'd imagine he gets a Michigan offer if there's interest.

I'd love it if we could get Nick Marsh, but there seems to be a LOT of other things going on with that prospect.

Awesome. Would be great to…

Awesome. Would be great to get commits from the top prospects in state, and Gach looks to be a great OT.

At this rate, it's all THE…

At this rate, it's all THE edges belong to Kentucky. Currently have 6 Edge commits

I wouldn't rule out Maryland…

I wouldn't rule out Maryland. That game will be an offensive shootout
