No one has said anything…

No one has said anything about President Ono and the Board of Trustees.  I wonder what they think and will they come out and make a statement?  I think this has gone beyond the AD Manuel's office.  Two investigations into the football program and the first one isn't even over.  How much is President Ono willing to put up with?  Harbaugh has been looking at getting back to the NFL the last two years.  Will he say screw this crap and leave at the end of the season before the NCAA does anything?  If this is all true, will any NFL team want to hire JH?

Fans will be fans.  MI fans think Ryan Day did this with no proof and fans from across the country are talking lack of institutional control, death penalty, bowl bans, scholarship reductions, vacating wins.  Vacating wins is dumb.  The games were played.

What is not fun to think about is the Big Ten conference and the NCAA must have some serious evidence to notify every school in the conference of what they believe has been going on at UM over the last few years.  They would not do this if they were just rumors and unproven allegations from rival teams.

I really did not think OSU…

I really did not think OSU would cover last week against WKU.  I thought we would win something around 41-21.  They have a really good QB who will be drafted next April.  For OSU to hold them to 10 points is pretty big for the defense.  It would have been 3 points had the buckeyes recovered the fumble on one of the WKU drive.

Fields is just part of the…

Fields is just part of the problem.  Bears have no skill players worth a damn and a bad OLine.  Bears coaching staff is also a joke.  Fields needs to get out of Chicago and get with another team.

Yeah I hated when OSU had to…

Yeah I hated when OSU had to play Akron and Toledo at night the last two years.  We are all slave to the tv networks (BTN).

Depending on your opponent,…

Depending on your opponent, if you win the coin toss you have to take the ball and not defer to the second half.  Some teams will milk the clock and keep your offense off the field.

Wasn't Harbaugh at practice…

Wasn't Harbaugh at practice the last three weeks?  He just could  not be at the stadium for the games.  The game plans were there during practice and the assistant coaches just had to follow those plans that Harbaugh approved.

There should be no polling…

There should be no polling until the fifth week of the season, but we all know the only poll that matters is the CFP poll that comes out after The Game.

No one knew who would be the…

No one knew who would be the main QB for OSU in the first two games.  Against YSU Devin Brown had his chance and he did not do it so McCord was named the starter for WKU and all games moving forward.  With that out of the way, McCord and the offense finally started clicking as we saw yesterday.  Some Buckeye fans are backing off the ledge now.  We needed that going into ND next week.

The only thing that got Ohio…

The only thing that got Ohio State into the playoff last year after losing to MI late in November was that OSU beat a ranked ND team in their season opener.  So playing a ranked team early on helped OSU last year and they came within a field goal of beating #1 Georgia.

With the 12 team playoffs coming next year, losing 1 or two games early in the year will still get you into the playoffs.  This will be good for the fans who get to see real competitive games and not games that are lame and half the fans leave by halftime

MI was a 36 point favorite…

MI was a 36 point favorite over UNLV.  OSU was a 42 point favorite over YSU.  Both teams did not cover and I am willing to bet some MI and OSU fans were pissed that neither team covered.  MI and OSU both did not cover the spread either last week against ECU and Indiana.  But hey we are both 2-0 and that's a good thing right?  The best thing about being 2-0 is a chance to go  3-0.

I don't know if you were alive when MI played Div. 1AA App State in Ann Arbor and App St. pulled out the upset.

2024 is coming bro.  USC,…

2024 is coming bro.  USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington.  These four teams are doing pretty good with a combined record of 9-0 in the last year of the PAC-12.  Even Colorado is 2-0.

I know you aren't making fun…

I know you aren't making fun of Ohio State's schedule are you?  Who did MI play last year and this year in the non-conference?  I think we can all agree that 2024 can't come soon enough with the addition of USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.  There will be more meaningful games and less of the ECU, UNLV, YSU, Hawaii, UConn teams of the world.  There is no clear cut dominant team right now.  Every team has problems.

