Not sure if even the Hanson…

Not sure if even the Hanson brothers could have helped Harvard today....

haha, we did, but we had a chance!

Hope they all recover…

Hope they all recover quickly.  I hate to see any young people with serious illnesses. Regardless of where they play sports.

Glad to see him out and…

Glad to see him out and about!  Hopefully, there'll be no long-term affects....he's much too young to have something like that happen.

Kirk, in best Sheriff Buford…

Kirk, in best Sheriff Buford P. Justice voice, "When I get home, remind me to smack your momma in the mouth, cuz there's NO WAY you come from my loins!"

but, you cannot doubt his…

but, you cannot doubt his honesty....

Iowa was a powerhouse when…

Iowa was a powerhouse when hayden Fry recruited NJ and FL.  Of course, that was when few teams, except for ND, recruited nationally.  Now, everyone does.

Iowa is the poster child for nepotism....

update: ESPN is reporting…

update: ESPN is reporting that he was dismissed from Wisconsin.

Let's see, can't start, can't pass block and can't play well with others:  Not so sure the world is HIS oyster....

One of the Wisky sites, I…

One of the Wisky sites, I think it was through Yahoo, said he'd been there four years and they gave him every chance to start this year....he ended up third string.  Wisky has always seemed to develop linemen, so unless someone was desperate, don't know if you'd want to risk a scholarship on a project that hasn't worked out so far.

Could be a great kid and a diamond in the rough.  Won't he have 2 years left with the COVID year?

In true Bama style, they…

In true Bama style, they will drop the game the year before due to "scheduling issues"....ie, Nick needs to work on his bowel control at home.  But the Tide will make it up by scheduling some Tibetian Seminary or a local high school team.

I thought Herm was under…

I thought Herm was under investigation when they hired him?  Were they that desperate for a coach?  Is not Ed Orgeron available?

Cancer SUCKS.....prayers for…

Cancer SUCKS.....prayers for her, her brother and her family as they traverse through this mess.  Prayers for a complete healing.

Great points amazin....I…

Great points amazin....I thought the O line coach was a holdover.  I thought they always had a bunch of linemen drafted.

I always liked Marcus, but I…

I always liked Marcus, but I did think this was too much too soon.  The biggest proof is that he keeps hiring his old teammates instead of established position coach.  It really shows by his retaining Tommy Rees.....also looks like their OL coach has issues also.

Every time I saw coach O on…

Every time I saw coach O on tv, I always went back to the dude pinching his nipples on Waterboy....were they brothers?

Very classy and touching…

Very classy and touching move by your staff.....salute!

I think I'd have to agree…

I think I'd have to agree with you.  Wasn't there an NFL study about former athlete's brains after death?  Or is that ongoing....?

We just had an ex-football…

We just had an ex-football player in trouble with the law also.....think it was in TN as well.  I think it galls most of us that some can be so physically blessed, yet so mentally deficient...

Yes; not sure his head is…

Yes; not sure his head is into playing pro ball anymore, assuming it ever was.  I suppose you could make a living on these short term contracts for a while....

Washed out?  I thought we…

Washed out?  I thought we were supporting breast cancer all year long!  Actually, it did look bad. Red washes out faster than other colors.  The turf has been replaced.

Still hate to see any kid have to be injured like that.  I just had my knee replaced two weeks ago....I'll be glad to walk "normal", much less play a sport again! Oh, to be young!

you never want to lose a…

you never want to lose a starting QB.....but sometimes, that third string guy....

So many classy people on…

So many classy people on this thread: yet this is the guy we all think of when we think of the other team's fan base.

Hate to see an injury where…

Hate to see an injury where a young person can't play their sport anymore..... doesn't matter who they play for.

They are probably going to…

They are probably going to get a very stern WRITTEN warning!  That'll teach em!

I don't like when the kids…

I don't like when the kids transfer out of the "other" sports from the Big 10...uh 14....I mean 16.

Former Buckeye LB; Former MI…

Former Buckeye LB; Former MI Coach; all around good guy!

God Speed!

You can't really go wrong…

You can't really go wrong with Jan in a bikini......

