Legend has it writer Oscar…

Legend has it writer Oscar Wilde, on his death bed, looked at the gaudy curtains in his room and said,  "Either those drapes go, or I do." And then he died.

If he had read the OP's post he would have said,

"Either those drapes go......."

If this guy was our QB I…

What constitutes “exemplary…

What constitutes “exemplary cooperation”?

  • A coupon to the local rub and tug?
  • A few free swings at a Harbaugh piñata?
  • A signed copy of John U Bacon's Let them Lead?
  • A free work out session with Ben Herbert?
  • A Baby's arm holding an apple?
Klein looks really good and…

Klein looks really good and still learning the position.

Hall has some moves, looks like a good 3rd back. The RB room is stacked. Donovan, may be the best receiver on the team. He is going to account for 30% of the offence. He could get invited to New York.

Kendrick Bell got some balls.

Orji's mechanics were better than I was expecting. I still think Sherone looks to the portal for a QB and maybe a receiver.

I'm not sure who said Cade…

I'm not sure who said Cade McNamara was a terrible QB? He didn't have the tools JJ had but he had good mechanics, a decent arm and good head on his shoulders.

He single handedly won the Rutgers  game in 2020 with a 4 TD 17 point comeback victory, taking over for Joe Milton.

We won in 2021 with Cade not in spite of him.

Sounds like Joe Milton. He could trow it over a mountain but just not 10 yards.

Was near Niagara Falls in a…

Was near Niagara Falls in a somewhat suburban backyard.  There was  a significant amount of cloud cover, but it started to clear a bit toward totality.  There was a noticeable temperature drop. The light colour turned golden.  The birds, construction and traffic all went quiet except for one chattering robin.

Then it went dark and the robin finally shut-up but we couldn't see the sun for cloud cover. We had a sinking feeling we were going to miss it. Then we heard a loud but distant  cheer that seemed to be getting closer to us- A break in the cloud and the corona appeared. Pending disappointment was replaced by surprising exhilaration.

Then the birds, traffic and construction slowly returned to pre eclipse levels.

I'm not really a touchy-feely guy who's prone to express his emotions, but that was pretty  damn moving.

Definitely the 2nd best day of the year so far.

Love Dan Carlin - Super Nova…

Love Dan Carlin - Super Nova in the East is the series. If you have 27 or so hours to kill it is more than worth.

If you listen to it, you will have no doubt Little Boy and Fat Man was the right move, despite the gruesome detailed fallout.

Maybe this OT, Tyler Merrill…

Maybe this OT, Tyler Merrill 6'-5" 310 as junior!

He's from Mechanicsburg, PA and I hear he fires on all cylinders.

I think it's when the gummy…

I think it's when the gummy kicked in.

He looked at it and thought it looked off, so added another 't' and an erroneous period.

Esposito was acquired by the…

Esposito was acquired by the Bruins in what may be one of the worst trades in NHL history.

Phil with Ken Hodge and Freddy Stanfield were traded for Gilles Marotte center Pit Martin and minor league Goaltender Jack Norris.

The Hawks thought Esposito was soft and lacked touch. Not the best player evaluation. Phil had maybe the beat touch in the game and took a lot of punishment to do it.

While Stanfield and Hodge also had productive NHL careers, only Martin had moderate success for the hawks.

One thing  is certain JJ's…

One thing  is certain JJ's stock has risen with the combine, pro day and interview and not just the hype. Mel Kiper jr. Had him at the 23rd best overall talent. He now has him at 15.

It seems a lot of teams are jostling for position to get McCarthy. If he doesn't go top 3, Atlanta, Denver, the Vikings, the Giants and maybe the Cardinals could go for JJ.

Milroe has such a resonant voice that that it sounds like he is 4'6" and not 6'4" hense all the low snaps, including the last one of their season.

One of my favourite moments…

One of my favourite moments from the  NCG post celebration was when Edwards was asked about his two touchdowns and he said with absolute sincerity with a beaming smile, "How about Blake's runs!"

Love this kid.

One could easily argue Saban…

One could easily argue Saban was the ace of college football. Maybe the est college football coach ever.

And he's forever changed.

This guy, Gabe Moreceny, kinda gets it.