Did you see CJ Stroud play…

Did you see CJ Stroud play against MN in his first start after Justin Fields went to the NFL?  At that time there were fans who wanted Stroud benched and McCord to take over.  This year McCord and Devin Brown are neck and neck in practice and Day decided to start McCord yesterday.  The QB battle will continue over the next two weeks and I think Day will find his guy when we play ND on 9/23.  MI last year had a QB battle between McCarthy and McNamara and McCarthy is still not a finished product.

I trust Ryan Day with the QB room given the fact that his last three guys Justin Fields, Dwayne Haskins (RIP), and CJ Stroud were all invited to New York City as Heisman Finalists and were all drafted in the 1st rounds of the NFL draft.  Will McCord or Brown be invited to NY and be drafted in the 1st round?  At this time we don't have enough stats to even make an educated guess.

After week one no one is…

After week one no one is happy with how their team performed.  Some buckeye fans are already panicking and predicting a 3 loss season this year.   Hey we haven’t lost to IU since 1988.   I think OSU will be fine.  The defense appears to be better and we knew the offense would not look the same in week one with a new offensive line and QB.  Devin Brown will get a chance to show what he is able to do over the next two games and Ryan Day can decide who will start against Notre dame.

It looks like Penn State is the best team in the conference after week one and Drew Allar is for real.

Ohio state at ND is on…

Ohio state at ND is on regular NBC at night.
Maryland at OSU is on peacock.  Just be happy mi doesn’t have a big ten conference game on peacock.

The key to MI winning it all…

The key to MI winning it all is JJ taking the next step.  Not every team has a Marvin Harrison Jr. or Emeka Egbuka.  You can't run Blake Corum to death this year either.  Limit his carries to 10-15 per game.  Will MI become the second school in the B1G to win three straight out right conference championship?  OSU did it from 2017-2020.  Will McCarthy be named First team ALL big ten QB this year?  The last two to earn this honor was Denard Robinson in 2010 and Chad Henne in 2007.

The schedule is pretty easy and now it is all up to Harbaugh and JJ McCarthy.

Buckeye Huddle is a paid…

Buckeye Huddle is a paid sight and they have tons of podcasts and insider recruiting info for anyone willing to pay for that.  Tony Gerdeman, Tom Orr, Kevin Noon, Mark Givler, Alex Gleitman do a really good job providing buckeye fans with a lot of news that no one else has.  There are a few MI fans who are paid subscribers.  Tom Orr and Tony Gerdeman talk about MI often in their podcasts.

OSU has a true freshman…

OSU has a true freshman safety Malik Hartford who has been looking really good.  He may be pushing for playing time for free safety over Josh Proctor and Jahad Carter.  This will be year two under new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles system.  They should be better than last year and they are focusing on not giving up big plays.  Jack Sawyer is also going back to his DE position and not the hybrid "jack" position that he played last year.

MI should not have imposed…

MI should not have imposed these 3 games and let Harbaugh coach the whole year.  The NCAA is going to get what they want in 2024 anyway so just wait until then to see what happens.  On the other hand Manuel probably thinks Harbaugh will get more than the 3 games next year and hopes the NCAA will give credit for the 3 games he is sitting out next month and the NCAA can tack on 3 or more games next September 2024.   Oh has anyone looked at the roster for next year to see who is coming back?

Good points.  Telling the…

Good points.  Telling the NCAA to F off or stick it is plain dumb.  That's like anyome here going to court and saying the same thing to a judge who can decide your fate for whatever brought you into his or her courtroom.

Yes along with out of…

Yes along with out of control NIL, 24 team super conferences, Transfer portal.  All these things will kill college football as we knew them ( for those of us who are older than 30 years old).

I don't think a post season…

I don't think a post season ban will be it.  I think the NCAA wants to suspend Harbaugh for the whole 2024 season and put a 5 year show cause on him.  Harbaugh may see this coming and not return next year.  Give me the 3 games now and one of the assistant coaches like Moore can take over in 2024.

