This reminds me of something Stan Van Gundy said the other day. There are only about 60 players in the NBA that are going to be successful wherever they go. For the rest of the NBA and the best 30 guys in the D League their success is entirely dependent on the situation they’re in. Trey finally found a good situation.
Never underestimate athletic directors’ propensity to make risky hires of dudes who have gotten a lot of recent media attention, and never underestimate an assistant coach’s desire to be the man in charge, even at a small school.
Your post intertwining the 2013 basketball team and your CFS made me want to be a sportswriter.
Don’t feel guilty about anything. The people in your life love you and only want to see you get better. Feeling guilty on top of the shit sandwich you’re already dealing with is counterproductive at best.
Just know we’re thinking about you out here in cyberspace. Rock on, man. As if you were in a ska band or something, rock on.
We absolutely can afford to redshirt players and should—we’re not going anywhere this year. Hoke not redshirting players is partially how we got in this mess in the first place.
I've wondered about this myself. I love Steve, but I wonder if his hatred of silent commits stems from the fact that it gives him nothing to report about. Logically, silent commits are only meaningless to him, not the recruit, coaching staff or fans.
But can we score? That's the big question. We're going to give up 10-20 points. Can we score more than 20? If we can run the ball then maybe, juuuuust maybe.
That's just kind of how the schedule evens things out though. A middle class of borderline top-25 teams would mean we wouldn't have as many elite teams, because to become borderline top-25 those middle class teams would have to pull off more upsets against the elite, making them not so elite.
Smith showed athleticism and lateral quickness that we've never seen from him, especially on that first td run. Started to look like his high school highlight reel.
It's a little mean-spirited, but I think M's d can take credit for hitting Hornibrook hard enough and often enough to injure him. It's a byproduct of the pressure they get on the qb, not a luck thing.
Could be possible Ace needed more than 12 hours to write this. Good writing sometimes takes time, plus I'm pretty sure the 1 day 2 day saying should only apply to the athletic department and not the blog.
Seriously. I know he has a rep for carrying this weight well and not moving like he's 375, but that's got to have a limit. Guess we'll find out in the next couple years as his weight continues to fluctuate and he sees his first playing time.