JJ is too small  6'2" 220 = Pat Mahomes is 6'2" 225

JJ's  QBR is way better than Drake Maye and Caleb Williams.

JJ has never put the team on his back.  Behind Bama with mins to go in the Rose Bowl he calmly executes a 4th and 2 for 27 yards and then makes a historic catch on a back pass from Edwards to spin and hit Wilson while getting  drilled.

JJ has the work ethic, mindset, character and talent to thrive in the NFL.

He smoked 12 - 14 mighty…

He smoked 12 - 14 mighty boosh and danced up a storm.

So I went to Google Translate converted it to Swahili and translated it back.

The results make more sense:

Teams 12 and 14 FBS played the mighty Boosh.

Based on the proposal of the 14 leading teams, ND does not have to have your own plan in any fbs configuration. Bring it to 16, of which 1-16 are played at home, with a combination of 3 or so main level systems each; 16 and more.

Stupid straight, fair business wife deal.

Unfortunately, ND isn't punished for not attending the convention, but it seems to be the fairest and most exciting plan. The race for third place is worth it and will spice up championship week.

While you might not get …

While you might not get  Riley Leonard you might get the guys that he usurped. Leonard starting may move a good 4 star like Kenny Minchey to 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. He's not staying there.

There are probably others in the same situation.

The NFL is littered with NFL…

The NFL is littered with NFL Draft busts and guess that don't match the hype.

For every Trevor Lawrence and CJ Stroud There's

  • Sam Darnold
  • Zach Wilson
  • Dwayne Haskins
  • Kyler Murray
  • Baker Mayfield
  • Justin Field
  • Danial Jones
  • Trey Lance
  • Mac Jones

Some of those guys are serviceable but you're not going anywhere with them.

2020 was the outlier with the top 5 guys being really good QB's.

McCarthy looks like the clear 4th option and will certainly go in the top 10 and maybe the top 5.

I believe will will be the first skill position player drafted in the first round since Braylon Edwards.

He will likely be the highest drafted Michigan QB and the first 1st rounder since Harbaugh in 87

Well if he transferred…

Well if he transferred before maybe he'll come back and transfer again?

Case in point, while we all…

Case in point, while we all talk about why Ohio State has been cleaning up in the transfer portal, it really doesn't have to do with money (as the primary reason)

Case in point, what???

What has OSU done? They've been bullied by Michigan 3 years in a row, despite having greater talent.  The quarterback who led them to a one loss season couldn't leave fast enough. Their top remaining receiver went to PSU to catch passes from Drew Allar!  Ryan Day is soft.  The program was in a tailspin before they opened the purse strings.

It has everything to do with money!

If we scored -4 points per…

If we scored -4 points per game over last year we only lose to Alabama.

Overall: 36% (#108)
Offense…
  • Overall: 36% (#108)
  • Offense: 24% (#132)
  • Defense: 47% (#108)

This is a typo correct? It didn't seem right that our returning offense is worse than our defense yet the over all numbers were the same. Not mathematically impossible  but unlikely.

So according to Connelly it reads:

  • Overall: 36% (#128)
  • Offense: 24% (#132)
  • Defense: 47% (#109)

Worse but makes more sense.

If you were that big of a…

If you were that big of a fan, you wouldn't have said,

"I stand here, alone, fighting that fight, every single day."

When the OP said hires…

When the OP said hires former "former Western HC I thought he was referring to Western University of London, Ontario. And I thought they scoured the world looking for the one guy worse than Brian Ferentz.

Well if there was ever an…

Well if there was ever an insider who had his fingers on the pulse of all things Harbaugh, it's Aaron Wilson of KPCR 2 in  Houston.

Now if Johnny Fever of WKRP in Cincinnati confirmed it, he's gone.

I just read Charges offered…

I just read Charges offered Harbaugh up to 18 mil a year.

Sad, but saying BIG Blue…

Sad, but saying BIG Blue shows how out of touch they are.

We would love to have him.

We would love to have him.

Just Sayin'

I'm not sure if this was…

I'm not sure if this was posted but a fellow tweeted:
- He wants a base salary of 12million a year.
- He is wanting full control of the roster especially the offense.
- He wants to pick the next GM.