What is PR suicide?  The…

What is PR suicide?  The NCAA already has a bad reputation.  Are you going to stop going to football games or not watch anymore?  Are the fans of other schools going to stop going to their games because of how MI got mistreated by the NCAA?  The Big Ten has a $7 billion tv deal and nothing is going to slow that down.

Yeah don't lie to the NCAA. …

Yeah don't lie to the NCAA.  Didn't we all learn from Jim Tressel and Tatgate?

I think so too.  Harbaugh is…

I think so too.  Harbaugh is not going to stick around for 2024 whether or not he wins it all this year.  AD has to look at the future and how this will affect recruting.  He has already looked at the NFL the last two years and he will do it again at the end of this year.

Yes the NCAA already…

Yes the NCAA already rejected the 4 game suspension.  They will not accept this 3 game suspension and call it a day.  I think they will add to this suspension next year.  If four games wasn't enough, is the NCAA looking at 6 or more games in 2024?  Let's say the NCAA wants an 8 game suspension and they will take into account these 3 games in 2023 and just add on 5 more in 2024.

High school kids see that…

High school kids see that Harbaugh has not developed a QB at MI worth anything since he has been the head coach at MI.  That will play a role in whether or not they will decide to commit to UM more than NIL.  The other thing is will Harbaugh be the head coach at MI over the next four years or even next season in 2024?

It's Paris Johnson Jr. not…

It's Paris Johnson Jr. not Jackson.

Every buckeye fan who…

Every buckeye fan who follows Ohio State know that their offensive line unit is the weakest position group this year.  We hope the coaches can find the best four players and their back ups and be able to handle ND by the 4th week of the season.  I think in the next week or two Tony Gerdeman and Tom Orr will do their annual podcast at Buckeye Huddle comparing each position group between MI and OSU.  Don't be surprised if they have MI coming out on top of several groups this year.  These two guys are the best and are honest with their rankings.

Sad to hear about Ryan…

Sad to hear about Ryan Mallett's passing.  It doesn't matter what team you root for.  No one wants to see someone die at such a young age.

Last year OSU was 11 of 19…

Last year OSU was 11 of 19 on 4th downs 58% conversion rate.  Their offense averaged 8 yards per play during the entire season.

Cleveland Glenville CB Bryce…

Cleveland Glenville CB Bryce West just committed to Ohio State this morning.  It was kinda leaked out on twitter by his sister last night.

Just read on an OSU site…

Just read on an OSU site that RB Jordan Marshall has committed to MI.

ND needs to join the Big Ten…

ND needs to join the Big Ten or the Big 16 in a couple years or we should just not schedule them anymore.  Imagine Ohio State, MI, Purdue, MSU, USC, UCLA telling ND to go kick rocks or join our conference.

Can't wait for my Buckeyes…

Can't wait for my Buckeyes to kick Notre Dame's butts in South Bend in September.  We got James Laurinaitis back in Columbus where he belongs.  One thing OSU and MI fans have in common is that we don't like ND.

OSU has had 8 DB's who were…

OSU has had 8 DB's who were drafted in the First round since 2014.  Bradley Roby; Eli Apple: Marshon Lattimore; Malik Hooker; Gaeron Conley; Denzel Ward; Jeff Okudah; Damon Arnette.  That is what 17 and 18 year old high school kids look at.  Who can develop and get me to the next level at the NFL?

I used to get excited when…

I used to get excited when 18 year old kids verbally commit to my team until I saw what happened last December.  OSU had a few kids committed for most of 2022 until the day to sign the letter of intent in December.  Some of these kids flipped to other schools at the last minute because there are schools in the SEC, ACC and some in the Pac 12 that were willing to pay them a bunch of money before they even set foot on campus, which is illegal.  NIL has ruined recruiting.  The NCAA needs to do something about it.  Verbal commitments don't mean much to me anymore.

Who is coming down to watch…

Who is coming down to watch OSU vs MI hockey in First Energy Stadium on 2/18?