Plus: they chop block…

Plus: they chop block because of the height to weight charts that they have to maintain once they graduate and serve as officers in the Army, the Navy and the Marines. Ergo, they have smaller football players. I've always said they should drop a division just because of the ht-wt differences.

Last time they fell for that…

Last time they fell for that ruse, some bitch got shanked....

Looking at Rutger's football…

Looking at Rutger's football W-L, I'd say they already self-exiled....

How about all four teams…

How about all four teams mentioned? Oregon, Washington, Stanford and ND <spit>?  First league to 20 teams wins....the game has changed and it's all about making $ no.  The old college football model is dead: long live the new king.

Actually, I might have to…

Actually, I might have to come up for the weekend for a burger and a Buddy's pizza the next day!

I have to admit, that 2nd…

I have to admit, that 2nd option is a HUGE advantage for OSU....I mean, if you're offering, I'll sure as hell accept...

I thought ESPN said the ACC…

I thought ESPN said the ACC teams are tied up for 15 or 16 years.....not sure how or why

I had always thought the BIG…

I had always thought the BIG should have beat the SEC to the punch and invited OU and TX.  USC and UCLA are good.  Agree we should get OR and WA....maybe even Stanford.  Heard someone elsewhere argue for Duke and NC.  Let's face it, ND has a standing invite wherever they want, but I wouldn't mind seeing them join the ACC then that league going belly up when a bunch leave for the SEC.

Paying the players to sign…

Paying the players to sign is what little nicky was upset about.  Day mentioned that the money wouldn't kick in until they were actually on campus....might be a way to get them in early for their first strength training as well.

While I don't like the direction sports has gone, you have to adapt to change or get left behind.

actually, that is pretty…

actually, that is pretty funny.....

I believe that the times of…

I believe that the times of the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's where players would get real degrees, not merit badges, and possibly go to law or medical school are gone forever.  The NFL is big money, even if you only go from team to team.  NIL is big money.  While I don't agree with the changes, change is inevitable.  You have to change to survive.  Big cahones to jim for saying otherwise, but guess we'll see if teams that don't pay to play can make it big.

Mr. Pot meet Mr. Kettle; Mr…

Mr. Pot meet Mr. Kettle; Mr. Kettle, Mr. Pot......

Ridiculous!  Sounds like…

Ridiculous!  Sounds like they just wanted to cut him; if so, I guess any reason would do: "He didn't keep his socks clean enough to please us."

Hey Nick: Pot, meet kettle…

Hey Nick: Pot, meet kettle. Kettle; pot.

Also, how long until Jimbo takes aTm down the toilet?  That's his mo; recruit, good team, then leave the cupboard bare and then just leave.....

Agreed; even thought we all…

Agreed; even though we all have our favorite team and favorite team to dislike, it's tragic when a young man or woman is killed or injured .....for any reason.

Terrible injury; seems most…

Terrible injury; seems most of them happen during a non-football play situation.  Hope he recovers and is able to make a pro team.

prayers for your friend's…

prayers for your friend's son.....here's hoping he gets the help he needs...

I hate to see issues like…

I hate to see issues like these in anybody, regardless of what team they play on.  Glad to see so many teams addressing these issues.  My heart goes out to the family of the Stanford athlete.  Hope we can prevent anymore losses like these.

Also hate to see JJ with his shoulder issue.  Hope he recovers better than Braxton Miller did.

Didn't know about Heavy…

Didn't know about Heavy Metal.

Tried to live like Animal House for about two years of college....memories are somewhat hazy of those times....

You forgot the "woof, woof!"

Oops, double post

You forgot the "woof, woof!"

You forgot the "woof, woof!"

It HAS to hurt to lose two…

It HAS to hurt to lose two Coordinators.  I can see returning to the NFL: there are Pro coaches and College coaches; not everyone can do both.  But Gattis?  There has to be some interaction issues with the HC.

Not necessarily sure promoting from within is always the best policy.  For us, Day turned out good, but we've had some promoted to OC or DC over the years that were a disaster at best.  DC example was Coombs; great DB coach, but no experience at DC.  Then there was Warinner at OC; good line coach, terrible OC and bad recruiter.