He stated the Chargers have 48 hours to decide and Jim won't interview with any other team while they make their decision.

https://twitter.com/MichiganNation2/status/1747106146077581617

This was yesterday about this time so they have 24 hours left.

I'm not sure of the validity of this poster as Harbaugh seems to have interviewed with the Falcons. I guess everyone is an insider.

He wants a 'no show cause'…

He wants a 'no show cause' clause based on the currents investigations.

- the language there should be able to be worked out, with the caveat that no additional currently unknown information is released.

He wants a board of 3, not just Warde, to assess, for cause dismissal,

- seems reasonable.

He wants to extended his current buyout amount of 1.5 million to after the Superbowl.

- That doesn't seem reasonable on his part. So if he signs a contract he can immediately jump to the NFL with little penalty?

Orji and Milroe are the same…

Orji and Milroe are the same size and both freak athletes but that is where the comparisons end.

Milroe was a high 4 star just outside the top 100. Orji was a low 3 star and the 50th ranked QB in the class.

While he does have a strong arm, as someone pointed out in another thread, his mechanics are awful.  That is a really hard thing to change.

Another classic Michigan man…

Another classic Michigan man. I love when he was interviewed after the NC and the reporter asked him about his runs and without missing a beat, with absolute sincerity he said,

"How about Blake's runs against Alabama to get us here?"

He's a hard guy not to root for.

I hope Sherrone maximizes his talents and he is a featured star next year.

I'll take an interesting…

I'll take an interesting player at a bland position. Or even a bland player at an interesting position or even a bland player at a bland position - as long as he was good.

That is probably the best  1…

That is probably the best  1-2 RB room in the country.

The wide receivers and the cb's in the draft in the draft are stacked so you can understand Egbuka and Burke, but, although they were all over the place, many services had Henderson as the best available running back.

So this one is surprising.

Jim said himself he can…

Jim said himself he can grate on people. His demeanor and shtick  is just more suited to the college game.

He can say with legitimacy to college kids, sacrifices who you are today for who you want to be tomorrow.

If you listen to Kris Jenkins after the game, the relief and glory. 'This is why we made all those sacrifices, at the weight room at 6 am. This is why we did things when our bodies were screaming not to but we do it anyway.'

A 30 year old man with a wife and 2 kids, has no where to go -no next level.

Jim's sophomoric disposition is just better suited to the college game.

He will forever be canonized by the Wolverine Nation. He will never get that adulation at the NFL level.

He's great for college football. but the NCAA is way too myopic to see it. Rival teams don't see it.

The NCAA is a rudderless ship that doesn't know where it is going. It only knows it doesn't want to go where Jim Harbaugh wants to take it.  Which is so sad because he just won a national championship with two 5 stars and the 14th ranked class in the nation. And he did it by offering sacrifice, challenge and brotherhood. All qualities that make for better men.

Yet the NCAA wants to draw and quarter him.

He'll be fine in Washington or LA but he'll be a Schembechleresque legend if he stays at Michigan.

Wasn't he Jake the Great…

Wasn't he Jake the Great according to Gus Johnson, or was that another ake?

My point was that we've only…

My point was that we've only lost 1 game in the last 2 years and our record is better than Georgia's.

We're 28-1, They're 27-1

My favourite play is 2…

My favourite play is 2 Dorothy Hamels and a llama.

Both Penix and Saban said, …

Both Penix and Saban said, "They didn't do anything we didn't expect. We just beat ourselves."

It's remarkable how many teams 'beat themselves' playing Michigan.

Did anyone else think Joel's…

Did anyone else think Joel's projector imitation was spot on?

Booger MacFarlard said there…

Booger MacFarlard said there is a team that was lost just once in the last 2 years that would like a shot at the Wolverines.  To which Mike Greenwell responded that Michigan had only lost twice in that time.

I guess you don't need math to be a talk show host.

Congrats to the Buckeyes for…

Congrats to the Buckeyes for cracking the top 10!

So happy for those guys.

If you had told me Michigan…

If you had told me Michigan would be:

1 -10 on 3rd downs

0-1 on 4th down

Throw for 140 yards

Lost Time of possession - and still won. I would have thought you were nuts.

And then you'd mention the 300 yards rushing, most ever in a national championship game and then it would all make sense.