52- 45  TCU

51 - 45  TCU

Recruiting has always been a…

Recruiting has always been a crap shoot.  Now it is even worse with NIL and schools throwing money at high school kids before they even set foot on campus.  They may verbally commit a year out, but come signing day they go somewhere else because they get a bag of money up front.  NCAA needs to get some rules or enforce the rule that you can't give high school kids and families money so that they will come to your school.

LB Tommy Eichenberg is…

LB Tommy Eichenberg is coming back next season for OSU

CJ Stroud has not announced yet but most people are assuming he is leaving.  Also rumors that they are trying to get a big NIL deal for CJ to come back.  It would have to be around $20 million or more for that to happen.

Well I wanted an All Big Ten…

Well I wanted an All Big Ten National Championship and that won't happen.  OSU defensive struggles continued last night and Jim Knowles has to get this fixed next season.  It was the first time in history that we scored 41 points and not win the game.  The hit on Marvin Harrison Jr. was targeting at the end of the 3rd qtr but it was not ruled that way.  How does MHJ have a concussion where his head hit the Georgia's guy head and they didn't think that wasn't targeting?  If Harrison did not have to sit out the entire 4th quarter, Ohio State would have won the game.  Ryan Day called a great game and Stroud played the best game of his career.  It's kind of funny all four teams in the semifinals scored at least 40 points.  The four best teams in the country played yesterday and only two advanced.

Today our fan base is in pain like you guys are, but no one is calling for Ryan Day's job like last month.  You guys had a good year, but just fell short of getting another shot at Georgia.  2023 will be interesting for sure.

Alex is right.  This game…

Alex is right.  This game comes down to how JJ will perform.  I doubt Corum and Edwards will be 100% tomorrow.  If MI kicks field goals in the redzone instead of getting touchdowns, it will be very difficult to win.  Watch for Jim Knowles to call blitzes from the linebackers and safeties.  OSU has had two block punts in the last two games by Lathan Ransom.  Keep an eye on that tomorrow too.

I disagree.  I think Stroud…

I disagree.  I think Stroud will have another huge game.  Last year in AA he had close to 400 yds passing.  The weather will be much better in Columbus tomorrow and very little wind.  OSU has beaten every team by double digits this year.  Will they do it again tomorrow?  We will have to wait and see.

Since August, 16 Buckeyes…

Since August, 16 Buckeyes have transferred to other schools and they love these guys since they are so well prepared to play.  OSU also gained three kids from the transfer portal.  The most important one is safety Tanner McCalister who followed Defensive Coordinator Jim Knowles from Okie State to Columbus.  McCalister is going to make some plays this Saturday.

I wasn't even thinking about…

I wasn't even thinking about that, but that was a good one.  high five bro

I hope to see some MI fans…

I hope to see some MI fans down there in Columbus.  The weather should be great with no rain and little wind.  Both College Gameday and Fox Big Noon will be there.  Gameday will be outside St. John Arena.  Fox will be at the southeast corner of the stadium outside the RPAC.  Fox throws out gift cards to fans in the crowd so I would go to that one.  ESPN will have the bigger crowd though I think.

That would be nice.  If OSU…

That would be nice.  If OSU can win without him, I hope we will see him in the playoff assuming we beat whoever comes out of the west division.  It just sucks not to be able to see him play this whole year after seeing what he did last year and ten months ago in the Rose Bowl against Utah.

Redzone offense will be key…

Redzone offense will be key for both teams on Saturday.

Ohio State is #2 in the country in this area with a 96.3%.  Georgia is #1 with a 96.7%

RZ att  54

RZ Rush TD 22

RZ Pass TD  21

RZ  FG made  9

Another player MI should…

Another player MI should keep an eye on is Xavier Johnson for Ohio State.  Look up some of his highlights this year.  This guy can play and is good.  If Julian Fleming continues to drop passes, Day should get Xavier in.  I would be surprised to see JSN back for this game.  If he does play, he may be used as a decoy.
